Low temperature fuel cells
Skibik, Petr ; Barath, Peter (referee) ; Sedlaříková, Marie (advisor)
This work deals with making of catalyst materials with used nickel and commercial carbons that is appropriate for using in low temperature H2-O2 fuel cell. This thesis is described the methods of preparation electrode materials, its consistence and making electrode for the measure. This thesis is compared catalyst activity of nickel materials with platinum materials and poor commercial carbons. The samples were measured by voltammetric method by potentiostat Autolab with used the software GPES and the software FRA for impedance spectroscopy.
Development of propulsion for ultralight plane with fuel cells stacks
Smetana, Martin ; Sedlaříková, Marie (referee) ; Barath, Peter (advisor)
This work deals with development of propulsion for ultralight plane with using fuel cells technology. This thesis is described different types of fuel cells, fuels, electric motors and other component parts needed to build a functioning drive as a whole. The thesis also described situation in the market of fuel cell technology, production facilities and hydrogen tanks. Work includes part of the design drawings of the proposed solutions of thesis.
Optimalization of MEA structure for low temperature fuel cells
Chladil, Ladislav ; Novák, Vítězslav (referee) ; Barath, Peter (advisor)
This master’s thesis focuses on optimization of electrode configuration in combination with a polymer membrane (MEA - Membrane Electrode Assembly) in terms of material and technology. The main goal was to create a functional measurement of MEA structures with three different types of carbon materials. The theoretical part focuses on the physical and chemical properties of low-temperature fuel cells with polymer membrane. The experimental section describes the manufacture of catalytic materials with different types of carbon and various contents platinum. Produced by electrode materials were investigated by cyclic voltammetry. The next step was to manufacture MEA structures and characteristics of VA measurement using a digitally controlled load in the experimental fuel cell Quintech.
Model of Bulk Energy Accumulation
Radil, Lukáš ; Barath, Peter (referee) ; Gregor, Jan (advisor)
The purpose of this pursuit is to introduce the reader about the questions of the accumulation of the electric energy and to outline possibilities of its design and what instruments is possible to get it. The other purpose is to inscribe possibilities of today´s attachment of dispersive sources to the net from the sight of the ERU, eventually from the sight of the UCTE. This persuit describes the posibility of the accumulation of adequate dimensions from renewable resources, the modern trends in this area and the prediction of future progress. The two most proper types of the energy accumulation are chosen by the following process with regarding to the optimal resolution of the given questions. The general balance will be ana-lysed by the comparison of their basic parameters. The other point of this pursuit is to try to realize a small model of the accumulation through the hydrogen´s cycle, it comes to that we can develop the efficiency and influence by the help of the electrolyzer and the metalhydride reservoir is realized energy of accumulation . In the conclusion of this pursuit is the appreciation of the whole project with the view of partly economical and especially with the view of the prospective usage into the electric grid
Utilization of alpha nickel hydroxide in alkaline accumulators
Máca, T. ; Nezgoda, L. ; Špachman, V. ; Vondrák, Jiří ; Sedlaříková, M. ; Barath, P. ; Vrbický, J. ; Špičák, P. ; Jirák, T.
Nickel hydroxide is used as an electrochemically active component of accumulator masses for positive electrode of Ni-Cd, Ni-MH and Ni-Zn alkaline accumulators.
The development of electrode materials for PEM fuel cell
Kazda, T. ; Novák, V. ; Barath, Peter
This work deals with creating a micture of carbon deposited platinum.Furthermore measurement of these mixtures with using the methods Impedance Spectroscopy and Linear scan voltametry and then compare the identified characteristics of follows the measured samples.
Conductivity of carbon materials for alternative energy sources
Tichý, J. ; Novák, V. ; Barath, Peter
Object of this work was prepared electrodes with carbon materials and investigate their electrical properties.
Preparation and properties of manganise dioxide studied by EQCM
Špičák, P. ; Novák, V. ; Barath, P. ; Vondrák, Jiří ; Kazelle, J.
We can see a steady decrease both of the depth of the changes in one cycle and the total mass of the electrode, which indicates the termination of the life of the system perhaps due to slow dissolution of manganese oxide layer in the electrolyte.
Study of hydrogen evolution on PIGE and HMDE electrodes
Klosová, K. ; Barath, Peter ; Trnková, L.
Hydrogen evolution on a paraffin impregnated graphite electrode (PIGE) and hanging mercury drop electrode (HMDE) has been studied by linear sweep voltammetry (LSV) and elimination voltammetry with linear scan (EVLS).
