Thermodynamic cycles used in power engineering
Suchomel, Josef ; Kracík, Petr (referee) ; Baláš, Marek (advisor)
Power engineering is one of the most important parts of industry. Among other things, it deals with production of electricity, without which many of us can no longer even imagine life. All energy devices can be described on the basis of different thermodynamic cycles. And with these thermodynamic cycles this thesis deals. It lists both, the most important cycles, such as Rankin Clausius cycle, which is the basic cycle of most of the power plants, as well as less known, resp. almost new thermodynamic cycles. The emphasis of the whole work is also focused on the advantages and limitations of the stated cycles and on their application in practise, too.

The Intermediate Heat Exchanger for ESFR reactor primary circuit
Švihel, Miroslav ; Baláš, Marek (referee) ; Šen, Hugo (advisor)
The thesis is mainly focused on the design of the intermediate heat exchanger primary circuit of the reactor ESFR. Heat exchanger is calculated heat, hydraulic and strength and is finally processed part drawings. There are designed the basic dimensions of the tube bundle and container heat exchanger. There are included an overview of concepts and so far used types IHX at the nuclear power plants with fast reactors. There are also mentioned basic parameters of the project ESFR and evaluated the safety and operational reliability of the heat exchanger.

Proposals for action elimination of heat loss in buildings
Vašulka, Tomáš ; Musilová, Petra (referee) ; Baláš, Marek (advisor)
This bachelor thesis is about measures leading to heat loss reduction for the model family house. In the research part, available methods and materials are summarized which can be used in thermal insulation of perimeter structures. In the next part, principle of recuperation unit is described which serves for decrease of heat loss by ventilation. Next, the calculation of heat loss is described with heating costs of the house. In the next part, several thermal insulation measures are proposed. In the end, the insulation measures are compared economically.

Oil heater design
Daxner, Ján ; Toman, Filip (referee) ; Baláš, Marek (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with the design of heat exchangers for crude oil heating. The first part deals with the theoretical basis of heat transfer, heat exchanger properties and oil properties. In the second part, a design of two heat exchangers was developed. In the first variant, oil was placed in the pipes and steam was placed on the shell side. For the second variant, the media placement has been swapped. The design part consists of the design of the geometry of the tubes, the shell, and the baffles. Furthermore, thermal, and hydraulic calculations were performed. At the end, the proposed variants were compared, and a more advantageous design was selected.

Energy performance of low-energy houses
Strava, Jan ; Štelcl, Otakar (referee) ; Baláš, Marek (advisor)
The bachelor´s thesis focuses on low-energy houses. It will prove wheter or not a house built as low-energy house really does meet requirements for this classification. Further it suggest investment options for additional reduction of energy consumption. The actual results of 10 year old building will be compared with investor´s original requests.

Proposal heat sources for home heating
Dobai, Szabolcs ; Poláčik, Ján (referee) ; Baláš, Marek (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis deals with heating and selection of appropriate heat sources for family houses. The first chapter describes heat sources used for heating by type of fuel. The second part is devoted to calculation of the energy balance and the amount of heat required for a particular object. According to the results, five possible options are selected. At the end, the economic evaluation of the selected heat sources are processed and the most suitable one is selected. The attachment provides floor plan, section, list of the elements (windows and front door) and also appearance of the house.

Stean boiler for sub bituminous coal, steam parametres 235 t/h, 14 MPa, 540°C
Horák, Stanislav ; Moskalík, Jiří (referee) ; Baláš, Marek (advisor)
The aim of the work is to design a brown coal combustion boiler of 235 t/h output. The work is divided into several parts. First, stechiometric calculations and calculations enthalpy of air and flue gas are performed. It is calculated heat balance of the boiler, the boiler losses and the thermal efficiency of the boiler is determined. After designing the combustion chamber thermal calculation is made. Then, individual heating surfaces are proposed and at the end of the calculations are controlling the overall energy balance of the boiler. For calculation was design documentation added.
