Artificial culture and stocking - risk to intraspecific diversity of wild native fishes in the Czech Republic
Lusk, Stanislav ; Lusková, Věra ; Halačka, Karel
Nowadays fishery is the most significant risk for intraspecific diversity devastation among native species in natural conditions. There are the principles stated, keeping which should significantly decline the risk of intraspecific diversity devastation.
The system of protected territories NATURA 2000 in relation to the ichthyofauna of the Czech Republic
Dušek, M. ; Lusk, Stanislav ; Dušek, J.
The study analyses problems of European and national legislatives including the protected areas system Natura 2000 in relation to ichthyofauna of the Czech Republic.
Biodiversity of ichthyofauna in the Czech Republic and problems of protection
Lusk, Stanislav ; Lusková, Věra ; Dušek, M.
The study contains review of the Czech ichthyofauna and goes into its state and development. The main issue is an analysis of problems related to conservation of species and intraspecific diversity in native fish species. There are elementary actions proposed for fish biodiversity conservation.
Biodiversity of fishes in the Czech Republic (4)
Lusk, Stanislav ; Lusková, Věra ; Halačka, Karel
This conference, fourth in a row, was largely devoted to problems of biodiversity of fishes. Besides contributions which present data on the biodiversity of concrete subjects in concrete localities and habitats on community, species and intraspecific levels, there were also contributions that emphasise biodiversity protection and conservation.
Danube carp - the wild form of Cyprinus carpio: will we maintain it?
Mészáros, J. ; Lusková, Věra ; Lusk, Stanislav ; Šlechtová, Věra ; Šlechta, Vlastimil
The genetic analysis was carried out investigating samples of Cyprinus carpio, the wild form. The samples were taken from the River Dyje, the breeding station at Nové Zámky (Slovakia) and the breeding station at Pohořelice (the Czech Republic). There is an existing possibility to reestablish stable population of Cyprinus carpio, the wild form, in the confluence area of the rivers Morava and Dyje. The main presumption is the revitalization of local alluvium and support of the population by stocking the fry from Cyprinus carpio wild form breed.
Diploid, triploid and tetraploid silver crucian carp Carassius auratus from the lower reach of Dyje River: the first results of reproductive characteristics and experimental hybridization
Flajšhans, Martin ; Lusková, Věra ; Vetešník, Lukáš ; Halačka, Karel ; Rodina, Marek ; Lusk, Stanislav ; Gela, David
Diploid, triploid and tetraploid males of silver crucian carp, Carassius auratus, produced live motile spermatozoa, capable of fertilization. Flow cytometry for the relative DNA content in male gametes revealed spermatozoa of diploid males to be haploid, those of triploid males to be aneuploid and those of tetraploid male to be aneuploid and/or diploid. Concentration of spermatozoa and the percentage of live spermatozoa showed a tendency to drop with increasing ploidy level and this effect was significant for the tetraploid male compared to those of lower ploidy levels.
The proposal of the pSCI sites for fishes and lampreys for system of NATURA 2000 in the Czech Republic
Dušek, J. ; Dušek, M. ; Lusk, Stanislav
For 15 fish and 1 lamprey species, the territory of potential Site of Community Interest (pSCI) has been limited and proposed (Annex to the Council Directive No. 92/43/EEC). In total, 80 pSCI localities for fish and lampreys in the continental area and 7 pSCI localities in the pannonic area in the Czech Republic were selected.
The ploidy of Carassius auratus in the Czech Republic in light of the artificial reproduction
Halačka, Karel ; Vetešník, Lukáš ; Flajšhans, M.
State of population of Carassius "gibelio" (the sex ratio and ploidy level) was for a long time observed in the Dyje river floodplain, where it has expanded by natural migration from the Danube river through Morava river in 1975-1976. Results show the time dynamics for both parameters, with increasing proportion of males and increasing proportion of diploids of both sex and the formation diploid-polyploid complex. Diploid, triploid and tetraploid males and females of silver crucian carp, Carassius auratus, as well as males of silver Blicca bjoerkna and Rutilus rutilus, were used in mating. The results show different reaction of females on used sperm even in the same group of ploidy. The existence of some groups of the individuals with a different strategy of reproduction in frame single population could be the explanation.
The influence of ploidy on the complete blood count in silver crucian carp
Vetešník, Lukáš ; Halačka, Karel ; Lusková, Věra ; Lusk, Stanislav
In the sample of 27 specimens of silver crucian carp (Carassius auratus) of different ploidy (5 diploids, 21 triploids and 1 tetraploid), the red component of complete blood count was found. Using the analysis of variance test, highly significantly lower erythrocyte count, insignificantly lower haemoglobin count and haematocrit value were proved. The mean corpuscular volume was increasing significantly with the ploidy increased, and mean corpuscular haemoglobin was increasing highly significantly with the ploidy increased. The tetraploid specimen indicated similar trend depending on the higher ploidy level.
