Changes of the geobiocoen and skeleton of the ecological stability in mining landscape
Lacina, Jan
Anthropogenic disturbances in Ostrava-Karviná mining district cause very significant changes of ecotopes. Actual vegetation reacts on the changes. Frequently, conditions of potential vegetation are changed as well. Even in disturbed landscape has arisen many perspective anthropogenic conditioned biotopes.
Restructuring of selected industrial corporations in the Ostrava region
Klusáček, Petr
Transformation of metallurgy and heavy engineering is a serious problem significantly affecting the entire Ostrava region. The paper depicts the complexity of the whole transformation process since 1989 on an example of the restructuring and development of two giant steel corporations – Vítkovice Steel and Nová huť. The two companies went through a difficult economic situation in the 1990s, which showed in a significant down-scaling of production and in a massive dismissal of workers.
Complex geodetic and geophysical measuring in the subsidence depression
Doležalová, Hana ; Kaláb, Zdeněk ; Müller, Karel
The usage of geodetic and geophysical methods to measure at the undermined territory is described in the contribution. Beside geodetic methods that are used in the subsidence depression to find out both motions and deformations of the surface and buildings there's also presented the suitability to use geophysical methods in the mining area. The principles of seismologic measurements to review buildings exposure are described too, as the observation of influences of underground mining on buildings is very useful.
GIS project to monitor induced seismic activity in areas of abandoned underground mines
Čápová, D. ; Kaláb, Zdeněk
The methodology by which problem of induced seismicity is to be solved using a GIS approach is the subject of this contribution.
Stability problems connected with the maintenance of the burning waste bank of the mine Kateřina (Radvanice, Bohemia)
Osner, Z. ; Němec, J. ; Konečný, Petr ; Doruška, J.
Maintenance of the burning waste bank of the Kateřina Mine consists in the replacement and cooling of more the 2,3 millions cubic meter of waste material. The crushed and cooled waste material is stored in some insulated waste rock beds. The mathematical modelling of the stability of the new waste rock bodies, which are based on inclined ground is described.
Changes of relief of the Dubňany town and its surroundings due to mining activity
Kirchner, Karel
In our geomorphological researches we are concentrated on the areas burdened by the economic activity – particularly by the mining. In these areas the distinct changes of relief occured, the influences of mining activities are also indicated in the period of mining depression. On the example of the Dubňany town (South Moravia, Dolnomoravský úval Graben ) we deal with the geomorphological aspects of landscape where for more than 170 year the lignit mining was located.
