Species determination of coregonid stocks
Prokeš, Miroslav ; Baruš, Vlastimil ; Peňáz, Milan ; Kubišta, O. ; Melichar, M. ; Špinar, M.
On the basis of results in reproduction biology, early ontogenesis and morphometrics of Coregonus maraena, C. peled and their reciprocal hybrids, the characterization of artificial reproduction development and morphometrical parameter changes in the parental species due to artificial hybridization is represented here from 1970 up to the present. On the example of populations of both aquacultured coregonid species, reared in the region of the Českomoravská vrchovina Highland, the determinative characterization of eggs, eleuterembryos and juvenile specimens are presented. To be the most important determinative characters, considered are: egg size, number of myotomes, size of hatching embryos, number of gill rackers, mouth position, body depth, number of rays and anal fin size. The actual population of C. maraena does not differ morphometrically from its state before 1970, the population of C. peled differs morphometrically from the state after introduction in 1970.
Aquaculture rearing of sturgeons in the Czech Republic
Prokeš, Miroslav ; Baruš, Vlastimil ; Peňáz, Milan
Brief results of biological research (especially growth rate) in six sturgeon species, reared under aquacultural conditions of the Czech Republic in 1994-1999, are presented. As suitable for aquaculture rearing in the Czech Republic, Acipenser baeri A. ruthenus were prowed.
Exploitation changes in the common carp (Cyprinus carpio) within the reservoir system of the Nové Mlýny Water Work
Pecín, M. ; Spurný, P. ; Baruš, Vlastimil ; Prokeš, Miroslav
Under long-term aspects, catch values of the common carp (Cyprinus carpio) and total catches from three reservoirs of the above system in south Moravia, Czech Republic, are compared. A significant catch decrease is registered after the water level low by 85 cm in 1995. This and other influences affecting negatively the fish yields from these reservoirs are discussed.
Biometrical characteristics of Clarias gariepinus, aquaculture reared in the Czech Republic
Kůrka, R. ; Prokeš, Miroslav ; Baruš, Vlastimil
In Clarias gariepinus, reared in the Czech republic in 1999, morphometrical analysis was performed. The typical systematic features, which are valid for the family Clariidae and the genus Clarias were verified, but the species validity was not confirm
Tendencies appearing in fishery yields by angling in the river Dyje downstream of the Nové Mlýny Reservoirs
Baruš, Vlastimil ; Prokeš, Miroslav ; Peňáz, Milan
The yearly fishery yields in the lower reaches of the river Dyje downstream of the Nové Mlýny Reservoirs (South Moravia, Czech Republic), realised by anglers during 1984-1998 were analysed. The results document that, after the arbitrary decrease of wa level by 85 cm in the reservoirs "Věstonická" and "Novomlýnská", a short-term, however significant, increase of the overall as well as of the carp's fishing results occurred in the adjacent riverine fishing grounds during 1996. The catches of the bra
Species diversity of the fish community in the Čepovo rameno oxbow (Morava River)
Zapletal, J. ; Peňáz, Milan ; Baruš, Vlastimil ; Prokeš, Miroslav ; Vojtásek, S.
The diversity of the fish community was investigated in the Morava river oxbow (r. km 268.4) in 1998-1999.
Morphometry and growth variety of sturgeon species reared in the Czech Republic in 1994-1999
Prokeš, Miroslav ; Baruš, Vlastimil ; Peňáz, Milan
The present paper reports the results of assessing the differences in biometrical characters and growth features in six sturgeon species which were introduced in the Czech Republic from the USA and Russia in 1994-1996.
What conclusions could be made on diversity of fish community in lower reaches of the Morava River from anglers' fishing yields
Baruš, Vlastimil ; Peňáz, Milan ; Prokeš, Miroslav
According to the literature reviews and anglers' fish catches during 1970-1998, the fish community in the lower reaches of the Morava River consists of 39 species (11 of them belonging to the category of endangered or vulnerable ones).
