Permeation of VOC vapours through carbon nanotube network membranes controlled electrically
Slobodian, P. ; Říha, Pavel ; Olejník, R.
In this letter, we report the increase of permeation rates of some typical volatile organic compounds through entangled carbon nanotube networks by an electric current. The change in the permeation rate is reversible when the\ncurrent is turned off. The permeation rise is partly probably due to Joule effect and thus increased membrane temperature and vapor pressure in the vicinity of the inlet side of membrane. However, the effects of vapor polarity and electrostatic interaction of vapors and charged nanotubes seem to be also involved and contribute to the differentiation between alcohol and carbohydrate vapors permeation.
Balance of the first year
Dittrt, František
Summary of the research made by the Czech Academy of Science in cooperation with the Association of Orlicko Community.
Failure wave simulation after the Pastviny dam break
Brych, Karel ; Dittrt, František
This task deals with an extremely unsteady flow both in the channel and in the flood-plain. Similar solutions of such sudden wave are often unstable and require accurate treatment of boundary conditions and input data. One-dimensional model HEC-RAS was used. Results were evaluated in the ArcView environment.
Application of UVP method for measurements through a solid wall
Chára, Zdeněk
The contribution presents a possible application of ultrasound velocity profile-meter (UVP) for velocity measurements inside a closed pipe. Glass as well as plastic pipes are tested and the results are compared with LDA measuremnts.
Složení sedimentů, Al-Si gelů a precipitátů vázaných na výskyt elementálního Al, Si, Fe z monitorovacích vrtů u jímacího území Podluží
Ďurďová, Libuše
Occurrence of increased sulphate concentration in groundwater of the Quaternary sediments in the floodplane of the Morava river watershed is related to many specific features in hydrogeology, hydrochemistry, microbiology, geochemistry, exploitation of water resources, climatic conditions, and technical equipment of boreholes. One of the concsequences is genesis of 2-4 m thick layer of sediments at the bottom of moitoring boreholes Vis with mineral precipitates, sludge, Al and Si gelatines, precipitates of elemental forms of Al, Si and Fe. There were found also colloids of FeS2 composition and minerals goethite, magnetite, lepidocrocite, pyrite, greygite under extreme oxido-redox conditions.
Disturbances in precipitation-runoff relation caused by insufficient transpiration in vegetation season
Šír, Miloslav ; Tesař, Miroslav ; Lichner, Ľ. ; Syrovátka, O.
Catchment rainfall-runoff relationships are employed in this study to identify the changes in catchment behaviour which may indicate the impact climatic forces.
Water and thermal regime of mature forest, clearing and dead forest in the vegetation season
Tesař, Miroslav ; Šír, Miloslav ; Zelenková, E. ; Lichner, Ľ.
The paper focused on comparison of the water and thermal regime of three experimental stands located in the Sumava Mts.
Plant control of hydrological cycle in headwater regions
Šír, Miloslav ; Tesař, Miroslav
Headwater regions of the Czech mountains and piedmonts were originally covered with the climax vegetation, mainly mixed and deciduous forests, actually with dominanting antropogenous spruce monocultures and meadows.
New results from assessment of chosen microbiological, physical and chemical qualities of groundwater by factor analysis
Ďurďová, Libuše ; Tungli, L.
During research of groundwater chemistry development at Morava river watershead several geochemical and hydrogeological methods were applied for research of the cause of change of groundwater chemistry form hydro-carbonate to sulphate type.
Verification of application of factor analysis of water resources quality by maps
Ďurďová, Libuše
Chemistry development was assessed in locations where sulphate concentration increase exceeded 250 mg/l. For verification of layout physical and chemical water quality where composed maps in Arcview environment by method inverse distance weighted. Digital topological data vector maps ZABAGED in scale 1:10 000 were used. Evaluation of ground water chemistry development by application of factor analysis of physical and chemical water qualities was conducted.
