The impact of physical methods and new chemical preparations based on nanoparticles on selected wood-rotting fungi invading wooden structures - possibilities and limitations of modern techniques of prevention
Švec, Karel ; Gabriel, Jiří (advisor) ; Ptáček, Petr (referee)
83 Abstract The work focuses on the physiology of wood-rotting fungi and the possibilities of their inhibition by physical methods (microwave and gamma irradiations, dry heat) or newly developed chemical preparatives contaning metallic nanoparticles. The effect of abovementioned treatments on mycelial growth, activities of extracellular enzymes responsible for wood degradation and on spore germination or viability was studied in selected strains of wood-rotting fungi obtained from culture collection (Coniophora puteana, Fibroporia vaillantii, Gloeophyllum sepiarium) or isolated from infected buildings (Serpula lacrymans).

Physiology of Serpula lacrymans
Švec, Karel ; Gabriel, Jiří (advisor) ; Koukol, Ondřej (referee)
Serpula lacrymans, the causative agent of dry rot indoor wood decay, is the most common Basidiomycete found in buildings. From the viewpoint of economic loss and destructiveness it is the one of the most important fungus worldwide. S. lacrymans is able to fastly colonize substrate by rapid mycelial spread and effectively decompose it. Despite the fact, that the physiology of this fungus has been studied for more then 100 years, efficient approach for efective defense does not exist. However, the prevention and effort to keep the house enviroment dry still seems to be the best option. This thesis is a survey of a recent knowledge of S. lacrymans physiology and up-to-date technologies used in the remediation of affected buildings. key words: Serpula lacrymans, fungal physiology, rhizomorphs, remediation, wood construction, hot air, microwaves, fungicides
Business Intelligence in bank sector
Langmaier, Petr ; Pour, Jan (advisor) ; Švec, Karel (referee)
The main goal of this thesis is proposal and implementation of the support of decision making with help of Business Inteligence tools in bank environment for deparment of the risk management. The proposal include enlargement of the current used dimensions with new ones. Designed system should fully replace contemporary system and extend possibilities of obtaining informations from data resources and improve the quality of decision making. Designed system will be part of portfolio quality review of multiple business products. The next goal of this work is to analyse current trends in Business Inteligence and analyse the usage of BI in banking. Further analyse the support of BI from operative to strategic decision making. The goals are achieved on the basis of analyses accessible relevant electronic and printed resources, further from knowledge and experience of bank's analysts from deparment of the risk management and BI. Further from service documentation and further from my work experience in deparment of the risk management and from implementation of credit scoring projects. As the personal contribution of the author is possible to consider the demonstration of the usage of BI in bank risk management and at the same time the proposal of one possible way of solving implementation of the supports of decision making in bank's environment.
