ŠTROBLOVÁ, Petra
Fermented dairy products with probiotics belong to functional foods, besides their nutritional value they also have beneficial effects on our health, which are mainly based on the content of lactic acid bacteria and probiotic microorganisms. The aim of the thesis was i) to evaluate information concerning fermented dairy products and probiotics among the general public through a questionnaire survey ii) to assess the offer of fermented dairy products with probiotics in five retail chains (Globus, Terno, Tesco, Billa and Trefa). Out of a total of 972 respondents, the majority (96%) reported that they consume fermented dairy products. The most popular fermented dairy product is yoghurt (87%). The majority of respondents (61%) prefer plain products. The choice of fermented dairy products when purchasing is mostly influenced by the taste of the product (607 responses), its price (461 responses) and previous experience (423 responses). Most respondents correctly knew that regular consumption of fermented dairy products improves our digestion (730 responses) and supports the immune system (562 responses). The retail chains offered a total of 147 products (70% of which were plain). The products came from 18 producers (of which only three were foreign). From the information on the products, it was found that the following probiotic micro-organisms were added by the producers to their products: Lactobacillus acidophilus, L. casei, L. rhamnosus, L. paracasei, Bifidobacterium spp. and Streptococcus thermophilus. However, the most commonly used genus is Bifidobacterium.

The theoretical part of the thesis is focused on education in the above mentioned fields and their comparison. The theoretical part presents the basic characteristics of the fields, the course of study and the subsequent application in future job. The practical part presents the results of the research, which took part in the last study year of the above mentioned fields. The research method used was a didactic test, which was distributed to the students. Didactic test was composed of three parts (a total of thirty questions). The results were processed in "MSExcel".
Nutritional status in patients suffering from deep sternal wound infection
Štroblová, Petra ; Špaček, Miroslav (advisor) ; Zlatohlávek, Lukáš (referee)
Introduction: The procedure of longitudinal median sternotomy is the most commonly used approach in cardiac surgery with the necessary complex postoperative treatment. A multifactorial approach is particularly important to prevent later complications, which can be very serious or fatal. The theoretical part of the thesis is not just about the risk factors that may interfere with the healing process but also about nutritional measures that could reduce the risk or completely prevent the profound dehiscence of the sternotomic wound. Methodology: The research method consisted of a retrospective analysis of the risk factors of deep sternal dehiscence in 22 patients who underwent cardiac surgery using the technique of longitudinal median sternotomy over a ten-year interval. 11 patients with sternal healing disorder were selected and included in group 1. Subsequently, an additional 11 patients were selected without sternal dehiscence. These patients were selected in such a way that their characteristics corresponded to the characteristics of patients of the first group in terms of statistical evaluation and comparison of both groups (type of exercise, length of operation, use of extracorporeal circulation, LIMA / BIMA, etc.). In the selection of patients in the control group 2, the laboratory nutrition...
The lesser-known nutritional supplements
Štroblová, Petra ; Vilikus, Zdeněk (advisor) ; Svačina, Štěpán (referee)
The thesis researches three dietary supplements - chromium, colostrum and taurine. The object is to show the importance of these three supplements for sports diet and for medical purposes as well. Trivalent chromium is an essential element, active form of which significantly participates in carbohydrate metabolism by enhancing the ability of insulin to distribute carbohydrates into target cells. Recommended daily intake has been set at 25 - 45 μg. Studies have confirmed that chromium significantly increases the activity of insulin and promotes glucose tolerance, which makes it an essential element for people, who suffer from diabetes mellitus type II. According to accessible studies, chromium doesn't play an important role in muscle building. Only a half of the studies have indicated chromium as an influental element in body weight reduction. Colostrum, a form of milk produced by mammary glands just after giving birth, is rich in growth factors, amino-acids and bioactive protein. Colostrum is appreciated mainly for its immune system - supporting elements. Its recommended daily amount is between 20 and 60 grams. Although colostrum is rich in growth factor IGF-I, its influence on muscle growth has not been proven. Positive finding is the fact, that colostrum promotes post- exercise recovery. Some...

(in a timescale of five months and three respondents with this disease). The theoretical part of work is built from all around information about diabetes as well as description of its history and appearance worldwide and in czech republic. As next are said specifics about the 1st type of this disease definition, charakteristic, prevention, appearance and diagnostics. Text informs about curing of this type as well as possible complications in hang with wrong way of curing of a person with diabetes. Researchpart is made of three case studies. The method of aquiring the data was anamnestic questionnaire and a diary, in which the respondents weekly wrote important informations conected with the disease. Informations were given by three young adults (up too 25 years) with diabetes mellitus 1. type. The whole time of diary entries took 5 months and 21 complex week entries were chosen. All of the entries containing informations about feeding and optimal energy values were processed in program "Nutriservis Professional". Data including information about glykemy and inzulin input were compared with actuall menus and physical activity of the respondents afterwards. The results of the research are presented in written form, including diagramms of level of glucose in the blood. The first respondent is fullfilling her medical principles (as said). Shes following her diet regime and selfmonitoring and shes aplicating her inzulin properly. The plan of the second respondent was compensated a lot as well. All this given, all of his levels of glykemy arent coliding too much. He follows the curing plan as well. The results of the third respondent show that she is compensating her disease properly. Two last mentioned respondents were not working together very well.
