Solid fuels boilers inovation

This bachelor’s thesis deals with combustion in solid fuels boilers. The thesis is divided into three parts. In first part is described sorting and characteristic of solid fuels, types of solid fuels boilers and technology of combustion. In second part are introduced legislative requirements of harmful emissions and responsibility of solid fuels boilers dealers and operators. Final part is concerned with innovations, which are necessary to more effective and less harmful combustion.

Nowadays, biomass appears to be an environmentally and financially acceptable substitute for fossil fuels due to increasingly stringent emissions standards. The second part deals with its particular type, digestate. It is investigated whether the fossil fuel can be replaced or how the energy production process could be changed.

Next thesis deals with present situation of emissions and emission limits. After that selected methods of reduction of sulphur dioxide emissions are described and for representative technology mass balance has been made. Last part describes taken measurements and presents their results.

Bachelor thesis is engaged with possibilities of heat loss reduction in the selected family house. Part of this thesis is calculation of heat losses before reconstruction according to ČSN EN 12381. The main part of this work is the evaluation of proposed heat insulation measures based on the returns of investments.
