Measurement of the magnetic properties of materials using LabVIEW
Šolc, Martin ; Bulín, Tomáš (referee) ; Huzlík, Rostislav (advisor)
In this thesis LabVIEW program and its development environment is described. After that the most used current transducers, their working principles and their properties are analyzed. Next part is dedicated to curves of magnetic hysteresis of ferromagnetic materials. Practical part of bachelor´s thesis is dedicated to measuring BH curves of torroidal core transformer. The measuring was made possible by LabVIEW program, using digital integration in LabVIEW, analog integration with RC cell, voltage converter and current transducer ITN 12-P Ultrastab. In the last part of the bachelor´s thesis I evaluate the measurements.
Design of a high-speed electrical machine.

This diploma thesis is dedicated to design of highspeed induction motor with power 30 kW, 60 000 rpm. In the beginning of the thesis basic problematic of highspeed motors, used materials and motor types is discussed. The practical part of the thesis concerns design of the motor itself, creating a model in ANSYS Maxwell software, performing several simulations and optimalization of the designed machine. In the last parf of this thesis each simulation is evaluated and the final model of the machine is introduced.

Genetic Databases and Protection of Genetic Data
Vozanková, Anna ; Šolc, Martin (advisor) ; Šimečková Pipková, Petra Joanna (referee)
Genetic Databases and Protection of Genetic Data Abstract This thesis deals with the processing of genetic data obtained by DNA sequencing. The data obtained from the human genome represents a revolutionary basis for scientific research and open the way for the treatment of some so far incurable diseases such as cancer, AIDS, and Alzheimer's disease. The thesis primarily focuses on the legal regulation of the protection of genetic data. The thesis describes the processing of genetic data, including its use and dissemination, mainly through providers of genetic databases and genome browsers for scientific research purposes. From the perspective of the current legal framework in the Czech Republic and the European Union, the thesis analyzes the existing level of protection of genetic data and points out evident shortcomings. However, the thesis is not limited to a description of legal regulations but thoroughly evaluates the issue de lege ferenda. The aim of this thesis is to evaluate the current practice of processing genetic data, particularly its accessibility, storage, the possibility of its anonymization, and ways of its misuse. The thesis focuses on the issue of the implementation and consequences of the current legal regulation mainly established by the Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European...
Extreme Emergency during Provision of Health Services
Vidláková, Jana ; Šolc, Martin (advisor) ; Salač, Josef (referee)
The work discusses the institute of extreme emergency in the context of the provision of health services. Its goal is to find out whether the current legal regulation of extreme emergency is sufficient for the field of health law from a practical point of view. The work analyses individual conditions of extreme emergency from the point of view of civil law. For the better understanding, it includes frequent comparisons with other legal fields. In several places, there is a comparison with foreign legislation. The work also provides an insight into the circumstances excluding illegality, which are unknown for the Czech legal system. The work is divided into four chapters. The first of them deals with the concept of illegality and the connection between civil law and criminal law regulations of circumstances excluding illegality. The second chapter presents the role of extreme emergency in the legal system. It focuses on the state of emergency in the Convention on Human Rights and Biomedicine, on the obligation to compensate for damage caused in an extreme emergency and on the apparent (putative) extreme emergency. For a closer understanding and determination of the correct approach of the courts to the extreme emergency, it analyses the decisions of the administrative courts in which health service...
Civil Law Aspects of Medical Research
Šolc, Martin ; Salač, Josef (advisor) ; Van Beersel Krejčíková, Helena (referee) ; Sovová, Olga (referee)
Civil Law Aspects of Medical Research Abstract Under Czech law, medical research on humans is divided into three branches: clinical evaluation of medicinal products, evaluation of medical devices, and evaluation of new procedures not yet introduced in clinical practice. While the first two mentioned types of research are regulated in great detail, the legal regulation of the evaluation of new procedures in the Act on Specific Health Services is significantly less extensive. In addition, new methods are still routinely introduced into clinical practice outside of the formalised evaluation regime according to the aforementioned law. As a result, both health care providers and individual physicians face legal uncertainty regarding potential liability for harm arising from the implementation of new methods. This work is focused on civil liability in the subject context. In the first part of the thesis, as a normative basis for the evaluation of the legal regulation and its interpretation possibilities, we define the aim of law as preservation and strengthening of social cohesion. The related fundamental values this thesis is based upon consist in the limitation of judicial power in questions of a political nature, as well as the principle of trust, according to which the legal regulation of medical research and...
Research and education at astronomical institutes of the Czech and German universities in Prague in years 1882-1945
Hyklová, Petra ; Šolc, Martin (advisor) ; Randa, Miroslav (referee) ; Wolfschmidt, Gudrun (referee)
This thesis focuses on the development of astronomical institutions at the universities in Bohemia from 1882 to 1945. During this period, the Czech National Revival culminated. The importance of the emerging Czech science grew, resulting in the split of three major Bohemian universities into separate Czech and German institutions. Subsequently, the Czech and German astronomical communities finally split and continued to develop separately. This thesis investigates both communities' connections and the relationship between development and research traditions, their mutual interaction and isolation. This thesis includes biographies of large astronomical instruments and a collective biography of students of the Faculty of Philosophy, resp. Faculty of Science, who enrolled in astronomy lectures. The outcome of this thesis is to broaden the knowledge of the history of Czech professional astronomy.
The evolution of astronomical photometry
Baláž, Jáchym ; Šolc, Martin (advisor) ; Wolf, Marek (referee)
This bachelor's thesis focuses on the evolution of photometry in astronomy. It begins with the first astronomers of the classical era, follows the improvement of star atlases, before and after the discov- ery of the telescope. The thesis documents the dicovery of optical photometers, photography and photoelectric cells and the influence of these on photometry. Throughout the advancement in technology, the thesis follows the changes in astronomical photometry, from the definition of the magnitude to the introduction of colour indices. The historical excurse ends in the present time - with the use of CCD sensors and key space missions of the modern era. The thesis also focuses on the history of variable star photometry. It also lists the observatories in Czech Republic, or more precisely their instruments, with photometric research. 1
Just War Theory and Humanitarian Intervention: Case of Kosovo
Šolc, Martin ; Kučera, Jan (advisor) ; Střítecký, Vít (referee)
The aim of the bachelor thesis is to assess the NATO military intervention in Kosovo from the spring 1999 in terms of international law and - first of all - the western just war theory. The thesis first focuses on the genesis of just war theory in the political philosophy of european Antiquity, Middle Ages and early Modern Age, which provides better understanding of the meaning of certain conditions which are necessary to fulfill in order to use force legitimately. The thesis further comes to conclusion that humanitarian intervention forms a legitimate part of contemporary just war theory. The theoretical part of thesis ends with definition of necessary and auxiliary just war criteria applicable to humanitarian intervention; there is also described the regulation of the use of force in international law. The thesis then proceeds to proper case study. After the history of conflict is briefly addressed, international law norms and just war criteria are applied to the NATO military intervention. The thesis concludes that the intervention was illegal: the conditions set by the UN Charter were not met nor was there to be found any customary norm which would provide the action of Alliance with a legal basis. On the other hand, the intervention proved to be legitimate in terms of just war theory: all of...
