Exchange rate risk and its managing in export company

This diploma paper describes the process of managing of exchange rate risk in an export company. At the beginning of the work there is short overview of the basic concepts of the exchange rate theory. The next part is focused on the determination of the exchange rate and on the basic methods of exchange rate prediction -- fundamental, technical and psychological analyses. These chapters are followed by the next steps in the process of the exchange rate risk managing with a view to the analyses of the firm's exchange exposition (especially to its quantification) and to instruments used to exchange rate hedging (especially to currency derivatives). In the end of the diploma paper there is a brief summary of development of the financial crises 2008/09 with reference to its influence on the exchange rate of the Czech crown to Euro.
The Usage of Documentary Payment Instruments When Financing International Trade

The diploma thesis deals with two documentary payment methods commonly used in international trade transactions - a documentary collection and a documentary letter of credit. These instruments are regarded as an important part of both international trade and banking. Both the instruments are characterized in detail. Their advantages and disadvantages are analyzed in comparison with other instruments with same and similar functions. A part of the thesis is devoted to the importance (position) of documentary payment instruments in international trade, and to current trends in their usage. The last part focuses on the documentary collection and the documentary letter of credit in the Czech Republic - from the point of view of their offer, price, and the demand for them.
The Impact of Financial Crisis on Competitivness of Czech Exporting Companies

The goal of this thesis is to analyze what the impact of current financial crisis and economic slowdown will be on Czech exporting companies. Firstly the causes of financial crisis are described. it is followed by the analysis of the primary impact of financial crisis in the Czech Republic - the impact on banking sector and liquidity. The economic slowdown on foreign markets is considered as the secondary impact. Finally some possible solutions on how to improve the competitiveness are offered.
Global trends in development of foreign direct investment

The reasons that motivate companies to invest abroad (foreign direct investment, or FDI) and also the risks associated with FDI and international business in general are discussed. Current global trends in FDI are covered with emphasis on general, territorial and sectoral trends as well as state policy influences. The impact of the current financial crisis on FDI is also examined. Practical examples are discussed to reinforce individual ideas and theories.

Diplomová práce se věnuje vstupu a uplatnění malých strojírenských podniků na zahraničních trzích. Ty mají oproti velkým společnostem těžší pozici při získávání přímých vývozních zakázek, na druhou stranu se stále častěji zapojují do větších exportních operací jako subdodavatelé právě silnějších koncernů. V diplomové práci je navíc rozebrána pozice podniků strojírenských. Je popsán jejich vývozní potenciál na základě tradice a vysoké odbornosti českých strojírenských firem. Práce ukazuje na specifika uplatnění průmyslového podniku na zahraničním trhu a zabývá se konkrétní českou firmou, její typickou vývozní zakázkou včetně shrnutí důležitých faktorů pro možnost uplatnění firmy v zahraničí a rozebrání dalších možností rozvoje.

V jednotlivých kapitolách jsou uvedené výhody a nevýhody jeho použití, typy dokumentárních akreditivů, použitelnost akreditivu a dokumenty používané při akreditivních operacích. Poslední kapitola je zaměřená na eUCP, elektronický akreditiv a systémy elektronického akreditivu.

Práce se zabývá podobou a fungováním úvěrového pojištění se státní podporou v České republice. Podává přehled o situaci na trhu a využívání tohoto produktu českými vývozci. Dále se zabývá výkladem mezinárodních pravidel regulujících tuto oblast státní podpory a zkoumání dopadů těchto pravidel na praxi státních exportních pojišťoven. Zvláštní pozornost je věnována Konsenzu OECD a legislativě EU pro tuto oblast.
The Use of Venture Capital for Company's International Expansion

Private equity is described as medium to long term financing of non-quated companies with high growth potential. Venture capital refers to investments made to get the companies off the ground or to expand. This thesis describes an investment process with focus on its crucial parts, identifies factors that make from venture capital a suitable partner for expanding abroad and analyzes development of provate equity funds in Central and Eastern Europe.
