Due to the location at the gate of the area of Hlubina mine and also representativeness of the "Bathroom" building I decided to design the entrance floor as a public space, opened to everyone. Place, where past, present and future of the area are presented together. There are exhibition places, library, archives, book shop and also some snack bar for visitors.

Malovcová, Zoe ; Zemánek, Václav (referee) ; Zemánková, Helena (advisor)
Diploma thesis completes with its design large project of Wanemi company, a.s. in energetics sphere and paper industry. The area of planned paper mill in Industrial zone „Leštinská“ in Zábřeh is logically divided into three functionally graduated zones- zone of production, zone of extend and enter zone. The enter zone makes up some „green“ borderline between road lined ground of paper factory and production areal itself. The task of diploma thesis was to design complex solution of this enter „green“ zone, included situation and design of presentation pavilion and administration building objects.

Pavelka, Vojtěch ; Zemánek, Václav (referee) ; Zemánková, Helena (advisor)
This is a single-storied building of 1025 square metres space and with an accessible roof through a footbridge designed even for disabled. It is implanted into the entrance zone of green in front of the ecological paper-mill. The presentation and exhibition pavillion should be an extraordinary and reprezentativ object. The building will be placed among green and it aspires to exist in harmony with it. Thus it behaves as its‘ component. Concept is based on an idea of cellulose threads, which is primary structure of an organic stuff. „The threads“ form a supporting structure and determine the platform. The glass facade and even the interior come through three colours, that present the paper making process and even carry an aesthetic benefit. The facade systems utilize energy – they react to the Sun and air movement and even they compose an ornament.

Machovská, Věra ; Zemánek, Václav (referee) ; Zemánková, Helena (advisor)
In order to achieve a uniform impression of proposed territory, I connected to my previous work, in which I solved a space of biocenter. A proposal of off-road ramparts, which optically connected to hills behind a factory, was the main idea of the biocenter. Consequently, the huge area of factory objects was decomposed. During proposing of presentation pavilion a building in the form of off-road ramparts was created. This building then will be naturally harmonized with character of park in the solved green belt.

The diploma thesis deals with the entrance zone objects nearby a to-be-built energetic-paper mill factory WANEMI, Inc. in Zábřeh. It consists of two objects: a presentation pavilion and an administrative building. My design combines a function of parking and administration into one single object to occupy less land. Garages are intersected by a big open skylight in the middle with some trees planted in - this way people are moving as if in the treetops. The exhibition pavilion is situated in the intersection of main view axes to landscape dominants. Their extension is projected even into the interior where they determine main spaces. Visitor of the building climbs the way up along the important views to finish his way upstairs in the main hall.
Conversion of Beuron Chapel
Burgerová, Lenka ; Zemánek, Václav (referee) ; Zemánková, Helena (advisor)
The chapel of the former boromeian closter in Teplice is an important example of the work of monastery art school of benedictins of Beuron. The closter, today the building of the high school of Teplice, was built on the place of former city walls, connected by a prestigeous bouleward with the city center. Today, the building is surrounded by a non-valuable buildings, the bouleward is full of transport during the whole day and near is a highway. The old architectural structure was mainly destroyed and replaced by block of flats made of concrete. The topic ic getting the life back into the building and connect the building back into the public space, to join the "public=city" with the "private=school". The topic is to gain back the dignity and certain monumentality. The topic is to create the space for school activities, workschops, meetings, exhibitions, happenings, and last, but not least, weddings. The high school students should be the future intelectual elity of the space and newly reconstructed space may has the power to reinforce their linkage with the place, which can possibly mean they will search for a job in Teplice after their university studies. I belive, that the architecture has the power to attach the people to the space and to establish the genius loci. And such an opening of the space deserve the gymnasium and the chapel (which is not known to the public in Teplice) 20 years after the Velvet revolution, which itselves, was an opening of the space on the level of politics.
Conversion of Gas - Works, Ostrava - DOV
Dvořáčková, Kateřina ; Zemánek, Václav (referee) ; Zemánková, Helena (advisor)
The subject of my diploma project is reconversion of a gasholder placed in Ostrava Vitkovice. The gasholder is noted as national culture heritage and is strongly contaminated. The concept is following the functional structure of the objects around and counts with their new use. The gasholder is placed in the middle of the area and lays on the crossing of conjuction of the main dominant s of the area. These cojuctions create streets which meet in the middle of the gasholder and create the square. The gasholder has now two faces, the old one faces the area is monofunctional and the other, new one faced to the inside is polyfunctional. The square is covered by the existing roof construction and creates safe place full of nice views and visual conjunctions of the main dominants.

Navrátil, Oldřich ; Zemánek, Václav (referee) ; Zemánková, Helena (advisor)
In my diploma project I do reconstruction and looking for new program for old industrial building in Vitkovice iron factory area. This building is part of Cultural heritage and we have to apply all heritage criteria on this. The building is big hall - big space with two old machines. Now the machines don’t work anymore. My idea is to connect this old indutry area with the rest of the city – with still living part of the city – and bring here new life. Students are new young blood. So I decided to put on part of Ostrava Technology University here. The other buildings will be used as a business center and research center. Great interaction for future – University, Business and Research center.
