Photoimpedace spectroscopy characterization of the perovskit photovoltaic cells
Henek, Tomáš ; Vaněk, Jiří (referee) ; Novák, Vítězslav (advisor)
This work studies the subject of perovskite solar cells. The structure of perovskites is described along with a portion of photovoltaics history that led to the employment of perovskites as absorpsion layers. Further, methods of measurement for solar cells such as impedance spectroscopy, photospectroscopy and load characteristics are summarized. Lastly there is a description of already done analytics of perovskite solar cells with the summary of the results. In the practical part, there are measurements made to find out any effect of cell topology or light source wavelength on the cell performance.
Waste heat recovery from technological processes
Bednařík, Jakub ; Bača, Petr (referee) ; Vaněk, Jiří (advisor)
Master thesis deals with the utilization of waste heat from Nova Mosilana company. Theoretical part of this work is focused on the waste heat description (heat, heat quantity, heat temperature/quality, composition of waste stream) in which a considerable energy potential is hidden. The other parts describe waste heat technology, especially heat pumps, Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) and system absorption cooling. Some of the technologies described in the theoretical part are used in the design of the more efficient existing waste heat utilization, especifically power and cold production.
Small photovoltaic power station
Cingel, Štefan ; Maule, Petr (referee) ; Vaněk, Jiří (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with the principle of photovoltaic phenomenon and the distribution of photovoltaic systems. It also informs the reader about the possibilities of using the "Green Savings" subsidy within the program "New Green Savings" of the Ministry of the Environment. Last, but not least, it maps the energetic demands of the family house and, on the basis of it, presents the possible design of the photovoltaic system, including the estimation of the economic return.
The Internet of Things in Practice
Bajgl, Vojtěch ; Vaněk, Jiří (referee) ; Vyroubal, Petr (advisor)
The subject of this diploma thesis, is the Internet of Things, and its use in applied practice, with a subsequent design of a custom system of smart home automatization. It acquaints the reader with the issues of automated home and smart systems, including a basic familiarization of regulations as declared by law about electronic devices. The attributes of miniature computer platforms, developmental boards, and wireless modules for the design of custom systems are analyzed and compared. The biggest part of the thesis is dedicated to a design of a custom system, specifically designing the central processing module and other controlling modules for controlling various electric home appliances. The main controlling unit of the system is a Raspberry Pi 2B unit, with which it is possible to control a device in a household through an user-friendly web application.
Pulse charging of lead-acid accumulator using negative current steps
Kantor, Pavel ; Vaněk, Jiří (referee) ; Křivík, Petr (advisor)
The lead-acid batteries are the most commonly used electrochemical power sources and are the oldest type of secondary battery cells. This master thesis provides a short introduction to the lead-acid batteries. It shows possible ways of sorting from different points of view, describes construction of lead-acid batteries, parameters of lead-acid batteries and electrochemical and physical reactions inside the battery. Futher the thesis deals with pulse charging of lead-acid batteries. The thesis describes the production of a set of experimental electrodes for electrochemical workplace resources. The thesis introduces the develepment environment Agilent VEE PRO and demonstrates its capabilities. The final part of this thesis are experiments focusing on the pulse charging using negative current pulses and evaluate the effect of different pulse modes on cells.
Optimization of the solar system designed for DHW school canteens heating
Doskočil, Filip ; Vaněk, Jiří (referee) ; Bača, Petr (advisor)
Masters’s thesis describes the use of solar energy for solar thermal systems used for domestic hot water heating. It is about the size of the incident solar radiation on Earth. Distributes various types of solar collectors for water heating. It deals with the monitoring, remote management of this system and the design of optimal control used in this area.
Photovoltaic cell for concentrator system
Straškraba, Vojtěch ; Solčanský, Marek (referee) ; Vaněk, Jiří (advisor)
The subject of this master’s thesis is to introduce concentrator photovoltaic systems. Main subject of presented work are photovoltaic cells and their features and characteristics. The work deals with physical fundamentals of solar cells, type of cells and their specifics and discusses possible treatment for achieving better characteristics of concentrator systems. In the practical part is realized measurement and analysis of electrical characteristics of 9 different monocrystalline silicon cells. From those is the most efficient cell chosen for further use as reference cell.
Secondary prevention practice and prognosis of patients after ischemic stroke
Vaněk, Jiří ; Mayer, Otto (advisor) ; Rokyta, Richard (referee) ; Vítovec, Jiří (referee)
SECONDARY PREVENTION PRACTICE AND PROGNOSIS OF PATIENTS AFTER ISCHEMIC STROKE JIŘÍ VANĚK, M.D. 2nd Department of Internal Medicine, Medical Faculty of Charles University and University Hospital, Pilsen, Czech Republic ABSTRACT It is evident that cerebrovascular disease including ischemic stroke belongs to the most common cause of disability or death in the world population. Secondary prevention in poststroke patiens can lead to reduce risk of recurrence or extend lifetime like in coronary heart disease (CHD). The principles of secondary prevention are well implemented in population with CHD, but the situation in poststroke patients is quite different. The assesment of secondary prevention in poststroke patiens and a comparison with patient with CHD was selected for a goal of this study. The study population consisted of Czech patients examined in the framework of well-defined surveys in patients after their first ischemic stroke. Patients represented pooled Czech samples of the project EUROASPIRE Stroke Modul or Stroke Survey in 2007 and in 2013. Better results in acute care were detected. Admissions in stroke unit in 2013 were realized more often than 2007 and fibrinolisis was aplicated more frequently too. On the contrary, arterial hypertension wasn't controlled better than the general population of...

New Ecological Paradigm as a research approach in the Czech Republic: An analysis of environmental attitudes of Czechs
Vaněk, Jiří ; Ščasný, Milan (advisor) ; Soukup, Petr (referee)
This thesis focus on the New Ecological Paradigm (NEP) and its measurement instrument New Ecological Paradigm scale. Thesis introduces the New Ecological Paradigm as opposite type of thinking to the Human Exemptionalism Paradigm and provides historical context of the creation of the revised version of the New Ecological Paradigm scale. We carried out a secondary analysis of the data from survey about the European climate change policy acceptance conducted by Ščasný et al in year 2015. Thesis then examined the extent to which people from the Czech Republic, the Great Britain and the Poland endorse the New Ecological Paradigm and found out that the Czechs have the higher environmental concern than people from the Great Britain and the Poland. Furthermore, this thesis use Cronbach`s and factor analysis to discover, that the New ecological paradigm scale is internally consistent yet multidimensional instrument in case of the three surveyed countries. Regression analysis discovered that not only gender and age are significant socio-demographic predictors for the NEP results as income, education, size of municipality and current occupation are also relevant across the three surveyed countries. Lastly, regression analysis verified that the direct correlation between the general environmental values measured by the...
