Enantioselective synthesis of fluorinated organic compounds using iminium and enamine catalysis

This diploma thesis deals with the scope of organocatalytic concept for the preparation of enantiomerically pure organic compounds, containing fluorine atom. Our attention was focused on the use of easily available α,β-unsaturated aldehydes and ketones as starting materials and commercially available secondary amines as catalysts. The first part of the work is dedicated to the enantioselective cyclization reaction of hydrazone (24) with cyclohex-2-enone (25). The second part describes a study of enantioselective nucleophilic addition of diethyl 2-fluoromalonate (31a) to α,β-unsaturated aldehydes (30) via enamine activation.

Simple Experiments with Naturally Occurring Materials in ChemistryEducation: Support of Empirical Method and Development of Related Competences

173 Summary The doctoral thesis is focused on the problem of gaining empirical knowledge in chemistry education, on the acquirement of related competences, and on the activities which would contribute to the improvements in chemistry education in this area. The aims set in the first part of the thesis were fulfilled. I have confirmed the insufficient level of the competences acquirement among the Czech students, such as formulation and verification of a hypothesis, planning and carrying out a simple experiment, interpretation of collected data or drawing conclusions. Main cause of this problem could be insufficient opportunity to develop these competences in school chemistry (or science) education at ground and high school level. Experimental activities of individual students are rare in Czech chemistry lessons. The teachers quote that the main problem responsible for this situation is missing equipment for practical activities in their schools and absence of suitable school experiments reflecting the given safety directives. Considering these findings, I have created a set of simple chemistry experiments utilizing natural products and substances The experiments are suitable for the individual work of students and for chemistry education even at schools without a laboratory or special science classroom....

Biochemistry in High School Education

In conclusion I would like to highlight the fact that I believe all aims were fulfilled. The results of the educational materials analysis show that there is none sufficiently suitable complex educational program on the market that could help teaching biochemistry at secondary schools. There are animations and presentations available on the Internet, but their level is far too high for the secondary schools. The animations are usually available only in the English version. The questionnaire investigation has shown that the vast majority of schools are equipped with basic computer instrumentation and other necessary equipment (data projector, screen) to be able to include the modern information technologies into the educational process. The teachers would welcome any teaching aids aimed on the Photosynthesis, Citric acid cycle, Metabolisms and Proteosynthesis. As the questionnaire investigation showed the most problematic parts of the biochemistry subject matter, I have prepared the educational text targeting these areas of biochemistry. This text was divided to form the basis for two tutoring programs: "Biochemical Processes in Human Body" and "Photosynthesis in Dynamic Animations". Subject of the bachelor´s thesis is single-family, serial familial house in Brno-Chrlice. The building is designed in flat terrain. The main entrance is oriented to the southeast. Consists of one basement and two storey (floor). The house is bulit from building systém VELOX. Roof is flat with green, roof of outbuilding is saddle.
