Comparison of Czech, Russian and English simile

This bachelor thesis is dedicated to similes in Czech, Russian and English languages. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with the influence of culture on language and summarizes the basic knowledge of the phraseology and terminology associated with it (phraseological unit, idiom and simile). The practical part of the thesis analyses the specific similes in Czech, Russian and English languages, dividing them into categories on the basis of their meaning and according to the degree of their mutual equivalence. It presents the meaning of Czech, Russian and English simile, including examples of the use of phraseological units in Russian literature, organised into several tables. The tables also include symbols, which stand for full or partial degree of equivalence as well as for unequal similes. The aim of this work is to confirm or disprove a hypothesis set in advance regarding the degree of influence of closely related languages on the equivalence of idioms.

Theoretical part provides characteristics of this part of speech and highlights some differences between Russian and English. Language typology clarifies particularly features which are typical for synthetic and analytical languages. The second chapter is concerned with an overview of possible classifications of adjectives where these classifications are organized according to syntactical, morphological and semantic point of view. Practical part is devoted to the comparison itself. To attain clear arrangement, rules for the creation of comparative and superlative adjectival forms are described for each language separately. The main facts about comparison in both languages are then compared in the last chapter of the bachelor thesis. It compares Czech and Russian phraseologisms. Theoretical part of the thesis deals with the phraseology itself and concentrates on the concepts such as phraseologism, idiom, proverb, comparison, etc. Practical part of the thesis analyses concrete Czech and Russian phraseological units involving the names of animals. These phrases are compared and determined taking into account the extent of their equivalence. Synoptic charts provide the meaning and origin of the Czech and Russian phraseologisms according to specialized phraseological and etymological dictionaries. The extent of equivalence of particular phraseologisms is defined in these charts. The aim of this bachelor thesis is to compare Russian and Czech phraseologisms mainly from their content and formal points of view, and find out the extent of their equivalence. Interlingual Homonyms in Czech - Russian Comparative Frame

This bachelor thesis deals with interlingual Czech-Russian homonyms and their typology. The theoretical part of the thesis is concerned with paradigmatic relations, namely with antonymy, synonymy, polysemy and paronymy where an individual chapter devoted to the clarification and classification of homonyms and interlingual homonyms as such. The practical part consists of a dictionary of interlingual Czech-Russian homonyms. Each homonymic pair is given in a separate table in order to create a well-arranged system. The examples of sentences or collocations, which the given entries contain, are also presented in each table. The aim of the thesis is to create a dictionary of interlingual Czech-Russian homonyms which could be used as a tool in teaching Russian. It also presents a theoretical overview of interlingual homonymy with focus on Czech-Russian comparative perspective.

4 TITLE: Teaching aids for work with verbs of movement at elementary level in Russian language teaching SUMMARY: This diploma thesis deals with the topic of Russian verbs of movement. The aim of the thesis is to compile a comprehesive set of practical exercises and additional teaching materials (work sheets), which can be used as a supporting material in Russian language teaching. The set of practical exercises and additional teaching material is suitable for students at the age of thirteen years and above. The thesis is divided into two parts - theoretical and practical. The teoretical part defines verbs of movement from a linguistic aspect and generally characterizes the didactic approaches to teaching foreign language grammar. Practical part includes a comprehensive set of practical exercises and additional teaching materials focused on a presentation and practice of selected verbs of movement. TITLE: Use of illustration in Russian language teaching. ABSTRACT: The aim of the thesis is the illustration, using the principle of clarity in the teaching of foreign languages and an analysis of interactive textbook for Russian Raduga po-novomu 1 in comparison with its printed form. The basis of the work creates the monitoring of progress of the concept of clarity, the using of visual aids and different teaching methods from J. A. Comenius to the present, when we have a modern education technique at the disposal, which allows the application of the principle of illustration in all its forms. The survey questionnaire form is designed to measure the level of popularity of modern teaching techniques for visual teaching. Mistake management in a foreign language classroom

The aim of the thesis is to design general recomendations on mistake management in a foreign language classroom which would meet both teachers' and learners' requirements and methods of mistake management in a foreign language classroom which would contribute to development of learners' communicative competence. The following methods were used in the research: analysis of literature on pedagogy, psychology and methodology of foreign language teaching, interview, questionnaire and observation. Thirteen general recommendations and fifteen methods of mistake management in a foreign language classroom which contribute to the development of learners' communicative competence were designed as a result of the research.
German loanwords in Russian and Czech languages

This thesis is concerned with German loanwords in Russian and Czech languages. The main aim was to create a dictionary based on comparison of phonetically resembling equivalents of German words in Russian and Czech, to explain their semantic and stylistic differences and classify them with respect to their productive or perceptive character. In order to achieve this goal first of all it was necessary to establish a key to choose the words which will be used in this work. For this task Краткий этимологический словарь русского языка: Пособие для учителя was selected as the main source. The choice was made due to a fact that this book is intended for primary and secondary school teachers and, therefore, contains words which are most likely to appear while teaching Russian language. The only criterion for choosing words from this book was whether they are loanwords from German or not. All the words borrowed from German were first translated into Czech. If there were not any translations which have similar pronunciation to the original Russian word a phonetically resembling word was chosen. In case similar words with German origin are found in both Czech and Russian their meaning and stylistic usage in contemporary language are compared. The work is divided into five chapters.
