Fuel Characteristics of Flax (Linum usitatissimum) Applied for Phytoremediation of Industrially Contaminated Sites
Šyc, Michal ; Pohořelý, Michael ; Toufarová, H. ; Žáčková, P. ; Punčochář, Miroslav
Expansion of energetic crops growing leads to the need of cultivation of soil that was not used so far. Flax as an energetic crop is possible to grow on insdustrially contaminated sites. Furthermore, heavy metals bioaccumulation ability of flax caused remediation of contaminated soils by moving them to phytomass. This phytoremediation method is called phytoextraction and it is one of the phytoremediation technologies. Fuel characteristics and usability of flax for selected heavy metals (Cu, Pb, Zn, Cd, Hg, Cr, Ni, As) phytoextraction are presented in short-paper.
Detailed Composition of the Low-Calorific Producer Gas from the Fluid-Bed Gasification of Biomass.
Pohořelý, Michael ; Vosecký, Martin ; Skoblia, Sergej ; Kameníková, Petra ; Punčochář, Miroslav ; Vošta, J. ; Svoboda, Karel
The gaseous product from gasification (producer gas) can be effectively utilized in a variety of ways including power generation, production of chemicals, fuels for transport and substitution of natural gas for heating. The gasification technology, needed gas composition and cleaning, tolerable contents of impurities, toxic compounds and heating value of the producer gas are determined usually by the end user of the gas.
Účinnost odsiřování v sub-stechiometrickém tlakovém spalování uhlí – teoretické a praktické problémy
Svoboda, Karel ; Pohořelý, Michael ; Schosger, J.-P. ; Baxter, D. ; Rogut, J.
This paper deals with a comparison of pressurized thermogravimetric (TG) analyses of desulfurization with Cizkovice limestone under steady state reducing conditions at temperatures 800 and 900 oC and operating pressure 1 MPa with the same limestone under conditions of sub-stoichiometric PFBC of coals at air/fuel ratio = 0.75. Comparison of attainable degree of desulfurization in the PFBC and composition of solid product with theoretical predictions of desulfurization efficiency and with results of TG analyses has shown that desulfurization in sub-stoichiometric PFBC is more complicated involving formation and reduction of CaSO4.
Release and Partition of Selected Alkali Metals and Heavy Metals in Pressurized Substoichiometric Combustion of Coals
Čermák, Jiří ; Svoboda, Karel ; Pohořelý, Michael
In our contribution the comparison of pressurized bed substoichiometric combustion of three various kinds of subbituminous coal is presented.
Substoichiometric PFBC, desulfurization and partition of selected elements
Svoboda, Karel ; Čermák, Jiří ; Hartman, Miloslav ; Pohořelý, Michael
The report deals with pressurized TG-analysis of gas desul-furization under reducing conditions (800-900 oC), laboratoryexperiments on substoichiometric PFBC at 800 oC and desulfu-rization and with partition of selected elements among variousash size fractions in fluidized bed combustion under variousconditions.
Emise oxidů dusíku a chování těžkých kovů při atmosférickém fluidním spalování vysušeného čistírenského kalu
Pohořelý, Michael ; Svoboda, Karel ; Hartman, Miloslav ; Vošta, J.
It seems that increasing amount of heavy metals is transfered to fly ash under higher gas flow rates, as effect of particle attrition and entrainment from the FB. The experimental results suggest that for efficient combustion of dried sewage sludge in static or circulating fluidized bed the temperature should be higher than 850°C.
Modeling of Transformation of Coal-N to Nitrogen Oxides in Fluidized Bed Combustion
Svoboda, Karel ; Pohořelý, Michael
The report contains an overview of transformation phenomena and reactions for coal nitrogen leading to nitrogen oxides emissions. Initial nitrogen in volatile matter from coals is considered in three forms: NH3, HCN and N2. The precursors (NH3 and HCN) are oxidized primarily to NO and N2O and further they react with carbon, CO and NH3. The nitrogen from coal-char is directly oxidized to NO ane N2O,which can be reduced by carbon and CO. An attempt has been made to quantitatively characterize effect of coal properties and combustion conditions on nitrogen oxides emissions.
