My aim was to build on the street buildings and the horizontal line adjacent materials . On the corner there is a breach of negative corner that serves as an entrance to the building . It also serves as a public space with the possibility of a summer garden cafe and the space in the theatre . The space between buildings incurred to complete the perforated screen. Perforation ensures sufficient intimacy of interior space, but also allows contact with the public space . The screen also brings a staircase whose arms linking the two spaces . The idea is to divide buildings into more fuel, which would protect the inner space formed from the noise outward and through the neighborhood . Increasing the inner atrium of one floor is created intimate garden space with a water feature . Following the arch are the expression of individual floors with residential units made available galleries located on the inner sides . This element would revitalize the internal space as possible meeting place . The house provides recovery through the streets multifunctional parter . In the street adjacent to the old dance studio is located a cafe . Both are open to the street space through the glazing. Cafe uses of public space , created a negative corner , for use in the summer. In the street adjacent to Bratislava are located commercial space for rent . Spaces are partially shielded front wall expanded metal , which, however, can be summed up to one side. The material located on Street Stará has a regular grid of windows underlined storing facing bricks. Layout and structure reveal the residential use of the building . The material is placed on the street Bratislavská is the southern facade covered with a screen of expanded metal. Revitalization Program of Floral Garden in Kromeriz
Bartošová, Klára ; Nový, Alois (referee) ; Nový, Vítězslav (advisor)
The flower garden was designed in a spirit of a rennaisance vision of the world (an attitude to the universe, the nature and a human being) as an imaginary drama taking place in a scene of walls and objects. The original idea was to enter the garden from the centre of a collonade. The front garden – an orangery, a dutch garden and a menagerie – had a function of a supplementary area. This area didn´t depend on a strict garden order, it was possible to enter each part of the front garden from the main garden. In the 18th century, the main entrance was relocated to a newly built court of honour atrium situated in the front garden. The original purpose of the garden composition was restraint by this change. Also the front garden was converted throughout the years. In the course of years all three components of the front garden were trilaterally interconnected and an axe going through all these three parts was created. Partial axes of the main garden composition started to penetrate into the front garden. A revitalisation of the front garden offers the possibility to direct visitors to the original garden entrance. This would allow the visitors to see the original designer´s intension. The design of the front garden is a synthesis of its authentic idea and its evolution during centuries. It is considered as one of its stages, of those preceding as well as of those following. This stage respects the dominating flower garden as well as the court of honour. Furthermore, this stage presents all functions of the area.

This diploma thesis deals with possibilities of designing contemporary buildings in the historical context of the city center. Emphasis is placed on the urban integration of new volumes into the current structure of the city and the place with its genius loci. The result of the design should be houses with a character and clear layout, using high-quality materials, especially with different forms and modifications of the plaster that is typical for the construction industry in Central Europe. The suggestion is the author's answer to the question of a "normal house" in the city center.

Lachman, Pavel ; Havelka, Pavel (referee) ; Nový, Vítězslav (advisor)
In search of the genius loci - the spirit of the place we can use the principles of phenomenology applied to the landscape, architecture. With this approach we are able to describe the abstract phenomena and processes in the landscape. We are looking for the character of places, places make landscape. By attempting to delimit, define the character of the place, we are able to grasp the landscape, the world. Landscape can be divided into three species, assessing character, clarity, scale, presence of water, structure, identity: romantic, classical, cosmic. Based on the analytical pre-diploma thesis, I select the "triangle" site between the dykes as suitable for minor intervention in the form of a new building of cultural and tourist importance for the village of Strachotín and its surroundings. Functions respond to the need of strengthen the identity and uniqueness of the place, the village in the countryside, the position of the township in the wider area. This is where the tension, the potential, the force that needs to be used are contained. There are two landscapes on the dyke, cosmic and classical. There is a scale change here. The water scenery is a purely technical matter, the dam is a human creation, the dyke is a technology that allows water to be retained. On the other hand, it is a natural, classical landscape that gives life to the people who settled there years ago and built a village for themselves. The phenomenon of water-water surface of the reservoir, earth-landscape and air-sky are encountered on the edge. The approach to the village itself is symbolic, along the dam, on the road, the curve of hills with a view in the back plan, the central plan completes the walls of the trees that surround the village. The dominant feature of the church's tower verticals. In order to exploit the potential of the dam as a landscape interface, it is possible to create an object or modify the site itself. However, it can not ideally compete with the already created. The church tower will always symbolize the relationship of the spiritual and secular, imaginary connection with heaven, not the goal of trying to overcome this dominance. The goal is to engage organically, but not to go, to take advantage of the unique moment of sight, awareness of the place.

Riverside House
Šperlová, Zuzana ; Foretník, Jan (referee) ; Nový, Vítězslav (advisor)
The paper deals with problematics of habitation by an artificial river bed, which was never intended to be part of the public areas of the city. In the work, the urban solution is made of a wider area around the river and its connection to the existing urban structure. Residential houses by the river are designed on unusually narrow parcels, which is inspired by the construction of houses along the rivers in the Netherlands. Another part of the work is the design of an apartment house with a functional ground floor on one of the inner parcels. Given the possibility of opening apartments only at the front and the back of the house, there is problem with lighting and ventilation of the apartment space. This problem has been resolved by creating a gap between a neighboring house and opening the apartments in this gap. This creates two types of apartments, oriented east to the river and west to the city. Spaces are divided as little as possible into individual rooms due to illumination to the depth of the apartment.
