Integral representation theorems in noncompact cases

Classical Choquet's theory deals with compact convex subsets of locally convex spaces. This thesis discuss some aspects of generalization of Choquet's theory for a broader class of sets, for example those which are assumed to be only closed and bounded instead of compact. Because Radon measures are usually defined for locally compact topological spaces, and this is not the case of the closed unit ball in a Banach space of infinite dimension, there are used the so called Baire measures in this setting. This thesis particularly deals with the question of existence of resultants of these measures, with the properties of the resultant map, with the analogy of Bauer's characterization of extreme points and with some other concepts known from compact theory. By using some examples we show that many of these theorems doesn't hold in noncompact setting. We also mention forms of these theorems which can be proved.

Immunesuppressive treatment of Crohn's disease in children

Crohn disease (CD) treatment in children doesn't differ from adults today. The main role in management of disease play systemic corticosteroids (CS) and immunesupressants. Aims: 1) evaluate efficacy and hepatotoxicity of 6-thioguanine (6-TG) on mice model of experimental colitis. 2) evaluate time to steady state of 6-thioguanine nucleotides after azathioprine (AZA) treatment initiation in children with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). 3) evaluate dose (incl. cumulative dose) of CS applied through the first year after diagnosis according to disease activity. 4) AZA steroid sparing effect analysis in week 52 of follow up. Methods: 1) Dextran sodium sulfate colitis was induced in 50 mice (BALb/c F) for 9 days, treatment with placebo, AZA and 6-TG started at once. Study was terminated on day 14. 2) inclusion criteria: new IBD diagnosis, AZA treatment. Steady state analysis was performed by high performance liquid chromatography. 3-4) inclusion criteria: age 0-19, CD (according to Porto criteria), prospective disease activity assessment, follow-up at least 52 weeks. Results: 1) 6-TG is highly effective in acute phase of experimental colitis (p<0.01), liver toxicity was not ascertained. 2) Median time to steady state of 6-TG nucleotides was 29.7 days (8.4-156), 75.4 days represented time to steady state...

Occurrence of Harmful Substances in Snowboarding

Název práce: Výskyt zdraví škodliyých látek ve snowboardingu Cíle práce: Snaha o změnu postoje společnosti k užívání lehkých drog ve snowboardingu (neposuzovat je jako doping, ale jako způsob projevu, životní filozofie. Metoda: Základní metodou, která byla použita na získávání potřebných informací, je dotazníková metoda. Výzkumu se zúčastnilo 67 snowboardistů a byl prováděn v zimních střediscích v České republice. Výsledky: Zjištění postoje snowboardistů na námi zkonstruované otázky, týkající se užívání zdraví škodlivých látek: Snowboardisté užívají marihuanu častěji než běžná populace, velká většina z nich tvrdí, že se po užití drogy kvalita jízdy nezlepšuje. Pouze 1/3 snowboardistů si myslí, že je pro snowboarding užívání lehkých drog typické, přitom se 95% z nich pohybuje mezi lidmi, kteří užívají marihuanu. Jacobians and Hessians in the Calculus of Variations

V této práci je studován distributivní jakobián, distributivní hesián a relaxace Jakobiánu a Hessiánu. Jsou zde uvedeny příklady zobrazení, pro něž "absolutně spojitá část" distributivního Jakobiánu nebo Hessiánu nesplývá s bodovým jakobiánem nebo Hessiánem. Dále je uvedena věta, umožňující určit singulární část jakobiánu pro některá zobrazení. V další části je zobecněna věta, umožňující určit za určitých podmínek relaxaci Jakobiánu, a věta, umožňující horní odhad relaxace Hessiánu pro některé funkce.
