Constraints and the evolution of egg size and juvenile size in amniotes
Kubát, Jan ; Kratochvíl, Lukáš (advisor) ; Hořák, David (referee)
Amniotes (mammals, reptiles including birds) exhibit wide diversity in egg/offspring size relatively to female body size. This study reviews mechanisms determining size of propagules (such as morphological or physiological constraints, trade-off between size versus number etc.). Particular attention is paid to comparison of allometric relationship in egg/offspring size among individual amniotic lineages.
Photoelectric transport in high resistivity CdTe

Title: Photoelectric transport in high resistivity CdTe Author: Ing. RNDr. Jan Kubát Institute: Institute of Physics of Charles University Supervisor: Doc. Ing. Jan Franc, DrSc. Supervisor's e-mail address: jan.franc@mff.cuni.cz Abstract: CdTe is one of the most promising material for fabrication of X-ray and gamma ray detectors. Despite a considerable effort invested in material development there are still problems remain to be solved and influence efficiency of charge collection. We focus on study of polarization of the sample due to space charge accumulated on deep levels in this work. Samples of CdTe doped with Cl, Sn, In and Ge were investigated. Measurements of spectral dependence of photocurrent and lux- ampere characteristics were done. We performed mathematical modeling of measured data using an approach based on a three level compensation model, and solution of drift-diffusion and Poisson equations. Concentration of deep levels 1011 -1013 cm-3 was revealed in semiinsulating CdTe by modeling. Contact method measurement for determination of µτ product using I-A characteristics and Hecht relation was applied. Mapping of CdTe and CdZnTe samples via contact and contactless method was performed and measurements were compared. Correlation analysis of maps of electric resistivity and photoconductivity has...
Detention and its role in international migration of foreigners in the Czech Republic
Kubát, Jan ; Drbohlav, Dušan (advisor) ; Janská, Eva (referee)
Detention and its role in international migration of foreigners in the Czech Republic Aims of thesis are evaluation of detention, its influence and role in migration processes of foreigners in Czech Republic, as a restrictive action against irregular migration which is applied within common homecoming politics of EU countries, followed by analysis of conditions and informal structures which are related to irregular migration issues in Czech Republic. Individual aims are accomplished in two steps. At first is discussed present knowledge of detention, its part in migration processes, and theoretical definition of irregular migration's and detention's issues. In theoretical section of diploma project is considered mainly the detention's function in migration process from the point of view of migration concepts, negative impact of irregular migration, smuggling and trafficking, client system, EU migration politics' approach to irregular migration, migration politics' restrictive instrument and measures leading to criminalization, securitization and extraterritoriality of irregular migration, law regulation of detention and its application within detention facilities in Czech republic. The second step comprises survey aiming on detention's function and influence in migration processes of 42 foreigners...
Photoelectric spectroscopy of deep elekctronic levels in high-resistance CdTe
Kubát, Jan
CdTe is one of the most interesting X-ray and g-ray detectors' material. This work deals with influence of deep levels to photoelectric properties of CdTe. PICTS, Lux-Ampere and spectral dependences measurements at room temperature and low temperature 10K were performed on one undoped and several variously doped (Cl, Sn and Ge) samples and applied electrical fields up to 800V.cm-1. Experimental setups are introduced. Room temperature numerical solution of sample photoelectrical properties for typical midgap level using driftdiffusion and Poisson equation was performed and results are discussed. The experimentally observed slopes of Lux-ampere characteristics and energy shifts of the main photoconductivity peak with the applied voltage are explained based on a model of screening of electric field by charge accumulated on deep levels. Finally comparison with acquired experimental data is performed yielding estimates of maximum total concentration of deep levels in the samples.

NEW ON THE „OLD“ – Brno, Bratislavská - Stará Corner
Kubát, Jan ; Uřídilová, Marcela (referee) ; Pelčák, Petr (advisor)
Design of corner house, a block of flats in the deprived neighborhood near the centre of the city. It is situated on the crossing of Bratislavská and Stará street. The parterre is used by a co-working centre and by small pastry and book shop. The parterre draws the line between rush streets and still court, which serves to residents. House noninvasively complements existing structures and brings the impulse for change. The proposal also addresses the urban and social outreach.
RESTORING THE PILGRIMAGE TRADITION
Kubát, Jan ; Adamková, Jana (referee) ; Havliš, Karel (advisor)
Finding the meaning of architecture in the Broumov region and restoring the pilgrimage tradition as well.
Harmonic Pattern Share Analysis
Kubát, Jan ; Musílek, Petr (advisor) ; Havlíček, David (referee)
The aim of this work is to test harmonic chart patterns on europen and american stock markets. The logic of classical chart patterns is based on behavioral psychology. In the year 1997, Larry Pesavento introduced harmonic chart patterns in his book "Fibonacci Ratios with Pattern Recognition" [1]. Harmonic chart patterns contain ratios based on fibonacci principle. Fibonacci principle is not based in behavioral psychology, it is based in natural law. Harmonic patterns are the first chart patterns, that are not based in behavioral psychology. The main goal of this work is to answer two questions: Is strategy based on harmonic chart patterns more profitable that pasive portfolio strategy? Are the harmonic chart patterns more profitable than the classical chart patterns?
Electricity market model of the Czech Republic
Kubát, Jan ; Pelikán, Jan (advisor) ; Kodera, Jan (referee) ; Marvan, Miroslav (referee)
A competitive electricity market has been established in many European countries including the Czech Republic. The electricity market includes a limited number of significant producers and traders, which can be described by oligopoly model. Since the electricity transmission and distribution are regulated, I consider two types of players performing in the electricity market: producers of electricity and traders, who buy electricity from producers and sell it to final customers. I derive oligopoly model with producers and traders "a la Cournot" and calculate a formula of equilibrium strategies. I use these theoretical findings to build a dynamic oligopoly model Ele. Ele is formulated as a mixed complementary problem and calibrated on data for the Czech Republic and neighbor states for several scenarios. The model was specified and calculated in GAMS software by the PATH solver. The results represent a Nash equilibrium. That means for individual producers: electricity generation, investment in new power plants construction and emission permits purchases. For traders the results are: equilibrium purchases, sales and cross-border transfers of electricity in each particular time period. Ele derives also equilibrium regional wholesale and retail electricity prices, emission permit prices and prices of cross-border auctions. Ele results point to an economic profitability of new nuclear power plants constructions. Further, I formulate a game in short-term electricity market, where I advise to Czech market participants, subjects of settlement, how much and in which circumstances to buy or sell electricity. Equilibrium results obtained through simulations based on the principle of a fictive game show that the current payment system of imbalance in the Czech Republic does not increase the risk of instability of electricity networks.
Technical analysis in the Intraday Trading
Kubát, Jan ; Veselá, Jitka (advisor)
The aim of this work is to create "Intraday concept", that could be used as a manual for amateur intraday traders to achieve systematic approach in the intraday trading. First part of this work defines general rules for intraday trading. Second part chooses technical indicatiors for intraday use. In the last part of this work are presented automatic trading systems and "Intraday koncept" is created on the basis of data gained in previous chapters.
