Sebera, Filip ; Tripes, Stanislav (advisor) ; Král, Pavel (referee)
The purpose of this bachelor thesis is to discover, if the sports managers behave accordingly to the general theory of management, in the environment of Czech professional leagues, specifically in Synot league and National Football League. The reason why I decided to do this research is, that there is not many studies that look specifically on sports managers. This thesis should explain the work of football managers and how they effectively use the 4 basic management functions in practice. To fulfil the main goal of this thesis I used qualitative research. The data were obtained by semi-structured interviews with specific responders. In total, there were 6 responders, where 3 of them work in the Synot league, and the other 3 work in National Football League. In the practical part of this thesis I interpret the collected data by using the coding of interviews in NVivo 11 software. All the results are published in the end of this thesis, which mostly explain using the 4 general management functions in general, but also how the managers use them specifically in practice. The results should help not only the sports managers, but also the public or students. The results could possible help other managers to improve their way of managing organizations and the public or students can get more insight on this topic in general.

Administration and Management of Football in the Czech Republic
Slavík, Michal ; Král, Pavel (advisor) ; Tripes, Stanislav (referee)
The Football Association of the Czech Republic (FACR) board election triggered speculations about the governance of the association last year. Specifically, principles of transparency and democracy in the association were remarked. The aim of the thesis was to assess the level of transparency and democracy in the governance of the FACR and to compare the evaluation of the FACR governance by different stakeholders. A case study research design was chosen. Multiple sources of data collection were combined such as document analysis, media coverage analysis, interviews and a questionnaire survey. Results reveal low democracy of the FACR governance in spite of democratic governance design. Stakeholders do not feel to be involved in governance of FACR and they do not have the oportunity to take part in this process. Stakeholders' perception of transparency was better than the objective assessment of transparency. In particular, the financial transparency was the lowest. Thus, results provide new evidence to assumption that transparency is not enrooted in the society of CEE countries and the perception of transparency is biased.
