A strategy for harmonization of professional and family life of women with university degree at the beginning of their professional career.

This thesis focuses on harmonisation of work and family life of female university graduates at beginning of their careers and at the time when they were taking care of babies up to five years of age. I have chosen this topic not only because it is rather an actual topic but also because I'm personally attached to it. My feminist research analysis is based on the theory of power and knowledge as is it described by Foucault and Butler. I was interested in original families of my communication partners where they grew up and where they adopted their social habits and behaviour. In the light of this social process, I have analysed what powers they had to face in their original families in terms of usage of gender stereotypes based on patriarchal layout of our society and preferential existence of one gender over the other. I have also focused on current families of my communication partners and on power relationships on the basis of which the process of harmonisation of professional and family life of my communication partners takes place, both in their private and public space. I have also analysed how social habits and behaviour gained during their childhood are implemented. The role of unions in promoting gender equality in employment relationships

Diploma thesis is focused on the issue of gender equality in labour relations in order to assess what role the trade unions can or could play in promoting gender equality. The theoretical part introduces the basic concepts of gender issues and outlines the historical development of unionization in the Czech lands. Attention is paid to legislative standards governing the conditions unionization and analysis of legal measures to promote equality in labour relations. The research focuses on analysis of the texts of collective agreements, and analyses semi- structured interviews performed with representatives of trade unions and the Committee on Equal Opportunities for Men and Women at Czech-Moravian Confederation of Trade Unions.

Queer geografie sexualit: sociokulturní organizace sexualit v prostoru a (de)konstrukce heteronormativity.

Geographies of sexualities started to develop within the Anglo-American academic context during the late 1980s. In the 1990s, propelled by the cultural turn, the swelling of post-structuralist and postmodern critiques, and a growing recognition of the limitations to scientific knowledge production and representation, geographers of sexualities introduced queer theory into human geography. Queer theory provided human geography with powerful tools for approaching not only straightforward spatialities of sexualities, but this new lens contributed to the development of human geographies as such. Currently, at least in the Anglo-Saxon geographical context, the field of geographies of sexualities is considered part of mainstream human geography. Therefore, the main goal of this thesis is to provide a few lines of reasoning for the development of geographies of sexualities in Czechia and Central Eastern Europe (CEE) and introduction of post-structuralist understandings, specifically queer theory. Power of ideology: Selective Gray's and Gruber's constructs

This master's thesis deals with the analysis of two popular psychological handbooks focusing on relationships between men and women, namely the book "Men are from Mars, women are from Venus" by American psychologist J. Gray, and the Czech equivalent "Why women can't understand men" by D. Gruber. The main research question of this thesis is how gender stereotypes are created in popular psychology literature and by what means they become naturalized. The theoretical starting point is both the influence of popular psychology on its audience as well as the introduction of the basic concepts in their relation to gender as an analytic category, gender order, gender stereotypes and mechanisms of forming and maintaining masculinity and femininity. Empirical research presents qualitative content analysis and discourse analysis of "Why men are from Mars", women are from Venus compared with the Czech book "Why women can't understand men". The research mainly focuses on how these two authors work with gender stereotypes about men and women and their forming of seemingly everlasting and universal gender binarism.

The analysis of movie characters of cyborg-woman from the perspective of the postmodern and post-theoretical approaches to the body and the identity constitution.

The thesis focuses on the analysis of the basic types of the film characters portraying artificial women: creatures who combine "femininity" (humanity) and technology, and who show female sexual characteristics or features that are stereotypically perceived as female-like (e.g. female cyborgs, female androids, female robots). The characters are analyzed and approached from the perspective of postmodern philosophy and post-theory studies; the forming of their body and identity is analyzed on the account of the narrative. The aim of the thesis is to explore whether the film representations of female cyborgs are similar to real cyborgs in the sense that they bring liberalization from the point if view of posthumanism and cyberfeminism, or whether they can only be perceived as the prime form of the Foucaltian body-as-machine, i.e. perfectly controllable precise technicist bodies which are created by the current power dispositions. A comparative analysis of female sexuality constructions in Czech professional literature within the years 1986 - 2014

In my diploma thesis I focus on the comparison of the construction of female sexuality in Czech professional sexological literature within the years 1986 - 2014. My aim is to reveal, through the critical reading, stereotyped mechanisms which are behind the discourse and to conclude where there has been any shift within the construction of female sexuality and the related topics in the past years, and where, on the contrary, there are still publications with certain limits. In the analysis I work only with literature written by the specialists in sexology and I come to the conclusions only through critical discourse analysis. Systems of Transgender Oppression in the Czech Republic: An Independent Analysis

The thesis deals with the normative discourse of transsexuality, both from a general cultural- historical perspective in the context of Western science and medicine and more specifically in the context of Czech sexology. On a detailed analysis of the publication Transsexualita: Diagnostika a léčba (Transsexuality: Diagnostics and Treatment), I illustrate the currently dominant conceptualization of transgender and/or transsexuality as a disorder, which, due to its normative influence, predetermines not only the possibilities of (self)identification available to trans* people in the Czech Republic, but also their treatment by Czech society and state institutions (e.g. in the conditions to be met for legal gender recognition, which still include compulsory sterilization). Methodologically, the thesis is chiefly grounded in discourse analysis, but it also shows an ethical standpoint in relation to the situation of Czech trans* people in the legal and medical systems. I also consider the factual dimension of transgender status and other expressions of gender diversity, primarily in maintaining a critical distance from the notions of their alleged pathology, still widespread in the normative sexological discourse. Gender analysis of the perception of original sin from the perspective of a sample of believers in the Czech community from Romania

In my thesis I deal with a biblical "myth" of the original sin and with a question how this topic can demonstrate the genesis of gender duality in a sense of superiority and inferiority using the authors catholic and feminist theology and subsequent data collection. The topic of the original sin is being analysed from a gender view -first in the theoretical part of the thesis that has helped me to continue to the following part of a research. The research consists of semi-structured interviews with a group of people belonging to a specific community. These people were born in the Czech villages in Romania and live nowadays in the Czech Republic. The original sin and its "myth" are still being presented at the level of a myth. His consequences remain in the background of the society and public attention. That is why I decided to deal with this topic. In this way I connect my own interest with this group, which includes a minority of a society with special characteristics. The aim of this thesis is to present the consequences of the original sin on a theoretical level and in terms of research, which I also contribute to with my interviews. And so to answer the research question regarding the influence of minority companies mostly from the standpoint of faith.
