Seasonal mortality

This bachelor thesis deals with the seasonality of mortality in the Czech Republic since the end of the 17th century to the present. In the theoretical part the used demographic terms and data sources are cleared up. The analytical part focuses on the development of mortality with a focus on seasonality. Emphasis is then placed on the period after 1989, and the differences in seasonal trends by cause of death. Further, the thesis is comparing the seasonality of mortality in the Czech Republic and Spain, where the two states were chosen for their different geographic location.

History and present state of immigration to France

The aim of this thesis is to provide comprehensive description of migration flows from Morocco and Algeria to France, relations that led to their creation and consequences in the form of existence of Moroccan and Algerian community in France. The first chapter is concerned with historical development or relations between these countries. The second chapter describes the creation of migration flows and the acceptance of immigrants in France. The last chapter is concerned with already existing Muslim community in France. The contribution of this thesis is the comprehensive description of the largest Muslim community in Europe, which can be used as a basis for other specialized demographic and sociologic works.

Frantisek Weyr and Statistics

This work is oriented to the statistics and the famous Czech actor in it,Frantisek Weyr. The aim of bachelor thesis is to provide comprehensive information about the life and work of an important lawyer, philosopher, scholar,and statistics Frantisek Weyr and theory emphasize its impact on Austria-Hungary and the Czechoslovak statistics. In addition, work will also be discussing the actual statistics and the development of concrete. Work will be only theoretical, no independent research it will not commit.To achieve the objective of the work will be used solely literary sources from the statistics and the very famous three-part biography Frantisek Weyr. The benefits of work I see that students and people in this area will provide more complete picture of Franz Weyr in the context of statistics,it's either find a statistical production, which is mentioned in passing the Weyr or available already mentioned Weyr CVs, which, however, outside statistics in particular, writes about his private life, his foreign travels and his work as a university teacher. When writing a thesis I concluded that though Weyr primarily known as a great lawyer and a university official, its influence is enormous and the statistics of its activities throughout the State Statistical Office has brought many significant achievements, which can not be forgotten. While the focus of its activities outside the statistics, I would like to say that the statistics are and should be with her still associated.

The aim of my work after collecting and studying the available literature is to describe and analyze the development of statistics in the Czech lands from primordial investigation over the reign of Maria Theresa to the emergence and operation of statistical provincial offices in Bohemia, Moravia and Silesia, and to mention the activities of these offices, their publication, and especially their significance. My thesis is also dedicated to the most important personalities of that age who deserved the actual operation of those departments In my work I also try to emphasize the most important and the most essential features of this period from the demographic point of view.

History and future of population census

This work deals with history, present and future of population census. There are the standpoits defined in the first chapter which the description of process of historic census is connected to. There are processes of census from ancient era to the last census in 2001 described in this work. From the beginning of Czech- Slovak Republic every census is described in more details. There are results about amount of populaced and achieved education mentioned in my assignment too. The part of the work is focused on detection of people's opinions on the last censuses and on the planned changes for census in 2011. Processed results are mentioned with absolute and relative numbers. The last chapter deals with upcoming census for year 2011.

F. A. Stelzig a počátky politické aritmetiky u nás

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá vývojem politické aritmetiky, a to už od jejích prvopočátků ve světě. Primárně si však klade za cíl nastínit vývoj této statisticko-demografické discipliny v českých zemích, s důrazem na dílo pražského úředního lékaře F.A.Stelziga. Podklady pro tuto práci jsem čerpala částečně z novodobých prací zabývajících se touto tématikou a částečně z originálních statí politických aritmetiků 19. století (viz seznam pramenů a literatury).

Immigrants in Czech Republic

Práce se zabývá zhodnocením dosavadní situace migrace v České republice a nastíněním budoucího vývoje. Na úvodní kapitolu týkající se definování pojmů a aspektů migrace navazuje historický vývoj této problematiky v českých zemích od roku 1945 a pohled na migraci z hlediska genderu. Čtvrtá kapitola popisuje legislativní vymezení a současnou situaci cizinců a podrobněji analyzuje problematické oblasti integrace cizinců do majoritní společnosti a upozorňuje na nedostatky v této oblasti. Poslední kapitola zachycuje demografickou situaci České republiky a grafickou analýzu pěti nejčastějších národností cizinců v České republice, která společně s posouzením vývoje časových řad slouží k úsudkům o chování migrantů do budoucnosti. Zároveň se snažím vyvracet negativní mýty týkající se cizinců, uvádět je na pravou míru a zdůraznit důležitost a přínosnost imigrace pro naši zemi.
