Formation of runoff from snow cover in the Otava River headstream area
Pospíšil, Jan ; Jeníček, Michal (referee) ; Kocum, Jan (advisor)
Diploma thesis solves the snow hydrology issue applied to model catchments of Rokytka and Ptačí Brook situated in central part of Šumava mountains, concretely in the upper Otava River basin representing the source area of extreme runoff episodes formation. Results of snow cover field surveyfrom 2007/2008 and 2008/2009 winter periods are presented. Their main goal was to describe the spatial variability of snow cover characteristics and its spatial distribution by means of GIS software and to enable an estimation precising of water reserves retained in snow. Outcomes are confronted with the snow melting analysis, with hourly and daily air temperatures and with detailed analysis of snow cover vertical profile that is important for consecutive runoff modelling during spring period using Degree-Day method. Hydrological regime of the Labský důl Valley
Ducháček, Libor ; Jeníček, Michal (referee) ; Šobr, Miroslav (advisor)
The glacier valley of Labský důl is one of the most significant relicts of the Pleistocene mountain glaciations in the Czech Republic. Majority of research in this area has been focused on geomorphologic patterns and hydrological characteristic was touched just marginally. This work contains basic hydrographic and hydrologic characteristics based on the understanding of the local environment. Detailed research was implemented on the part of the watershed closed by the water level gauge installed by PřF UK. There is described the watershed reaction during different rainfall episodes and it is evaluated according to hydrological balance equation. It was used several interpolation methods to reach the influence of the particular parts of the equation. The most important content of this file lays in hydrological regime and first of all in amount of data and information, which could be used to create rainfall-runoff model of the Labe River. Modeling the impact of small water reservoirs on flood events
Taufmannová, Alice ; Jeníček, Michal (advisor) ; Daňhelka, Jan (referee)
This paper deals with evaluating the impact of small reservoirs on flood events. The system of small reservoirs represents an effective part of integrated flood protection in the Czech Republic. Its realisation does not require a drastic impact on the environment. The small reservoirs could influence significantly the decrease of flood flows in the mountain catchments. Four small potential uncontrolled reservoirs were implemented to the headwater part of the Rolava river basin (126 km2) in the Ore Mountains. The relief of the Rolava river basin is heterogeneous with the upper headwater part characterised as flat plain and the middle part of the river flowing through a steep valley. The only option of the river to be flooded out during the extreme floods could appear in the lower part of the river basin. The Rainfall-runoff modeling was carried out in the model HEC-HMS (Hydrologic Engineering Center - Hydrologic Modeling System). The advantages of the model are its freeware availability, good arrangement and connection with GIS. The basin model of Rolava was calibrated using the known flood event in September 2007. The verification of the basin model ran on flood event in August 2006. The value of the efficiency criterion between the simulated and measured hydrograph was 0,86 and 0,89, which means successful...
Modelling the course of extreme floods in the context of landscape changes and integrated flood protection
Jeníček, Michal ; Langhammer, Jakub (advisor) ; Zezulák, Jiří (referee) ; Szolgay, Ján (referee)
Introduction Floods mean a considerable hazard for mankind. Effective protection against their impact represents one of the basic hydrology and water management tasks. The conception of flood protection came tfuough development reflecting the progress in natural processes description, flood experiences and also improvement in technology possibilities enabling better computation of flood measures effectiveness. Cunently centralized flood protection concept is replaced with íntegrated flood protection concept (Langhammer et al., 2008b; Dumbrovský et al., 2006)' which gives the complex flood protection solution for the whole basin by means of smaller, close{o-natural measures, such as small retention reservoirs. land use change, suitable agrotechnical principles etc. The thesis can be divided into three main parts that form three main pillars ofintegrated flood protection. These pillars are represented by three case studies. First study was made in Blanice River basin. It computes flood extreme changes in condition of changing landscape. Results could lead to positive land cover change which could cause the flood peak decrease. Second study was made in Chomutovka River catchment (Ore Mts.). It quantifies dry retention reservoirs impact on the course of floods by different precipitation extremities. Third study...
Microsoft licenses in commercial segment
Jeníček, Michal ; Říhová, Zora (advisor) ; Jiránková, Darina (referee)
Correct and financially optimal covering of licensed software is one of the aims of all companies. Microsoft Corporation offers a wide range of software products and also various types of license financing that significantly affect their financing. License models stating the correct rules of using the licenses for software groups are also very specific and require a thorough understanding of its principles. These two areas include a range of partial aspects that are to be considered from the point of view of company benefit. However, a complex view combining license programs and license models is equally important. Hence the issue of license management is problematic not only for the management of the company, but also for the IT specialists. This thesis embeds the issue of licensing into the frame of strategic IT planning and by means of annotated principles, descriptions of everyday situations and accentuating details significantly affecting licensing provides a perspective of the issue that has not been dealt with in such an elaborate way so far. The aim of this thesis is to provide a complex analysis of license programs and models, their principles and possibilities. In many companies, a detailed knowledge and understanding of the issue of Microsoft licensing is very important. Therefore, this thesis provides some specific output instances in the form of both financial and functional comparison of individual licensing programs. The crucial services of license programs and characteristics of license models are investigated in detail and subject to critical evaluation for purposes of utilization in companies of various sizes and types.
Redukce a selekce informací v mediálním kontextu
