Parallel Application Development with Intel Threading Tools
Vadkerti, Ladislav ; Jaroš, Jiří (referee) ; Dvořák, Václav (advisor)
Today's trend in microprocessor design is increasing the number of execution cores within one single chip. Increasing the processor's clock speed reached its limit with growing power consumption. This trend brings new opportunities to software developers, as they can take advantage of real multithreading in their applications. But a lot of new problems to solve appear with threading compared to sequential programming. With proper design, threading can enhance performance by making better use of hardware resources. However, the improper use of threading can lead to performance degradation, unpredictible behavior, or error conditions that are difficult to solve. For this reason Intel developed a suite of tools, that can help software developers to analyze performance and detect coding errors in thread interactions. This thesis focuses on the examination of ways that this tools can be used in multithreaded application development.
Evolutionary Design of Collective Communications Accelerated by GPUs
Tyrala, Radek ; Dvořák, Václav (referee) ; Jaroš, Jiří (advisor)
This thesis provides an analysis of the application for evolutionary scheduling of collective communications. It proposes possible ways to accelerate the application using general purpose computing on graphics processing units (GPU). This work offers a theoretical overview of systems on a chip, collective communications scheduling and more detailed description of evolutionary algorithms. Further, the work provides a description of the GPU architecture and its memory hierarchy using the OpenCL memory model. Based on the profiling, the work defines a concept for parallel execution of the fitness function. Furthermore, an estimation of the possible level of acceleration is presented. The process of implementation is described with a closer insight into the optimization process. Another important point consists in comparison of the original CPU-based solution and the massively parallel GPU version. As the final point, the thesis proposes distribution of the computation among different devices supported by OpenCL standard. In the conclusion are discussed further advantages, constraints and possibilities of acceleration using distribution on heterogenous computing systems.
Fast Reconstruction of Photoacoustic Images
Kukliš, Filip ; Dvořák, Václav (referee) ; Jaroš, Jiří (advisor)
The ability of reconstruction of photoacoustic images is important requirement to study soft tissues or vascular and lymphatic systems in high resulution but in small space. Today solution needs extensive computing power and it is noticeably time-consuming. In this study we would like to introduce a new solution which would be a way much faster and easy to use. My solution is up to 20x faster and needs forty percent less memory. This solution may be a better alternative for scietnist who study soft tissues by photoacoustic imaging.
Heating buildings. building resources on different types of fuel in assessing economic benefits
Dvořák, Václav ; Ing. Vrána (referee) ; Vališ, Ivan (advisor)
This work deals with the topic „Heating buildings building resources on different types of fuel in assessing economic benefits“. On this theme is elaborated theoretical part, then the topic is applied to the specified building. The project is design central heating, water heating, water heater design power unit. The project is designed in two versions. In the first variant are the heat source gas boilers. In the second variant are the heat source heat pumps.
Use of Statistical Methods for Assessment of the Financial Company Performance
Dvořák, Václav ; Štěpánková, Vladěna (referee) ; Doubravský, Karel (advisor)
This thesis deals with the use of statistical methods in practice. From the field of statistics is the work of regression analysis and time series analysis, which brought to a critical assessment of the financial situation of the company HELIX Liberec, s.r.o. The work is divided into theoretical and practical parts. The theoretical part focuses on explanations of important terms of statistical and financial analyzes that are subsequently applied in the practical part. Finally, the practical part are assessed and proposals to improve the economic situation.

Impacts of the Amendment of VAT in the Czech Republic
Milnerová, Radka ; Kozlová, Taťána (advisor) ; Dvořák, Václav (referee)
The result of this work will be the description of the historical development and the inclusion of VAT in the VAT system of taxation in Czech Republic. The thesis also explains VAT accounting and the most important concepts that relate to VAT itself. The work describes the VAT law and its consistency with other legislation. The practical part of the thesis will focus on the amendment of VAT, which came into force in 2011. The main goal is to describe the reverse-charge system and its changes between 2011 and 2012. The main objective of this work is to determine whether these changes affect the companies and how.
Communication and price strategy of a chosen company on its entrance to the Polish market enviroment with food supplements
Pivná, Kristýna ; Zamykalová, Miroslava (advisor) ; Dvořák, Václav (referee)
This thesis concentrates especially on 2 instruments of marketing such as communication and price strategy of an elected company. At the beginning there is presented the company, the area of the business and it also looks briefly at Poland using macroeconomic indicators. The main part of the work starts with a description of communication instruments and the way of making media plan. After comes an analysis and evaluation of the efectivity of the corporation strategy by phone calls and the number of sold products. The part devoted to the price strategy consists of theoretical characteristics of price creation possibilities followed by a practical inquiry of competitors that helps to define a reasonable price. The thesis is ended with a SWOT analysis of company's potential.
