Assessment of contamination in selected locations of Valašské Meziříčí
Dunajská, Sabina ; Pavlovský, Jiří (referee) ; Doležalová Weissmannová, Helena (advisor)
This thesis deals with soil contamination caused by heavy metals in the region of Valašské Meziříčí. The metals analysed were cadmium, chromium, copper, iron, mercury, manganese, nickel, lead, zinc. Metals were determined in 34 samples. The analyses were performed using AMA-254 and AAS methods. Contamination indices were used to assess the contaminated sites and health risks were also assessed.
Study of the content of risk elements in power plant ash
Vlčková, Renáta ; Doležalová Weissmannová, Helena (referee) ; Komendová, Renata (advisor)
This thesis deals with the study of the content of the risk elements Hg, Cr, Pb and Cd in samples provided by the Thermal Power Plant. Samples of lignite, biomass, fly ash and bottom ash were collected monthly over a period of one year. In addition to this set of samples, river water and fly ash pond water were sampled monthly. A total of 72 samples were analysed by atomic absorption spectrometry (AMA 254 and ETAAS). The concentrations of the elements of concern in the lignite and biomass samples decrease in the order Cr > Pb > Hg > Cd and in the fly ash and bottom ash samples decrease in the order Cr > Pb > Cd > Hg. Overall, it was assessed that the concentrations of the risk elements after co-firing of lignite and biomass were mainly transferred to fly ash and less to bottom ash. It was found that the combustion of higher amounts of biomass decreased the Hg, Cr and Pb contents in both fly ash and bottom ash. The water samples according to the determined parameters were classified as unpolluted water.
Study of the interaction of hazardous metal – microplastic
Sinčáková, Lenka ; Řezáčová, Veronika (referee) ; Doležalová Weissmannová, Helena (advisor)
Mikroplasty, široko zastúpené vo vodnom prostredí, slúžia ako vektor širokej škály kontaminantov, vrátane ťažkých kovov. Táto práca sa zaoberá adsorpciou piatich ťažkých kovov (Pb, Hg, Zn, Cu and Cd) na polyetylén tereftalát (PET), rozšírený polutant riek a morí. Pokiaľ ide o vplyv veľkosti mikroplastov na proces adsorpcie, nebol zistený jasný trend. Salinita prostredia má značný vplyv na adsorpčný proces s pozorovateľným poklesom adsorbovaných množstiev v prostredí s vysokou iónovou silou. Analyzované ťažké kovy boli zoradené vzostupne podľa ich schopnosti adsorpcie na PET nasledovne: Hg
Evaluation of ecotoxicity of selected chemicals with using algal test.
Kosárová, Hedvika ; Pavlovský, Jiří (referee) ; Doležalová Weissmannová, Helena (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the ecotoxicity of 2 - [(2,6-dichlorophenyl)aniline] benzene acetic acid (diclofenac), ?-methyl-4-(2-methylpropyl) benzene acetic acid (ibuprofen) and mixture of cadmium and diclofenac and studies the above using algal toxicity test in accordance with ISO 8692. The theoretical part describes the issue of pharmaceuticals in the environment, and characteristics of standards algae tests and alternative tests. Freshwater green algae Desmodesmus subspicatus were used as testing organisms in all the implemented algal toxicity tests. By the means of these tests, the IrC50 values for the standard substance potassium dichromate, the drugs diclofenac and ibuprofen and cadmium were determined. The toxicity of cadmium in mixture with diclofenac was also evaluated.
The study of vertical mobility of heavy metals and their transfer to mushrooms
Jurnečka, Roman ; Doležalová Weissmannová, Helena (referee) ; Komendová, Renata (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the issue of contamination of forest soils and edible mushrooms with lead, cadmium, copper and zinc in the Jeseníky Mountains, specifically in the Domašov and Vápenná forests. Sampling took place at 12 localities, divided into spruce and beech stands. Atomic absorption spectrometry AAS ContrAA 800D was chosen to determine the content of selected heavy metals. Based on the measured values of the concentrations of the studied metals and other soil properties, dependences were created to determine the vertical mobility of selected metals in the soil profile. Vertical mobility depends on the physico-chemical properties of the soil (pH, C and S content). The dependence of the content of selected heavy metals in the soil on the pH value of the soil was found. In the case of lead, the sorption capacity of the soil organic component was confirmed. The risk and above-limit content of Pb, Cd and Cu was found on the yellow-boletus mushroom. Cadmium shows the highest bioavailability. Lead was evaluated as the element with the lowest mobility.
Ecotoxicological evaluation of chemicals using algal tests
Osinová, Petra ; Vávrová, Milada (referee) ; Doležalová Weissmannová, Helena (advisor)
This bachelor thesis covers use of algal test for evaluation of ecotoxicity of chemical agents. First part details algae and algal tests metodology. Second part investigates applicability of different algae species and algae test methods for ecotoxicological analysis of selected chemical substances
Analysis of alkyl-derivatives of mercury at biotic matrixes.
Tuhovčáková, Lenka ; Vávrová, Milada (referee) ; Doležalová Weissmannová, Helena (advisor)
At diploma thesis will be used for determination of alkyl - derivatives of mercury especially gass chromatography. At diploma thesis will be developed metod for it´s identification, quantification, standard operating procedure and validation of the method of determination of alkyl - derivatives of mercury in animal tissues. There will be evaluated level of contamination by the polutants.
The quality system and its possible application on the field of population
Kulíšek, Martin ; Doležalová Weissmannová, Helena (referee) ; Vávrová, Milada (advisor)
This diploma paper is focused on developing the quality manual ISO 9000 and 14000. It is created for a particular workplace protection of the population, but also in a way that it can be applied to any departing unit of the Fire and Rescue Service. Herein it is processed a management system built for the platoon of central fire station in accordance with standard ČSN EN ISO 9001.
FTIR and NIR applications for soil analysis
Mešková, Michala ; Kučerík, Jiří (referee) ; Doležalová Weissmannová, Helena (advisor)
This diploma thesis focuses on the use of infrared spectrometry methods for the analysis of soil samples. The aim of this work was to compare and analyze the soil using the ATR (Attenuated Total Reflectance) and DRIFTS (Diffuse Reflectance Infrared Fourier Transform Spectroscopy) methods and to evaluate the effectiveness of these methods for soil analysis. The results showed that the ATR method is not sufficiently effective and the DRIFT method was used for soil analysis, which proved to be more suitable for the analysis of soil samples.
