Title: Kinematic analysis of a putt stroke in healthy and disabled golfer Objectives: The aim of this study is to objectify the movements during a putt stroke using 3D kinematic analysis and monitoring the pressure of the lower limbs to the ground for a healthy and disabled golfer of comparable performance and identify differences in stability of technique and performance between players. Methods: On a sample of 1 healthy and 1 handicapped golfer with similar performance was determined process of a putt stroke using 3D kinematic analysis of the CODA Motion system and pressure plate BodiTrak. Specifically, the difference between the putt stroke of the players in selected parametres, stability of performance and access were evaluated. The obtained data were processed in Microsoft Excel. The Wilcox test for independent samples and Cohen's d was to determine statistical and factual significance. Results: We found the statistical and large factual significance of the difference in the performance of the putting stroke between the disabled and healthy players (p < 0,01, d > 0,8) for most parameters. The most fundamental difference was found in the pressure of the lower limbs, when the disabled golfer had a greater pressure on the back limb. High stability of execution was found in 80 % of parametres in...

Mrázová, Kristina ; Kočíb, Tomáš (advisor) ; Carboch, Jan (referee)
Title: Development of tennis rules with an emphasis on serving Objectives: The main goal of this paper is to assess the possible impact of removing the rule of the second service from professional tennis matches on their length. It also focuses on this change's feasible influence on the attractiveness for viewers. Methods: The result of this paper was obtained using indirect observation of video recordings from Australian Open 2021, Roland Garros 2021, and Wimbledon 2021. In addition, was used notation analysis of tennis matches from listed tournaments. For tracked variables were used the rally length after both the first and the second serve. Another variable was the time gap between the first and the second serve. Results: Acquired results of this work show that tennis matches would not be significantly shortened after the removal of the rule of the second serve in relation to other time aspects of tennis matches. This outcome serves as an argumentative foundation for expert discussion about the possible introduction of a change to the existing rules concerning the second serve in the game of tennis. Baumová, Tereza ; Kočíb, Tomáš (advisor) ; Carboch, Jan (referee)
Title: Analysis of the footwork on the tennis court of the elite players Objectives: Describe and analyze tennis footwork of the elite ATP players. Focus on footwork from ready position to hit the ball, footwork during the hit the ball, analyze tennis stance and footwork after hitting the ball during the return to the ready position. Methods: To collect the data, we used observation and videorecording of selected tennis matches. We recorded the obtained values in a prepared sheet. The data were subjected to final processing using mathematical and mathematical-statistical methods. Results: From the analysis of the videorecordings we found out, that players the most commonly use crossover and shuffle to hit the ball. These two movements are often used in combination. Players primarily hit the ball in a jump. The preferred tennis stance is open stance and after hit the ball players use side step or shuffle step to return to ready position. Keywords: tennis, types of movement, tennis stance
Identification of brain areas in anticipation during tennis
Gavendová, Karolína ; Kočíb, Tomáš (advisor) ; Carboch, Jan (referee)
Title: Identification of brain areas in anticipation during tennis Objectives: The main aim of diploma theses is identification of brain areas responsible for anticipation and making decision during watching tennis rallies at tennis players by functional magnetic resonance. Methods: The research group consists of 10-12 competitive tennis players aged 18-28. The research takes place at the hospital in Motol. Before the examination itself, the probands are instructed on the course and conditions of testing. Testing consists of examining the brain to see if the proband is healthy, testing anticipation with a video of tennis rallies followed by a resting state phase to evaluate regional interactions. The video consists of 6 blocks separated by a static image lasting 20 s. Each block contains 6 videos with tennis rallies. Each video lasts exactly 6 s, including 300 ms to stop the tennis rallies. The tennis rallies are stopped when the ball is over the tennis net or on the player's racket. The task of the proband is to monitor the tennis rallies and after stopping to determine whether the subsequent stroke will fly to the left or right side of the tennis court, or to the center. The target data are formed from functional magnetic resonance images, probands' responses to individual rallies, and response...

Return temporal anticipation on the basis of the ball trajectory estimation
Carboch, Jan ; Süss, Vladimír (advisor) ; Zháněl, Jiří (referee) ; Tomajko, Dušan (referee)
Return temporal anticipation on the basis of the ball trajectory estimation Abstract Ball-hitting in tennis involves spatio-temporal information about the ball's flight trajectory. We have focused on the temporal part of the information during returning a tennis serve that was simulated by a ball machine. The tested people had occlusion glasses placed on their head, which occluded their vision at the exact time, when the ball was being sent from the ball machine. The tested person did not know which part of the ball flight trajectory would be occluded, nor the ball speed. We examined the effect of part ball flight trajectory occlusion on the correct return timing of the ball. The analysis revealed that the greatest problems occurred while the second third of the ball flight trajectory had been occluded and reached most temporal errors at that time. Keywords: tennis, anticipation, ball flight trajectory, return stroke, occlusion glasses

Title: Analysis of squash rally pace in male and women matches Objectives: This paper aims to evaluate the game pace of squash from the perspective of various factors, such as: gender of players, difference between winners and losers, number of strikes within different height levels of front wall, average duration of a rally, and types of strikes. Methods: The main method used to achieve the objectives of this thesis is the notational analysis. This method is based on observing the available video recordings - there were 25 of these, obtained from different PSA tournaments in years 2017 - 2020. We were sampling data about the duration of a rally, number and type of strikes and a duration of each type. Subsequently, we deducted information about the pace of the game and used it to further analyze and interpret the pace in relation to possible variables.. Results: The objective of the paper has been completed, as we have answered all the research questions. The average pace of the serve is 1.345 seconds for men and 1.388 seconds for women, while the average duration of rally is 25.06 seconds for male players and 17.22 seconds for female players. The results suggest that the game pace, its relevant variables, game development and final results are different for male and female squash players....
