The use of composite graphite electrode for voltammetric determination of phenylglyoxylic acid
Šenholdová, Z. ; Navrátil, Tomáš ; Shanmugam, K. ; Barek, J. ; Žák, J.
A composite electrode prepared from graphite powder and epoxy resin was applied as a working electrode for the determination of phenylglyoxylic acid (one of the metabolites of styrene) in human urine. Cathodic differential pulse stripping voltammetry was used and optimum conditions have been found giving the limit of determination about 5 mg L-1. All results were compared with those obtained using hanging mercury drop electrode. For the confirmation of suggested mechanism of the electrochemical reaction the elimination voltammetry with linear scan was used.
Voltammetric determination of genotoxic compounds using solid amalgam electrodes
Barek, J. ; Čížek, K. ; Fischer, J. ; Navrátil, Tomáš ; Josypčuk, Bohdan
Possibilities of voltammetric determinations of genotoxic organic compounds for environmental purposes were studied. Traditional mercury electrode was replaced by solid amalgam electrodes. It is possible to conclude that the obtained results are comparable with those, obtained on other types of electrodes.
Voltammetric Determination of Cytostatic Using Silver Solid Amalgam Electrode
Barek, J. ; Fischer, J. ; Konečná, B. ; Kratzer, J. ; Hrušková, M. ; Navrátil, Tomáš ; Novotný, Ladislav ; Josypčuk, Bohdan ; Zima, J.
Modern polarographic and voltammetric methods at mercury meniscus-modified silver solid amalgam electrode (m-AgSAE) were proved to be suitable for the determination of a number of polarographically active cytostatic drugs. The voltammetric determination of 6-mercaptupurine (6-MP), 6-thioguanine (6-TG), Mitoxantrone (MX, CAS No.: 65271-80-9, CAS. Name: 1,4-Dihydroxy-5,8-bis[{2-[(2-hydroxyethyl)amino]ethyl}amino]-9,10-anthracenedione), and Doxorubicin (DR, CAS No.: 23214-92-8, CAS Name: (8S-cis)-10-[(3-Amino-2,3,6-trideoxy--L-lyxohexapyranosyl)oxy] - 7, 8, 9, 10 - tetrahydro-6, 8, 11-trihydroxy-8-(hydroxyacetyl)-1-methoxy-5,12-naphtacenedione) were studied.
Solid Amalgam Electrodes in Environmental Analysis
Fischer, J. ; Barek, J. ; Navrátil, Tomáš ; Novotný, Ladislav ; Josypčuk, Bohdan ; Zima, J.
Nitrated polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons NPAH are well-known environmental carcinogens and are often used as model substances in various toxicological studies. The modern electroanalytical methods (differential pulse voltammetry (DPV) and adsorptive stripping voltammetry (AdSV)) using a mercury meniscus-modified silver solid amalgam electrode (m-AgSAE) are sensitive enough for the NPAH determination.
Composite Electrodes in Environmental Analytical Chemistry
Barek, J. ; Navrátil, Tomáš ; Šebková, Světlana ; Kopanica, M.
Composite electrodes offer potential advantanges compared with metallic or glassy carbon electrodes. It is possible to find their field of application in the theoretical research of processes on the electrode surface, but also in the analytical chemistry (determination of metal ions, halide ions, organic compounds, etc.).
The Use of Amalgam Electrodes in Electrochemical Analysis of Azidothimidine in Remedy Form
Pecková, K. ; Moreira, J. C. ; Josypčuk, Bohdan ; Navrátil, Tomáš ; Zima, J. ; Barek, J.
Azidothymidine (3´-azido-3´-deoxythimidine, AZT, Zidovudin) is a nucleoside analog, derived from thimidine. This compound prohibids the replicatrion of HIV virus. The article deals with its voltammetric determination using mercury and silver solid amalgam electrode. The results are compared with those obtained using HPLC.
Voltammetric Determination Phenylglyoxylic Acid in Urine Using Graphite Composite Electrode
Navrátil, Tomáš ; Šenholdová, Z. ; Shanmugam, K. ; Barek, J. ; Surovcová, H.
Phenylglyoxylic acid is metabolized in human body from vinylbenzene (styrene) (from which polystyrene is produced). Presented work deals with determination of this metabolite in human urine using carbon composite electrode. In the article are compared the results of analysis of the certified material (urine), achieved on the mercury and on the carbon composite electrodes.
Ink Films from Carbon Powders on Conventional Solid Electrodes as Alternative Disposable Sensors
