Primary drug-related criminality in Central Bohemia

The most important goal of this Thesis is a descriptive analysis of primary drug-related crimes in the Central Region in the period 2009 - 2011, from the criminal law perspective. The main objective of this descriptive analysis is the so-called drug-related crimes, which are included in Title VII., special part of the Criminal Code (Act No. 40/2009/Sb., Criminal Code, as amended) as generally dangerous crimes in Act no. § 283 - § 288 of the Criminal Code. A subsequent objective is to provide an overview of the basic terminology and define the specifics of primary drug crimes. In the text is stated the frequency of drug crimes detected by the Czech Police in the Central Region during the examined period. The most common types of drug crimes detected in this territory in the period are also described in detail. The Thesis also deals with the description of the development of drug crimes in different districts of the Central Region, including the demographic assessment of the offenders by age, sex and nationality. Driving under the influence of alcohol in the general population

Je faktem, že alkohol je aktuálním a celosvětovým problémem. Statistiky nám ukazují, že asi čtvrtina úmrtí, se přisuzuje alkoholu za volantem. Proto se ve své výzkumné práci zabývám problematikou řízení motorového vozidla pod vlivem alkoholu u obecné populace. Zajímají mě důvody, které vedou řidiče k usednutí za volant a profil rizikového řidiče. V práci píši o účincích alkoholu na člověka a psychologických aspektech. Popisuji také možnosti prevence v dopravě a zároveň informuji o aktuálních statistikách nehodovosti v ČR pro rok 2011 a 2012.Cílem práce je zjistit všeobecnou rozšířenost řízení pod vlivem alkoholu mezi českými řidiči. Dále sestavit profil rizikového řidiče a důvody, které řidiče k řízení pod vlivem alkoholu vedou. Moje první hypotéza je, že muži řídí pod vlivem alkoholu častěji než ženy. Druhá hypotéza je, že mladší řidiči budou řídit častěji. A poslední hypotézou si chci ověřit, jestli řidiči s nižším vzděláním, budou řídit pod vlivem alkoholu častěji. Metodou výzkumu jsem zvolila dotazník o uzavřených a otevřených otázkách. Dotazník byl předán respondentům v písemné formě elektronickou cestou, ale i osobně. K dotazníku jsem přikládala průvodní dopis, který respondenty informoval o cíli výzkumu a anonymitě šetření. Výzkumného šetření se zúčastnilo celkem 114 respondentů. Z toho 70...

Drug Courts: A Comparison of Approaches to the Prosecuted Ones for Drug-Related Crimes in Belgium and Czech Republic

Background: Following the model of the drug treatment courts in USA, this institute is applied in some European countries as well, which is the direction the Czech justice could proceed. Due to the similarities in the system of care for drug users and demographic situations, this paper compares the approaches to prosecuted ones for drug law offenses in the Czech Republic to Belgium, where drug treatment courts already exist. Aims: The aim of this work is to compare approaches to the prosecuted ones for drug law offenses in the Czech Republic and Belgium, and to propose appropriate solutions or research in this area for the Czech Republic. Methods: The method of analysis is used while studying literature and documents. A method of comparison compares the drug scene, system of an addictological care and drug- related crimes in both countries. Furthermore compares approaches to the prosecuted ones for drug offenses in the Czech Republic and Belgium, especially alternatives and their use in practice. Results: In Belgium, there are significantly more used alternatives in the earlier stages of the criminal proceedings than the courts. Issue of parental responsibility for illicit drug users and examples from practise

The issue of parental responsibility of illegal drugs users is quite controversial, since it applies to minors, whose interests it is always necessary to take into consideration. The aim of this thesis is: the description of problems in the field of a family law, the work of respondents with parents who are using drugs, how this problem looks according their practical experience and how they continue to work over this. Source of data was semi-structured interviews and text documents of client files. The following methods were used: first rank reduction, text coloring, clustering. Research group consisted from addictology experts and experts of social services. Altogether seven respondents. All participants agreed to collaborate. It was found out that majority of clients coming with their problems about child care on their own initiative but this happens not so often. In work with these clients appear specifics - it is necessary to take into account interests of the child who often demands the individual decision. Moreover it became clear that the majority of motivation is "passive", which means that a main objective of treatment / contact with this organizations is the family law affairs. The majority of respondents confirm continuous improvement of cooperation between the each other.

Promoting the Tobacco Control Law No. 379/2005 in the City of Vsetín: a Pilot Project Based on the Cooperation of an NGO and the Local Department of the Czech Police Force

This paper outlines the development of a pilot project that involved cooperation between a civic association and the local police department in the area of promoting the tobacco control law no. 379/2005 in the city of Vsetín. In the theory chapter I describe the effects smoking of tobacco has on the human body with a particular attention to the effects on children. The next section is about the field project "Children Don't Smoke", which the NGO carried out in the city of Vsetín, and its specific stages. The following chapter details each stage: the planning meetings of the members of the NGO and the police force, the information campaign and the evaluation process. Crimes committed under the influence of alcohol

The bachelor thesis is elaborated on the theme "Criminal Activities while Intoxicated". The first (theoretical) part is subdivided into two sections the first of which is named "Alcohol, Alcohol Abuse and Effects" and the other is named "Alcohol and crime." The section "Alcohol, Alcohol Abuse and Effects" deals mainly with the problems of alcohol abuse and its effects on the human body. The alcohol concept is defined in its introduction and the section is also devoted to its basic characterization. Then the thesis focuses on the effects of alcohol on a man, whether in the psychological, aspect or in the physiological aspect. The problems of health complications due to excessive alcohol consumption (alcohol abuse) and due to becoming addicted to the consumption of alcoholic beverages are also treated separately. Then the thesis focuses on individual stages of alcohol intoxication and deals with various forms of intoxication. The second section of the theoretical part named "Alcohol and Crime" then studies the relation between crime and alcohol and their mutual interrelation and conditionality. Alcohol and violent crime - case study

The topic of this thesis is the effect of alcohol consumption on committing violent crime. The aim of this work is to describe the relationship between alcohol use and perpetration of violent crime using a description of selected violent crimes. The theoretical part deals firstly with the individual areas such as alcohol and violent crime. In the following paragraphs work connects these two concepts - thus dealing with alcohol as a criminogenic factor. Finally, the work is devoted to the theoretical models that describe link between alcohol and crime. The practical part contains a description and analysis of two selected violent crimes - murder and robbery, which resulted from a qualitative analysis of court files. Within it are described the circumstances in detail that led to the commission of a crime in connection with the use of alcohol. The work aims to address three main issues - whether the use of alcohol has a role in the criminal career of the offender; on what circumstances related to the commission of the offense is the expertise pointing, as to the issue of alcohol use and express that it is possible in these cases find the influence of alcohol applied to the offense.
