Selection of Airplane Data Bus for Distributed Fly-by-Wire System
Funderák, Marcel ; Daněček, Vít (referee) ; Číž, Radim (advisor)
This thesis is dealing with selection of proper airplane data bus for distributed Fly-by-Wire system. The parameters of such data bus are defined here and description of such data buses are given as well. The proper data bus which fulfils the given parameters is selected. Next the safety and time-delay analysis are provided.
Distance and area measurement techniques based on GPS
Konecký, Jakub ; Číž, Radim (referee) ; Lattenberg, Ivo (advisor)
The aim of my dissertation work was to create an application for pocket PC with operating system Windows Mobile and touch screen, an application that would enable to position the current location of the pocket PC based on the GPS data, on distance measurement between two and more points of which the location is obtained from GPS, and on measurement of territory surface defined by certain number of points obtained from the GPS. The application also enables to display the characteristics of the received GPS signal, information about the number of visible satellites and also information about maximum deviation from positioning. In order to increase the accuracy of the positioning, an averaging function has been implemented. As additional function, a possibility of route location has been created. It measures the passed distance and records some other route characteristics. The application has been successfully tested on pocket PC E-ten M600+ and GPS receiver Navilock but it has been designed with general-purpose and should be compatible with all devices working with operating system Windows Mobile and touch screen. The text section of my dissertation work describes the positioning principle on the basis of satellites with known position, deals with the accuracy of these systems and describes few possibilities how to increase their accuracy. It also discusses the NMEA 0183 Protocol that is used by the majority of GPS modules for communication. The text section also describes several mathematic and cartographic calculations needed for realization of the application. In the end of the text section there is a detailed description of the created application.
Control of Music Equipment with Non-Electric Sensors Using MIDI Protocol
Vlach, Miloš ; Číž, Radim (referee) ; Schimmel, Jiří (advisor)
The goal of this Master’s thesis is to create a device that is able to control MIDI musical electronics, via use of non-electrical sensors as un-usual control elements and module Arduino Diecimila used as the processing element. This thesis is dealing with this given problem from a complex point of view, from design to actual realisation of the device. In the process of the thesis the solution for an optical proximity sensor and for resistance weight sensor is delivered. For both of them the adjustments circuitry is designed including interfaces, and further on it is constructed on PCB board. Then, control software, which processes the input sensor signal into a stream of MIDI data, which is sent to the computer as a slave device, is developed. The runtime of the program and the behaviour of MIDI elements can be controlled with a sub-protocol based on MIDI SysEx messages.
Communication Systems with Digital Modulations
Spáčil, Jan ; Kubánek, David (referee) ; Číž, Radim (advisor)
The purpose of this semestral project is to explain the basic issues of simple digital modulations through the creation of simple digital modulations using direct digital synthesis. It begins with a short review of digital modulation theory and the theory about direct digital synthesis. All the technical documentation is attached, including schematics and boards of functional modulator.
QAM Modulator
Duffek, Luděk ; Kubánek, David (referee) ; Číž, Radim (advisor)
The thesis focuses on consideration of possible ways how to realize multi-state modulators for a laboratory instrument. This instrument will illustrate signals, which partake on generation QAM modulation. The design of the laboratory instrument includes theoretic schemata and the execution of a prototype. There are theoretical facts of multi-state signals and multi-state modulations in this thesis. A simple block diagram of the laboratory instrument is made by the theory of creating quadrature amplitude modulation. For each block there are made several schemata, which are compiled to the global scheme. A printed circuit board and the structure items are made by the aid of the global scheme. The next part is devoted to a software facility for a used microprocessor, which ensures the whole function of the laboratory instrument. The final section deals with measuring, which checks the function of the modulator and the right setting coder’s constellation diagrams.
Sound Module for Evaluation Kit
Priškin, Jiří ; Číž, Radim (referee) ; Sysel, Petr (advisor)
This thesis is dealing with design and putting into operation of sound module for evaluation kit Atmel ATSTK1000. At the beginning, there is an introduction with properties, hardware and software equipment of the evaluation kit which is used for development of embedded devices based on AT32AP7000. The microcontroller AP7000 is a complete system on chip with an AVR32 microprocessor core, containing additional supporting circuits, controllers and interfaces which the core itself does not have included. However, there is no digital to analog converter for audio signal processing. This has led to design an additional module performing this task. A part of thesis describes Intel AC‘97 standard including AC-link interface, which is used for full-duplex data transmission between realized sound module and the evaluation kit STK1000. The sound module is designed as a plug-in card. The last chapter presents the Linux operating system installation process as an SD/MMC Flash memory card boot image creation and test of the sound module under ALSA architecture.
Subscriber Line Interface Circuit Control
Havran, Josef ; Číž, Radim (referee) ; Sysel, Petr (advisor)
The aim of this thesis is to design a connection of the development kit for the subscriber line interface circuit Si3220 with the development kit for the digital signal processor DSP56858EVM and implement a test application, which will allow us to use the development kit as a small private branch exchange. The application allows us to operate up to ten telephone machines and it disposes of basic telephone exchange functions -- generating tones to the headphone, detecting the DTMF dialing, generating the ringing and the voice connection of the subscribers.
Algorithms for decoding the Reed-Solomon error control code
Tieftrunk, Tomáš ; Číž, Radim (referee) ; Šilhavý, Pavel (advisor)
Thesis discuss about effort to ensure from error, which may occur during transmission over noisy channel. There's used Reed Solomon code. It's block, cyclic and systematic code, which is symbol orientated. Computational process of decoding is mathematically time-consuming. In thesis is closely described Berlekamp-Masey algorithm, used in decoding to evaluate error polynomial. Process is illustrated in application in Matlab. Practical realization uses Reed Solomon code in communication over RS232. Communication is established between computer and microcomputer.
