As a part of its April survey, CVVM asked a battery of questions concerning the usefulness or harmfulness of the European integration in the areas of industry, politics, culture, defence and ecology. New battery of questions regarding the usefulness or harmfulness of the unification of regulations in different areas has also been included into the survey. On the whole, Czechs consider the European integration and the unification of regulations to be useful, but there are considerable differences with respect to the particular areas of integration and unification.
The posibilities of new use of the industrial heritage in the region of Kladno

The work is focused on the industrial heritage of the region of Kladno. It describes the history of Kladno and the creation and development of industry in the region. One part of the work is devoted to several selected industrial objects, their history and current use. The main part focuses on the industrial area called Kladno-east, it analyzes the property rights that prevail in the area and also the environmental burdens and possibilities of their removal. The last chapter is about the possibilities of new use of the industrial area Kladno-east, looking for an inspiration in objects of the industrial architecture that have been already revitalized in our country and also abroad.
Financial analysis of wine-making cooperative Templar Wine Cellars of Čejkovice

Objective of this thesis is to evaluate financial health of wine-making cooparative Templar Wine Cellars of Čejkovice over the years 2006 -- 2011 at least 5 consecutive years. Theoretical part describes the purpose of financial analysis along with methods that I apply in practical part (absolute indicators, balance sheet rules, net working capital, Du Pont analysis, value and bankruptcy models, economic value added). In practical part, apart from the applications of the described metods is wine-making cooparative Templar Wine Cellars of Čejkovice also compared with the industry.
The development of the economyof Kazakhstan after gaining independence

The aim of this study is to describe and analyze the development of the economy of Kazakhstan after the fall of the Soviet Union up to the present day. This thesis focuses on the specification of the Kazakh economy and industry from the beginning of the 1990s and on its importance at a regional and global level. First part describes obstacles and problems which Kazakhstan had to face after gaining independence. Then second part analyzes the progress of the main macroeconomic indicators. The next part of the work deals with the international trade relations with the key partners and the Czech Republic. The last part investigates the plans for the development of the economy in the near future. In the end there are made the conclusions of reforms made in the past 20 years and the present situation in the economy is described.
Socioeconomic analysis of Písek

The work is aimed for creating characteristics of town Písek through socio-economic analysis and the presentation and evaluation of strategic urban development plans, which are based on a SWOT analysis already created by the town itself. The demographic indicators, indicators of economic development, labor market and unemployment are step by step analyzed in individual chapters and compared to the same indicators of the South Bohemia and Czech Republic. The analysis also includes transport, technical and social infrastructure, culture, sport, tourism, crime and quality of environment. Finally is analyzed the management of town budget and is presented a current municipal government of the town. Most of the findings are the basis of the SWOT analysis, which corresponds with those of strategic development plans in certain areas.

After twenty five years of experience in the research, education and industrial cooperation at the Czech Technical University in Prague, the author of this contribution left into the industry. Working in the field of research and technology development of the multinational high-tech company, he has received a complementary picture on the organization, methodology and control strategies governing the Knowledge, Research and Education (KRE) in the industry. With the personal experience from these two worlds, he will talk about contemporary approaches to the KRE at both the University and Industry. He will present state-of-the-art practices from Knowledge Management Control, planning, reviewing and efficiency metrics of Research, the application of Learning Management Systems, etc. Their brief discussion aims to answer the question: What can today's University learn from modern Industry and vice versa in favor of a future growth?

Experience of R&D cooperation between the academic and industrial sectors

The fast process of globalisation and, as a result, the increasing pressures of worldwide competition require intensification of cooperation between the academic and industrial sectors at both national and multinational levels. The presentation outlines selected topics and identifies areas that should develop such cooperation and make it more effective as the next step. Primarily, these include: Selected factors limiting cooperation on the academic side, Deficiencies in the methods of approaching joint projects, Different ideas of time constants in joint projects, Clearly set key responsibilities of the respective worksites, Possible factors of reinforcing the cooperation. Furthermore, the presentation outlines ŠKODA Auto Development Department experience of cooperation with the academic sector in joint projects, specifically: R&D projects funded from non-public resources (ŠA's direct contracts, contracts of VW Research), R&D projects funded from public resources (EU, Czech Republic), Training & education projects funded from public resources (esf).

The model of village between capital and river. Socio-cultural profile of Týnec nad Sázavou 1918-1938.

The presented thesis deals with the progress of life in the small village of Týnec nad Sázavou in connection with the formation and development of tourist interest in the region of Lower Posázaví. The progress, which was the outcome of local tourism, was reflected in the lifestyle changes made by the rural population. The important elements included new building projects and developmental opportunities in the region of Lower Posázaví, which included the construction of railways, repairing and building of road, electrification, installation of water supply and reconstruction of the state hotel in Týnec nad Sázavou. Included among the summer visitors were important and significant personalities of that period: successful entrepreneurs, scientists, politicians, writers, doctors and artists. One of the main personalities was Frantisek Janecek, who chose this township not only to spend his summer leisure time, but also for his business aims. His intentions had a great positive impact on the life of the population of Týnec nad Sázavou and its surroundings. The reflection of prosperity seen during the period of the first republic in this region remains evident till today.
The Industrial Sector in China - Current State, Issues and Perspectives

The thesis focuses on the industrial sector of the chinese economy that is important for its performance not only for the domestic but also for the international market. The first chapter is dedicated to liberalization processess and beginnings of industrialization after 1978. The following chapter, which starts with the accession of China to the WTO and ends with the year 2010, concentrates on five-year plans, statistics and recent trends that describe this period of time. The task of the last chapter is to present various expectations concerning the future development of industry in terms of contemporary and newly started changes to the chinese economy.
