The effect of linseed oil to pregnant and lactating ewes for rearing lambs
KLÁTIL, Jaroslav
The aim of this thesis was to evaluate the influence of the addition of linseed oil to pregnant and lactating ewes to rearing of lambs. For more conclusive results ewes were divided into groups that received linseed oil (for testing) and the group without the constituents of linseed oil in the diet (control). Effect of linseed oil was demonstrated in ewes blood analysis. Analysis of blood parameters were monitored three - cholesterol, triglycerides and lipase. Physiological levels of cholesterol in sheep is 1,7 mmol.l-1. Before the test was observed in ewes cholesterol levels from 1,6 to 2,2 mmol.l-1 and after the test in the range from 1,3 to 1-9 mmol.l-1. Cholesterol after the test decreased in both the test and the control group. Natural levels of triglycerides in ewes is 0.8 mmol.l-1. In our case, the TAG content was below this threshold. Before the test from 0,18 to 0,22 mmol.l-1 after the test from 0.08 to 0.19 mmol.l-1. In test and control groups after the test content triglycerides decreased. After the test, reducing the content of the lipase in the test group and an increase of the content of the control group. Lambs of control and test group ewes were compared on the following criteria: average daily gain (higher increases should control group lambs), weight in control days, the chemical composition of meat - nitrogen, protein and fats. The normal composition of lamb meat: 21 % crude protein, 4,75 % fat and 1,1 % ash. In our case, the content of the NL test group 22,3 % and 21,8 % of the control group, the fat content of the test group and the control 6,5 % and 5,4 %, ash content in the test group and the control 1,23 % and 1,25 %. Further monitoring criteria: weight in carcass weight (between groups) and analysis of blood (cholesterol, triglycerides and lipase) - no difference between test and control lambs.
Rust problems on selected forage grass species
HOSPODÁŘSKÝ, Radek
The object of this diploma essay is to evaluate selected breeding material sensitivity to attack of crown rust and grass rust. Research was realized in cooperation with Breeding Station Větrov, located in altitude 630 meters above sea level, district of Tabor. Attack of the plants was rated according to scale used by UKZUZ1-9. During vegetation period attacked parts of the plants were collected for specific rust diagnosis. The results were evaluated using statistical data elaboration.
Use of performance testing results in warmblood horse breeding
VOKROUHLÍKOVÁ, Jana
Objective of the work was to analyze the results of performance testing and their usage in warmblood horses breeding. The active Czech warmblood stallions registered in The Czech warmblood breeders association on the list of stallions in 2012, were summarized into the overview. The results of mare performance tests (daughters of sires) and the results of offspring in jumping competitions were used for the analysis of the stallions. Stallions were divided according to available offspring data into three groups. The first group contains stallions who still can not have offspring in sport (young stallions), in the second group are stallions with no available record about the offsrping. The stallions in the third group have daughters passed the performance tests and offspring in sports, therefore we have analyzed this third group in detail. Stallions were ranked by the number of offspring and by the performance results of their offspring. Based on average results of the mare performance tests and the average number of points in jumping competitions were selected the top stallions, who also had to meet a criterion of the number of offspring (min. 10 mares on performance tests and min. 6 offspring in sport). Own performance and the performance of the progeny of these top ten stallions was compared with other equally or even more frequent stallions. Based on the results of mare performance tests and sports performance of the offspring were best assessed stallions: Comero, Phill, Le Patron, Radegast, Sargoni, Manillon Rouge, Amarillo, Dantes, Rock´n Roll and Calanthano. These all stallions met the criterion of the number of offspring. The breeder selection of the stallion doesn´t follow performance results and the number of offspring doesn´t copy the quality of the stallion, it means, that the selection of the stallion for each mare is based on other circumnstances. It means that the results of performance testing were not used in Czech warmblood breeding.
Indicators of the egg yield and of the fattening in the geese breeding
KULHAN, Petr
The aim of the thesis was to elaborate a literature search about utility characters of geese and to analyse a basic statistical indicators selected indicators of egg yield and of fattening performance in the selection breeding of geese, with a view to selection and to inbreed in the Czech Republic, to the conditions for certification of selection breeding, including the purpose and mission of this breeding. Geese breeding and its technology, domestic geese properties and factors, which affect them, are described further in this work. Attention was also paid to veterinary monitoring and to care of geese breeding.
THE INFLUENCE OF THE IMPORT OF FOREIGN STALLIONS ON THE QUALITY OF CZECH WARMBLOOD BREEDING
HAVLOVÁ, Lucie
The aim of this thesis was to prepare an overview of the use of foreign stallions and determine their influence in the Czech warmblood breeding. A representation of stallions of Czech warmblood breed and thein use in breeding was also observed. The results in show jumping were parameters for this evaluation. The data obtained from The summary of the sport horses - Ranking the best sires in ASH (S) by show jumping in the years 2000-2010 were the base material for the thesis. The results showed that the most important breeds in the breeding of Czech warmblood are Thoroughbred, Holsteiner horse, Hanoverian horse and Trakehner horse. Nowadays, the use of Holsteiner and Hanoverian horses increases. The Czech warmblood is becoming the breed used mainly for sports and that´s why the effort of breeders to enhance its sporting performance by the import of breeding material of sporting breeds is growing.
Diet optimalisation of selected species of lemurs
ŽAHOUROVÁ, Petra
Ring-tailed lemur Lemur catta, red ruffed lemur Varecia rubra and black and white ruffed lemur Varecia variegata belongs to the family Lemuridae, living at Madagaskar as endemits. In wildlife is folivorous and frugivorous food strategy at the both genus ? in the process g. Varecia is more frugivorous. Study was divided into two parts ? the first about ration of feeding chosen species of lemurs in several czech zoos and the second about ethology feeding behaviour lemurs in zoo Jihlava. For nutritional assessment were further chosen zoos Lešná, Jihlava, Ústí nad Labem, Ohrada and Chleby. From ration of feeding for chosen species of lemurs was counted average personal ration per day. This average was used to calculate nutritional values of dietary (fats, protein, carbohydrates, fiber, calcium, phosporus and iron) for each kind of menu or particularly day a week. For ethologic observation was made method of straight observation with used behaviour sampling ? scanning of a behaviour. Observation was done from July to December 2011 in whole extent 56 hours. Study solved out that ration of feeding are very different in each zoo like nutritional values of dietary and amount. In each zoo has larger ration of feeding Varecia rubra than Lemur catta. In average this diference beetwen that makes 144,25 g. Observation (zoo Jihlava) showed that Lemur catta spends foraging behaviour 19,75 minutes per day and handling 42,75 minutes per day in average. All in all they spending their feeding behavior only 62,5 minutes (1,04 hours) per day. Further more was discovered diference in length feeding behaviour when in their habitation more tree branches were. Adding branches to there increased length of feeding behaviour about of 22,67 minutes per day.
"Only, where there is no strong will, there is a lack, resources are everywhere."
VOVSOVÁ, Pavla
The thesis focuses on analysis of Robert Hildprandt's breeding program in Blatná estate in period of Czechoslovakia. The time range is influenced by the character of source-books that contains information from the years 1922-1930, eventually 1907-1935. The main sources include evidence resources, especially studbooks, milk yield tests, register of calves or breeding index and preserved correspondence of the estate. According to these sources is characterized the breeding of black-piabald lowland cattle, performance testing and results of breeding program. The evolution of the breeding herd in Blatná estate is compared with both general rules of breeding in Czechoslovak era and other development of different breeds and other regions. On the basis of studbooks, there is also elaborated historical-antropological analysis of names and describtions of individual animals.
