Oboe d ´Amore
Reiserová, Štěpánka ; MIHULE, Jiří (advisor) ; BROŽKOVÁ, Jana (referee)
The diploma thesis is focused on the musical instrument oboe d´amore. The main reason to deal with this theme is the great shortage of professional texts about oboe d´amore in the Czech language. The main sources we can find are written in English and in German. My aim was to summarize older and the present texts and to demonstrate, explain and clarify the concrete problems of this theme. The first chapter concentrates on historical development of the oboe and the classification of the whole instrument family. Other chapters consist of concrete information about oboe d´amore. In the second chapter there are explored many facts such as historical development of the instrument from baroque era to the present days, tuning and the most important instrument makers. It also refers to composers and their compositions for oboe d´amore. The third chapter deals with description of the instrument in general, furthermore the fourth chapter deals with characterization of differences between the modern oboe and the oboe d´amore and the special issue as a problematic of transposition. The last chapter is focused on the reeds making.
Selected Aspects of Czech Word Order - Three theoretical approaches
NOVÁKOVÁ, Veronika
Czech word order is considered rather flexible. Clitics are one case of restrictiv word order in Czech. The aim of this thesis is to come to know the concept of clitics in three approaches - classic czech approach, aproach of functional generative description and approach of generative grammar. Clitics are usually understood as one-syllable words, that can?t bear stress and for reasons of prosodic they form an accentual unit with the word that proceeds them or that follows them. If clitics form a unit with a proceeding word, they are referred to as enclitics, if they form a unit with following word, they?re referred to as proclitics. This thesis will deal mainly with pronominal enclitics. Enclitics have quite restrictive placement in the sentence structure. This thesis is divided in chapters. In the first chapter each theoretical approach is discussed. Then I discuss partial topic in works of three authors ? Václav Ertl, František Trávníček and Ludmila Uhlířová. In chapter 4 I define the topic of my research, which is manners of enclitics in complex sentences with infitives. In this chapter I also describe the way the three theoretical approaches discuss this topic. Last chapter is dedicated to the research. At first the methodology is established. Research was processed on the basis of data from the Czech National Corpus (CNC). The description of results comes after, by processing the data from CNC the lists of verbs were built, which verbs ehibit the similar manners of clitics.

The Phenomenon of a Jew in Polish and Czech Language and in Polish and Czech Jewish Anecdotes in the Context of Literature of the First Half 20th Century
BALÍK, Štěpán
To describe the phenomenon of a Jew in Czech and Polish language and Czech and Polish Jewish anecdotes in both national literatures I apply the tools of cognitive linguistics. I am depicting the stereotype of a Jew according to three crucial oppositions on which my theoretical framework is based. The world of ?us? is positive, characterized as a human, useful and catholic one. The world of ?them? is negative, depicted as animal, redundant and non-catholic one. Vocabulary (especially idiomatic expressions) and examples quoted from literary fiction (especially Jewish anecdotes), which are connected to the inner and outer picture of a Jew, show an ethnic stereotype in a Polish and Czech naive linguistic picture of the world. In a comparative view, the differences and parallels between Polish and Czech perspective are more evident. To stress my conclusions, I use demographic, cultural and historical data as well as examples in literature which are closely linked. However, I intend neither to describe the development of the vocabulary nor to summarize dictionary meanings; I am focusing on shifts in pictures of Jews (partly in comparison with picture of the Romany). Examples which are taken out of dictionaries, secondary literature and fiction are ? if possible ? verified by contemporary memory, e. g. the memory of present Czech and Polish people in this field. I will not use the term ?antisemitism?, which is often used in a secondary literature, instead, inspired by both cognitive linguistics and ethnology I use ?ethnocentrism?.
