Optimal Deployment of Multiple Hypotheses Generators for Detecting Traffic Lights in Camera Images

This thesis deals with a detection of traffic lights in camera images. The main goal is to find an optimal setting and combination of available detectors. Firstly, principles of used detectors are explained and results using their default parameters are discussed. Next part of the thesis describes a process of detectors testing and evaluation and introduces a new system for a more effective detector parameters optimization. An effect of main parameters on the system is examined and proper value ranges are suggested. A new topology of detectors is suggested and the final set of optimal operating points is found. In the last part, methods for hypotheses filtering and clustering are discussed and implemented. Functionality of the system before and after otimization is demonstrated and results are discussed.
