Political and Economic Reasons for Energy Cooperation between the EU and Russia

In this paper I investigate the energy cooperation between the EU and Russia from the political and economic points of view. The relevance of the issue is due to the growing role of energy sector, the need for security of energy supply and demand and for political and economic balance of power in the region, and closer economic integration. Two theoretical approaches, geopolitical and bureaucratic, guiding the research, explain the behavior of protagonists. To better understand the present level of cooperation I analyze the background and dynamics of EU - Russia energy trade relations. As a case study, I investigate the Nord Stream project as an example of successful cooperation of Germany as an EU member state and Russia in this field. I discuss challenges for the healthy mutual partnership in the energy sector, namely, high politicization of the issue, monopolization of Russian energy sector and low sustainability of Russian economic development, and mistrust between the protagonists. I attempt to identify possible policy changes aimed to improve this cooperation and achieve fruitful partnership, security and stability. Monopolizace obranných agentur: Je stát nevyhnutelný?

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá problematikou udržitelnosti a stability anarchie v dlouhém období. Zhodnoceny a s empirickými pozorováními anarchických společností jsou srovnány teorie Roberta Nozicka, Tylera Cowena a Randalla G. Holcomba ukazující nevyhnutelný vznik státu z přirozeného stavu. Představeny a zanalyzovány jsou i návrhy na možné vyhnutí se vzniku státu i přes případnou tendenci anarchie k monopolizaci v podobě vertikálně integrovaných proprietárních komunit, nápravného státu a ideologií. Výsledkem práce je zpochybnění teorií popisujících nevyhnutelný vznik státu i prvních dvou návrhů na vyřešení tohoto problému. V závěru práce je vyzdvihnuta role ideologie jako rozhodujícího faktoru v dosažení a udržení anarchie v dlouhém období.

Významné ekonomické aprávní aspekty ochrany hospodářské soutěže v EU a USA

Diplomová práce se zaměřuje na vzájemné vazby mezi ekonomií a právem v oblasti ochrany hospodářské soutěže, a to na příkladu USA a EU. V první části jsou připomenuty souvislosti, které vedly ke vzniku antimonopolních zákonů v USA, EU a jiných zemí, a hlavní ekonomické teorie v této oblasti. Následuje popis právního rámce ochrany hospodářské soutěže v USA a EU, a dále upozornění na odlišný institucionální rámec s odkazem na hlavní prameny práva včetně významných dokumentů nelegislativního charakteru. Předmětem druhé části je analýza nejvýznamnějších druhů protisoutěžních jednání pro obě oblasti antitrustu (tj. zakázaných dohod a jednání firem s tržní silou), se zvláštním důrazem na nejzávažnější soutěžní delikty (např. horizontální cenové dohody) a na relativně nové, dynamicky se vyvíjející oblasti soutěžního práva (např. odmítnutí přístupu v oblasti duševního vlastnictví). Pro vybrané druhy jednání jsou vždy nejprve uvedeny možné negativní dopady na hospodářskou soutěž a následně jsou uvedeny související významné americké a evropské precedenty. V posledních kapitolách jsou analyzovány aktuální dokumenty nelegislativního charakteru vydané FTC, DoJ a EK, dokumenty, z kterých lze vyvodit stávající obecný postup při rozhodování o fúzích.
