Application for monitoring of Linux servers
Kačmarčík, Martin ; Ricci, Sara (oponent) ; Komosný, Dan (vedoucí práce)
PlanetLab Server Manager is an application helping users to develop distributed network projects using the PlanetLab network. It gives an ability to search for a server by its geographical position and access these servers. It offers functionality to render servers on world map. This thesis covers details of the PlanetLab network and its infrastructure. It describes PlanetLab Server Manager (also known as plbmng) and identifies its problems in the current version. The thesis aims to address these problems and describes all the improvements made to the application. Finally, it analyzes the overall status of PlanetLab network using the newly developed tools for status monitoring. To help enable the network projects even further, this Master thesis aims to improve the current application by re-writing it fully into Python 3 language. As the current application is implemented in Bash reimplementation requires complete re-design and re-implementation of functions and will allow to fully utilize perks of Python 3 language. Thesis also aims to extend existing functionality by adding support for filtering servers by their operational status and other small improvements. Application source code is available on GitHUB under the MIT license and the application is available in the PyPI repository as well.
Safety inspections in Zilinsky region
Dendisová, Terézia ; Radimský, Michal (oponent) ; Matuszková, Radka (vedoucí práce)
The bachelor‘s thesis focuses on a road safety inspection of selected places in the Zilinsky Region. The first step of the bachelor‘s thesis was to select 10 critical sections, then each one was subjected to accident analysis. The places selected were compared by accident indicators, which were the basis for selection of 3 locations where the road safety inspection was performed The safety inspection included a visual inspection and risk identification. For all identified risks were proposed a possible solutions.
Application for Demonstration of Synchronization Mechanisms in Distributed Systems
Klimčíková, Lenka ; Veigend, Petr (oponent) ; Zbořil, František (vedoucí práce)
The aim of this thesis is to design and create a web application for the demonstration of selected synchronization mechanisms in distributed systems. The algorithms communicate by means of message-passing to ensure mutual exclusion of the processes in an effort to access the critical section. Implemented are Lamport's algorithm, Maekawa's algorithm, Raymond's algorithm and Suzuki-Kasami broadcasting algorithm. The application is implemented in Java programming language with the use of Spring Boot framework for listening on different endpoints. Thymeleaf template engine is used to exchange the necessary data between backend and frontend of the application. HTML + JavaScript language are used for dynamic rendering of sent messages to the screen. The algorithms are implemented in separate libraries, which are then used by the web application. The application illustratively demonstrates function of each algorithm with loads of different examples for the best possible understanding. It's primarily intended for students of Faculty of Information Technology, Brno University of Technology
