Bude mít přehled o formátu JPEG2000 a formátu WSQ.
Editor for WSQ Format of Fingerprint Images for Demonstration
Németh, Patrik ; Rydlo, Štěpán (oponent) ; Kanich, Ondřej (vedoucí práce)
The goal of this thesis is to design and implement an application suitable for demonstrating the individual steps of fingerprint analysis, and which is able to automatically process fingerprints stored in the most widely used formats for storing fingerprint imagery, such as WSQ, PNG and JPEG 2000. In this thesis special attention was given to automatic processing methods and analysis of fingerprint imagery. It also offers an overview of the WSQ format and of its comparison to JPEG 2000. The output of this work is a graphical application capable of demonstrating individual steps of widely used methods of fingerprint imagery processing and analysis. The application implements Gabor filtering, line thinning based on the Zhang-Suen method, and other methods of fingerprint processing. With some error, it is capable of detecting minutiae, singularities and the class of a fingerprint. Some of the processing parameters may be modified by the user via the graphical interface. Processed images can be exported in various image formats.
Comparison of the Effect of Fingerprint Image Compression Algorithms on the Quality of Matching Algorithms
Varga, Marek ; Kanich, Ondřej (oponent) ; Drahanský, Martin (vedoucí práce)
This thesis aims to assess the effect of various compression options and image processing techniques for different types of fingerprint images. Also, various fingerprint matching techniques will be tested to measure the similarity between the processed and the original fingerprint image. The work evaluated the performance of JPEG, PNG, and the WSQ compression, as well as the minutiae-based, cross-correlation, and the PSNR matchers. The fingerprint image processing techniques included image normalization, binarization, depth change, noise removal, and resizing. As a result, the PNG compression recorded the best average scores for all fingerprint types according to all tested matchers. Furthermore, the JPEG compression registered the best average compression times, while the WSQ compression produced the smallest compressed file sizes. Moreover, the fingerprint image processing techniques did not improve the matching scores, but only made them worse.
