Business plan for the construction of a house for the elderly

The aim of the thesis is to create a business plan for the construction of a house for the elderly. The thesis consists of two sections, wherein the first one is dealing with the basic terms such as entrepreneurship and structure of a business plan. The second part of the thesis presents the specific business plan. This section describes in detail the intention of the plan and includes a thorough analysis of the surrounding environment. Subsequent marketing analyses forms the basis for creating the right marketing tools to reach clients. The following financial part forms an important basis for the evaluation of the investment into the presented business plan. The following part of the thesis consists of methods for assessing the return of the investment. In the final part of the Master´s thesis are mentioned project risks and there are also included possible measures to mitigate the intensity of their impact.
Financial Analysis of a Home for the Elderly

This bachelor thesis focuses on data processing for retirements home financial plan. The aim of this thesis is to analyse costs at the average occupancy of 130 beds. In the next step the thesis focuses on planning for changes at reduction of occupancy to 100 beds. Both analysing contemporary costs and planed costs at the change of occupancy were done by costing. Second method that was use dis break-even point analysis. By using this method I found out, what price clients should pay to maintain the retirement home out of the red. Due to those methods it was necessary to classify costs into fix costs, variable costs, explicit costs and indirect costs.
Satisfaction of Seniors with Social Services in the Home for Elderly in Ždírec.

The theme of the bachelor thesis is to determine satisfaction of users in Home for the elderly Ždírec. The theoretical part consists of four basic areas. The first one is focused on the definition of old age, aging, physical, social and cognitive changes, which the higher age brings. Further there are described scientific disciplines that deal with old age, such as geriatrics. The next chapter explains the concepts senior, ageism, life satisfaction, and it briefly outlines the status of seniors in today's society. The third area concerns the social services that are provided to seniors, including their funding and Act no. 108/2006 Coll. about social services. The end of the theoretical part is devoted to the Home for the elderly Ždírec itself in which the research was conducted. In the empirical part there are evaluated the results of the research, whose main objective was to determine how the users of the Home for the elderly Ždírec are satisfied with the provided social services. There was performed the mapping of satisfaction of meals, accommodation, staff access and leisure time activities. To obtain the results there was used qualitative research strategy through a semi-structured interview. The results will serve mainly to the Home for the elderly Ždírec. Based on the research the home can improve the provided services and thereby increase the satisfaction of its users. The research showed that most home users are not satisfied with the provided food or they are satisfied only partially. All the questioned users are fully satisfied with the accommodation in terms of design and equipment of their rooms. However, the satisfaction rate dropped when asking about the privacy in the rooms, some seniors do not have enough of it. The vast majority of users is satisfied with the staff but there was prevailing dissatisfaction with the amount of time of the nurses. The offer of leisure activities is sufficient according to the testimony. The users would like to travel outside the home more frequently, they miss animals and they stated that the home is very expensive. Among the advantages of the home are unlimited visiting hours and the recent reconstruction of indoor and outdoor premises. A positive finding was that the absolute majority of users evaluate their current life as satisfied.
Providing care for terminal stage clients at senior home

This thesis deals with the issue of nursing care provided for seniors in the terminal stage of living in retirement homes. The theoretical part describes the problems of Gerontology and Geriatrics, provides health care services for seniors and their options. The greater part of the theory deals with the characteristics of the homes for elderly, including the provision of care and services but there are also pitfalls that each care for the elderly bring in these facilities. There is also the is the question of dying, palliative and terminal care in geriatrics described. The research was carried out in the practical part. It is about the nursing care of the clients in the terminal stage in the facility for seniors U Hvízdala, and for the elderly facility in Máj. The research was conducted through the observation, in the combination with nursing documentation of selected respondents in the terminal stage. The purpose of this research was to analyze the state of the documentation relating to the issue of the care at this stage, to determine the current status of these facilities and to make a comparison of the current state of compliance with the documentation. The results highlight the need for complex nursing care in the terminal stage of the selected respondents, although the psychological, social and spiritual needs emerge in this period of biological. The documentation relating to this area should be accessed more individually to this issue to ensure comprehensive care needed.
Social Activation Programs for Seniors from the Perspective of Social Workers

This Bachelor thesis entitled Social Activation Programs for Seniors from the Perspective of Social Workers mainly deals with the issue of social activation programs that are provided to seniors in residential facilities. The main objective is to ascertain the views of social workers on these programs. There are set two main research questions in the Bachelor thesis. The first one deals with the practicality and quality of activation programs for seniors, the second research question examines the opinion of social workers, whether the social activation programs are used by seniors. The theoretical part describes the current situation related to aging, engaged in gerontology, biological, psychological and social manifestations of aging, preparing for retirement, communication with the elderly, seniors' quality of life, social exclusion of older people, further discusses the services provided to the elderly , the role of social workers in residential facilities, individual planning, active aging, activation programs for seniors. It was chosen the qualitative research method through semi-structured interviews with the social workers in selected residential social services for the empirical part. It was set five basic questions and one additional question regarding to social activation programs for the interview. The results of the work showed that social activation programs for the elderly in residential facilities are from the perspective of social workers very beneficial, efficient, high-quality, relevant, they are used by seniors and improve the quality of life for seniors. The results of this Bachelor thesis can be used to improve the quality and the numbers of activation programs which are offered to seniors in residential facilities.
The Contribution of the Individual Planning for a Client of Home for the Elderly in Domažlice, Baldovská 583

This bachelor´s thesis deals with the contribution of the individual planning for a client who uses social services in a Home for the elderly in Domažlice. The theoretical part deals with the description of the Home for the elderly in Domažlice. It also describes what it means to work with a focus on the person, what is the support, assistance and care. The last chapter concerns the description of the process of the individual planning. In the research section the contribution of the individual planning is determined through the interview process for the client of a home for the elderly in Domažlice and validates my experience acquired knowledge. My findings are verified by my practice. In short we can say that the greatest contribution of individual planning for a client in a Home for the elderly in Domažlice is in the maintenance of human dignity and respect for privacy, satisfaction with the services provided, active involvement in the course of providing services, the development of self-sufficiency, a sense of individuality. In addition, individual planning for clients, safety, security, performance wishes, understanding, skills development.
Model of an ideally sized long stay institution delivering social care services

The diploma thesis deals with finding optimal size for model of residential facilities providing social services. The thesis is divided into two parts. The first part deals with social services in general context, presents actual legislation and publishes the view of experts who handle with issues in providing social services. The second research part is focused on data analysis and quantitative survey of social services users. Quantitative research is made by interrogation method through questionnaire. Secondary data analysis is specified on financial costs those facilities and its differences. The aim of diploma thesis is to create optimal model of residential facilities providing social care services. Diploma thesis works with two hypotheses. Hypothesis 1 is : ?The capacity of residential facility providing social services for more than 70 clients do not guarantee providing better services than facilities with lower capacity of clients. ? This hypothesis was confirmed. Hypothesis was statistically tested through working hypotheses and shown in contingency tables and also graphically by descriptive statistics. Hypothesis 2 is : ?Operating costs of residential facility providing social services for less than 70 clients are higher than residential facility providing social services for more than 70 clients.? This hypothesis was also confirmed. Hypothesis was statistically tested by statistic tests and summarized in charts. Results were statistically processed by using multi-scale classification of data in contexts with obtained nominal, ordinal, and cardinal variables. To analyse categorical data were used two statistical tests ? chi square test of independence and t-test. Questionnaires were distributed to the registered providers of social services after their written agreement. Total of 290 questionnaires were sent out and 214 of them returned. Return the sample reached 74%. Importance of this thesis is to get a better insight into the optimal size of residential facility providing social services from the perspective of clients and operating costs. The gathered data from quantitative survey could be useful for students, social workers and in general for all people profesionally focused on the area of building, providing and improving residential facilities providing social services.
Employment forms of comprehensive rehabilition in senior´s house.

This bachelor?s thesis deals with application of forms of comprehensive rehabilitation in care for elderly. The main task of this study is to determine the level of awareness of application of forms of comprehensive rehabilitation in care for elderly, namely of employees of the Home for the elderly Kaplice, which is located in the South Bohemian Region. The first section of the theoretical part is dedicated to characteristics of comprehensive rehabilitation, primarily to characteristics of forms of comprehensive rehabilitation.The therapeutic part of comprehensive rehabilitation includes diagnostic and therapeutic measures, which improve the functionality of the organism. Another essential section of the comprehensive rehabilitation is the social rehabilitation. The aim of this form is the process of integration of the individual. Subsequently, this form provides to people with disabilities legal protection, as well as financial support. Another section is the educational rehabilitation. The effectiveness of this form of comprehensive rehabilitation is seen primarily in childhood and adolescence. The last section is occupational rehabilitation. The goal of the occupational rehabilitation is to encourage people with disabilities, and to improve their employability in the labor market The second section of the theoretical part describes in detail the issue of aging and old age in relation to the changes occurring in these stages of life. With aging, there is a destructive mental processes. Old age is also accompanied by a series of changes that take place in the social situation of a person. Above all it is retirement which brings a number of changes that considerably influence the economic situation of a person. The last section of the theoretical part discusses the institutional care for the elderly, namely homes for the elderly. The practical part of this study describes the views of respondents on the application of forms of comprehensive rehabilitation care for elderly. To acquire the information, the qualitative research method was used, more precisely the method of questioning. In addition, technique of semistructured interview was used. The interview was done with five respondents who are employees of the Home for the elderly Kaplice. The obtained data were subsequently analyzed using the cluster method. Data were divided into groups according to similarity of the statements related to the particular sections of the interview. There was established the main research question: What is the awareness of the application of forms of comprehensive rehabilitation in care for elderly? In addition, there were defined four sub-research questions of the research. The research showed that the care of seniors is chiefly realized through medical and social rehabilitation, which meets their needs. It is primarily the health care and motivational activities what significantly affects the quality of life of seniors. Educational and social form is not represented much in the care, mainly because of lack of interest from the clients, caused by their poor health. Respondents perceived the comprehensive rehabilitation as comprehensive care that helps individuals to improve their health. However, they recommended the medical environment. They did not mention the possibilities of occupational or educational rehabilitation. This bachelor?s thesis may serve as an information resource for the management of the Home for elderly Kaplice. The gained knowledge may also serve as a source for an expert workshop for employees of Home for elderly Kaplice.
The issue of violence against seniors. Home for the Elderly and Home and special regime in Litvínov-Janov

This thesis deals with the psychological and physical violence against seniors. The work consists of theoretical and practical parts . The theoretical part deals with the age when a person becomes a senior , what problems arise in this phase of life . A special chapter is devoted to the issue of violence, which arises his comrades , victims , people who commit violence and why. Then I write about social services for the elderly and special homes where the survey is conducted. With social work is closely linked to ethics and ethical dilemmas. In the last chapter of the theoretical part of the thesis summarizes all the knowledge gained from the literature. The practical part contains the objective of the survey , which was a data analysis focused on the verification of the hypotheses , the protection of clients within the quality standards of social services and ethical code of the device. The survey was conducted through semi-standardized interviews, which were recorded in data sheets with clients / users of a rest home and home with a special regime in Litvinov - Genoa and to the staff of the direct care facilities , head of medico- social department, social workers . The output is the final report for a device that will then work with the survey results in improving the quality of social services. The operational objective was prepared list of contacts can help the victims of violence. Another objective was to address the identified ethical dilemmas. Information obtained from the interviews were analyzed in the presentation of results and then summarized in a final discussion.
Stenic and astenic role of emotions in interpersonal relationships, with a focus on relationships between the workers of direct care and the clients home for the elderly

The theme of the bachelor thesis are emotions in interpersonal relationships. The thesis is focused to relationships between the workers of direct care and the clients home for the elderly. The first chapter is shortly introducing the concept of emotions, mentioned is also their nonverbal meaning. The second chapter is engagend in emotions and their impact social behaving of humans in general. The third chapter refers to the importance of relationships between the helping workers and clients, where emotions and control over them plays essential part. The fourth chapter brings seniors emotional experiences in home for the elderly. Some emotions are described in details. The fifth chapter, which is practically oriented, finds out through quantitative research, how emotions like fear, anger and sadness, which are experiencing clients in senior housing, refer to workers of direct care and how these selected emotions are playing role in their interaktions.
