Case Study of Physiotherapy Treatment of the Patient with the Diagnosis of Unilateral Above - Knee Amputation

Title: Case Study of Physiotherapy Treatment of the Patient with the Diagnosis of Unilateral Above - Knee Amputation. Objectives: Summary of theoretical knowledge on the issue of amputation and processing of case study of the patient with the diagnosis of unilateral below knee amputation. Methods: The bachelor thesis consists of two parts. The general part includes the literature review of anatomy and kinesiology. The research furthermore investigates the problematic of amputations and prothesis, where it is focused on physiotherapy. The special part - case study of physiotherapy treatment of a patient with the diagnosis of unilateral above-knee amputation, contains case history, complex kinesiology examination, prosess of each therapy and final evaluation of its effect. The case study was written during rehabilitation practice in The Military University Hospital. Results: The applied therapeutic care positively contributed to the improved condition of the patient. Title: Case Study of Physiotherapy Treatment of a Patient with the Diagnosis of Unilateral Below Knee Amputation Objectives: Summary of theoretical knowledge on the issue of amputation and processing of case study of the patient with the diagnosis of unilateral below knee amputation. Methods: The general part includes the literature review of texts about anatomy, biomechanics, amputations and prosthetics of lower limb. The thesis is focused on the amputations of diabetes mellitus patients. The rehabilitation of patients after lower limb amputation is described there. The special part consists of the case history, differential balance, input complex kinesiology examination and therapeutic plan of care for the patient after transtibial amputation. Executed therapeutic units are described. The effect of therapeutic care is evaluated on the basis of output complex kinesiology examination. Results: The applied therapeutic care positively contributed to the improved condition of the patient. Title: The Comparison of Transfemoral socket Types Goals: The aim of this work is to describe the functional principals and biomechanic characteristics of transfemoral sockets and to create a complex educational text based on information from Czech and all-over-world technical bibliography. Methods: To write this work, quality research was used by means of collection and secondary analysis of data from technical documents, articles and magazines. To verify the information, the method of informal interview with an expert was used. Results: The results provide sufficient information to use this work as an educational document. Title: Casuistry of physiotherapy care for a patient with a diagnosis of left above-knee amputation. Aim: To summarize the theoretical findings and casuistry of patients with a diagnosis of left above- knee amputation Summary: The work consists of general and special parts. The general part includes a description of the anatomy and kinesiology of the lower limb. Furthermore, It present information relating to amputations, the causes of their formation, complications, prosthetics and rehabilitation from the perspective of physiotherapy. The special part includes a casuistry of a patient treated for left-sided transfemoral amputation, which includes entrance examination, the course of therapy, final examination and evaluation of the effect of treatment.

Title: Case report of a blind patient after upper knee amputation. Summary: The thesis consists of two parts, a general part and a special one. The general part contains theoretical description of the diagnosis. It includes the anatomy and kinesiology of a lower limbs. Outlines informations associated with prosthetic and rehabilitation from the perspective of physiotherapist. It will further include blindness, its causes and possibilities of rehabilitation with this kind of patient. In a special section, there will be processed casuistry of the blind patient with the diagnosis of the above-knee amputation of his left leg. There will be kinesiology analysis, design short- and long-term rehabilitation plan, an outline of the therapy, outgoing examination and evaluation of the effect of therapy. I made this case report during my rehabilitation practice on the Rehabilitation Clinic Malvazinky in Prague. Aim: Summary of theoretical knowledge and processing of case study of a patient with the diagnosis of gangrene of lower limbs. Method: The thesis consists of two parts - theoretic and specific. The theoretic part of the thesis contains topics related to amputations, prothesis, diagnostic methods and physioterapeutical treatments used when dealing with this diagnosis. The specific part of the thesis contains a case study of a physiotherapeutical treatment of a patient after unilateral above-knee amputation with the diagnosis of gangrene of lower limbs including complex kinesiologic examination, plan of rehabilitation, description of the progress of therapy and evaluation of the effects of therapy. The case study was compiled during an internship at the inpatiet rehabilitation ward of the Central Military Hospital in Prague. Title: Post operative care of diabetes patients after lower limb amputation Objectives: This bachelor thesis focuses on post-operative care of diabetes patients with lower limb amputation and its physiotherapeutic and prosthetic aspects. Methods: The methods used are those of information research. The data were obtained through a qualitative method of data collecting as well as a secondary analysis of information coming from academic articles, journals and other publications. Results: The thesis is based on information research and information gathered is presented in a complex and coherent form. In medicine, the thesis can be used by experts as a source of information in post-operative care of patients suffering from diabetes as well some other health problems. A plus is that information presented is comprehensible to the general public. The first part is general and concludes theoretical basis of the amputations, presenting their history, indications, complications, possible chirurgical interventions, orthotic prosthetics and rehabilitation care. The second part is special and concludes case report of a patient after amputation of both upper limbs. The case report consists of a musculoskeletal assessment of the patient and a re-assessment, rehabilitation plans, proposal of the therapy, performance of therapeutical units and finally evaluation of the effectiveness of the therapy. Title: Methodology of gait school of a patient with transtibial amputation Objectives: The main objective of this thesis is to give a comprehensive overview of methodology of the gait school from the prosthetic and rehabilitation care perspective of patient with transtibial amputation. This work includes the methods, procedures and practices to ensure successful work with the patient and their return and participation in everyday life. Methods: A qualitative research was used together with method of data collection, informal interview with an expert and participating observation. Results: The methodology of gait school is necessary for proper use and wearing prosthetic device. It positively influences the life of a patient with a transtibial amputation. In conclusion of this thesis is proven the crucial importance of starting with the methodology of gait school as soon as possible.
