The Comparison of Composite and Conventional Materials in the Bicycle Industry used
Ševeček, Jan ; Juliš, Martin (referee) ; Němec, Karel (advisor)
This final thesis summarizes the basic information on traditional materials for the manufacture of bycicle frames in comparison with composite materials. It describes the mechanical properties, technological characteristics, methods of forming and heat treatment of alloys. It informs of their use in bicycle industry.
Technical documentation of parts made from composite materials
Vlček, Dalibor ; Urík, Tomáš (referee) ; Klement, Josef (advisor)
This bachelor thesis describes the rules applicable for creation of technical documentation of parts made from composite materials. In the first part of this paper a brief characteristics of composite materials is introduced. In the subsequent parts the thesis deals with the basic principles of creating the documentation according to the European standard EN 4408. The main aim of this thesis is to summarize the rudimental conventions that refer to drawing of technical documentation of aircraft composite parts.
Race Car Passive Safety
Schultz, Richard ; Blaťák, Ondřej (referee) ; Hejtmánek, Petr (advisor)
This work presents all kinds of passive safety currently used in motorsport. It deals with their development, use, materials from which the element is made, the actual production and testing, irrespective of the particular category of motorsport. I tried to clarify the various elements in terms of function, what lies in their uniqueness and thus differ from those used for passive safety in passenger cars. Although the job title is Race cars passive safety, I mentioned in it about driver protective clothing as one of the elements to protect his life in case of emergency. Gradually, I deal with various aspects of security from leading to an accident as the first show its functionality to features such as fireproof clothing, seeking to mitigate the consequences of an accident.
The Material Selection for Bicycle Frames
Šály, Peter ; Petrenec, Martin (referee) ; Němec, Karel (advisor)
Bachelor's thesis summarises basic information about materials that are used for production of bicykle's frames. It concerns not only with common materials that are the most used nowadays, thus aluminium alloys and composite materials – carbon in the concrete, but it also pointed on the other, alternative materials. It also explains specific terms that relate to concrete materials or to their technological treating. Each material has listed characteristic which is objective thus measurable and it results from physical-chemical's properties and treating possibilities of concrete materials. It conveys assumption of frame behaviour made from this material. Subjective characteristic is also listed and it results from practice – from the feelings by real ride. Comparison of these two approaches resulted in conclusion which may help in choosing material for bicykle's frame which we have specific requirements on. Next thesis concerns with usage of concrete materials by various producers whether world producers or national ones, with orientation on brands which are interesting because of their treating of unusual materials or they are interesting because of their specific treating of common materials. There is a brief review of most used materials for concrete types of bicycle's frames at the end of the thesis.
On the Problems of LEFM of Composite Materials
Kopp, Dalibor ; Profant, Tomáš (referee) ; Klusák,, Jan (advisor)
The objects of this bachelor thesis is to familiarize oneself with the basics of linear elastic fracture mechanics (LEFM) of homogeneous materials and to specify these problems for composite materials. The work is divided into three parts. The first part is aimed at the basics of LEFM. The second part is concerned with generalization of LEFM. The third part is oriented to the numerical application of the studied problems to notches composed of two orthotropic materials.
Assessment of C/PPS composites degradation indicators using acoustic measurement
Kytýř, Daniel ; Valach, Jaroslav ; Doktor, Tomáš ; Jiroušek, Ondřej
Changes of mechanical properties, namely of modulus of elasticity, often play a role of damage accumulation indicators in the framework of fatigue behaviour of composite materials. In order to improve the reliability of these indicators for identification of material degradation process it is necessary to eliminate the influence of external loading and volume forces associated with thermal expansion of heterogeneous material at various temperatures. Therefore the paper deals with description of experimental assessment of relation between external load and material stiffness and also studies the dependency of material stiffness on temperature. For the monitoring of degradation process ultrasonic measurement was used. Obtained results are discussed with respect to fatigue testing of material and also interpreted from the micromechanical point of view.

Matsuda, K. ; Mizutani, M. ; Nishimura, K. ; Kawabata, T. ; Hishinuma, Y. ; Aoyama, S. ; Müllerová, Ilona ; Frank, Luděk ; Ikeno, S.
Scanning low energy electron microscopy (SLEEM) is a useful tool for observation of insulating samples and determination of microstructure on a specimen surface. In the present work, we have applied the SLEEM to examine the microstructure contrast between boride particles and Al matrix.

Matsuda, K. ; Kawabata, T. ; Uetani, Y. ; Ikeno, S. ; Müllerová, Ilona ; Frank, Luděk
Summarized are results of examining the microstructure of various metal matrix composite materials on the basis of aluminum, achieved by means of the low energy scanning electron microscopy.
Some surface improvement and osseointegration
Suchý, T. ; Balík, Karel ; Sedláček, R. ; Sochor, M.
As a further perspective material to be used in orthopedics, glass fibers (R-glass, 21055 satin-woven fabric, VETROTEX, Saint Gobain, France) and polysiloxane matrix (M130, Lučební závody Kolín, Czech Republic) based composite materials have been investigated.
Advanced signal processing in composite material properties investigation
Blaháček, Michal ; Landa, Michal ; Zídek, Jan
Composite material parameters evaluation depends on our ability to simplify complex wave field. Fractional wave mode arrival usually evokes transient effects in the measured signal. In the paper new method of transient effects detection is discussed. The method is efficient tool for fractional wave mode detection and wave arrival time computation.
