Nippertová, Lucie ; Nový, Alois (referee) ; Nový, Vítězslav (advisor)
Diploma thesis is about new town hall for the district Brno-Kohoutovice. The part of it is small hall for multiple uses of local community, commercials areas and common rooms. The place can be called the square. Kohoutovice is really special - they are almost whole from prefab houses from 70s. This affected creating of building and whole thinking about how should the building look like. Functionalism urbanism is mostly like randomly scattered garbage. It is not right if we try to make the new buildings to fit in. I have designed buildings, which are responding to qualities of place and which are creating a new senses of the area. The new town hall is symbol of local community.

Olivíková, Barbora ; Joura, Ivo (referee) ; Mikulášek, David (advisor)
The main goal of the proposal was to solve the problem of combining socio-cultural centre with town hall. To use flexibility and mix-use and connect all functions so they work together. The main idea about function of the building was how the people feels when they go to such a building as town hall. The goal was to propose the space which is transparent and remove the barriers between bureaucrats and public, so you can already see from outside what is happening inside. The concept was to design long building with the foyer along the side oriented towards the square. All is based on transparency which supports democracy and trust, removes weird feelings about solid walls and closed doors. The fasade is made from long thin wooden pieces with glass between, the appearence of the building is jumped and sloped and pointed shape which relates with the functions and break the stereotype of the estate urban structure.

Design of a new town hall for the part of city Brno - Kohoutovice helps to create a functioning public space. City Hall is open to its mass and the square through the passage on the first floor does not preclude views in Kohoutovice valley. Socio - cultural hall is the second mass and utilizes existing building of Albert. The area of public space is fleshed out with new masses into more intimate and more graspable form, there is a better public space, the center of the district.
