Risk analysis of energy storage
Albert, Tomáš ; Kracík, Petr (referee) ; Baláš, Marek (advisor)
This bachelor thesis analyzes the risk of accumulation of electrical energy and problems with its storage. The first part describes the various storage systems of electricity and are given their advantages and disadvantages. In the second part systems are compared against each other. The final section is intended suitability of each system and its use for application in the vicinity of Brno.
Hydrogen and automobiles
Břoušek, Lukáš ; Kloss, Ondřej (referee) ; Kaplan, Zdeněk (advisor)
The purpose of this thesis is to demonstrate the possibilities of hydrogen-based gear in personal cars. The thesis also describes the hydrogen from the perspective of the characteristics, the form of production, conserving, distributing and its utilization. Furthermore, in more details are described and compared currently well-known hydrogen-based devices, for this purpose the complex analysis Well to Wheel will be used. Final part of this publication will be devoted to evaluation of this analysis and also the thesis will outline what are the probable trends of the hydrogen-based technologies.
Integrating renewable energy sources into the power system
Kadlec, Tomáš ; Štelcl, Otakar (referee) ; Moskalík, Jiří (advisor)
The bachelor’s thesis shows challenges with using renewable sources of energy and their integration into the power system. It provides an overview of renewable energy sources and how they affect the functions of power system. It also includes a description of power system and unstable energy production of renewable sources. Thesis shows possible solutions of this instability, especially by using energy storage and some developments in power systems.
Hydrogen fuels
Umlauf, Martin ; Bébar, Ladislav (referee) ; Jícha, Jaroslav (advisor)
Paper presents a basic review and comparison of energy-conservation made of renewable sources. Principal question of paper concerns evaluation of hydrogen-use made of electrolysis of water. First part of the thesis focuses on the production of energy from renewable sources and the possibility of energy-accumulation. The next section describes methods of hydrogen production and utilization of hydrogen as a fuel for combustion engines. Attention is paid to various aspects dealing with construction of combustion engines using hydrogen. Final part of the study presents comparison between combustion engines using known sorts of fuels as to their pollution and emission-level. Next comparison deals with economic cost per kilometer, when different sort of fuels are taken into account. Conclusion concerns approximate calculation of the production of hydrogen from water by electrolysis using photovoltaic power plants.
Hydrogen fuels
Tyagunova, Victoria ; Bébar, Ladislav (referee) ; Jícha, Jaroslav (advisor)
This thesis presents a basic review of production and use of hydrogen fuels. The main focus of this paper is the use of hydrogen in industry and power engineering. The first part concerns various industrial production technologies. The next section is dedicated to the description of hydrogen use for energy conservation, fuel cells, power plants and combustion engines. it includes the comparison of hydrogen and classic fuels. The final part focuses on the economy and costs of hydrogen production and use. This paper will evaluate hydrogen as a potencial fuel for future and will estimate it’s advantages and disadvantages in comparison with conventional fuels.
Possibilities of energy storage
Sedlák, Petr ; Hrnčířová, Michaela (referee) ; Moskalík, Jiří (advisor)
Because part of energy produced from renewable sources is growing continuously, increasing the gap between consumption and production of electricity. This has a negative impact on the electricity grid, therefore hence the need to accumulate energy. In the following work is mapped out different ways of accumulation of electrical energy. There is described their used, advantages and disadvantages of different storage systems
Smart grids, smart appliances and power accumulation
Súkup, Tomáš ; Fortelný, Zdeněk (referee) ; Pospíšil, Jiří (advisor)
The thesis deals with problems of power consumption and related areas of energy storage and its distribution to consumers through smart grids. Then on appliances applicable to these grids and the possible savings from the use of concessional tariffs.
Different use of the wind energy.
Sukup, Jan ; Houdková, Lucie (referee) ; Jícha, Jaroslav (advisor)
This thesis describe main kinds of wind turbines, principle of their functions and their usage to electricity generation. The second part deals with ways to storing wind energy. There is description of compressed air energy storage technology and their combination with combustion of biomass. Second mentioned energy storage technology is electrolysis of water and possibility of usage hydrogen.
Economic analysis of energy storage devices contained in EFSI 2015-2017
Kůt, Petr ; Macháč, Jan (advisor) ; Vojáček, Ondřej (referee)
As a result of support of renewable energy sources in Europe the fluctuations in electricity production occurs and threaten the stability of the electrification network. For this reason, we can monitor growing demand for technology solutions that are able to effectively eliminate these fluctuations. Devices for storing electrical energy appears suitable. This thesis deals with the economic analysis of the projected facilities in the Czech Republic that have applied for support from the European Fund for Strategic Investment (EFSI), compared to other model devices. As part of the work there was used method of cost-effectiveness analysis to evaluate various technology solutions based on the ability to provide ancillary services. Consequently on the results of thesis we can say the most cost-effective project is under current conditions, construction equipment storage technology using compressed air CAES located at Dolní Rožinka included in EFSI 2015-2017. Systémy pro akumulaci elektrické energie z obnovitelných zdrojů energie
Vysoké učení technické v Brně, Fakulta elektrotechniky a komunikačních technologií, Brno ; Ústav anorganické chemie AV ČR, Řež u Prahy ; SOLARTEC s.r.o., Rožnov pod Radhoštěm ; Sedlaříková, Marie ; Vondrák, Jiří ; Bařinka, Radim
Cílem projektu je zlepšení vlastností běžných i méně běžných akumulačních systémů využívající elektrochemické děje (lithiové baterie, superkondenzátory, palivové články) a praktické ověření vlastností netradičních systémů využívající například energii stlačeného vzduchu. Na výzkumných pracovištích řešitele i spoluřešitelů byly v tomto roce prováděny veškeré experimentální, vývojové a výzkumné práce. Vývojové práce v oblasti gelových elektrolytů byly zaměřeny především na zvýšení životnosti materiálů kladné elektrody. U výzkumu superkondezátorů směřovala velká část prací především k optimalizaci postupu při výrobě elektrod. Palivové články, respektive vývoj jejich jednotlivých části (membrány, elektrody apod.) dosáhl zajímavého pokroku. Na celosvětové konferenci "New Materials for Electrochemical Systems 2006" v Montrealu zaznamenala prezentace současného výzkumu palivových článků na řešitelských pracovištích zajímavý ohlas. V oblasti palivových článků lze v blízké době očekávat podstatné snížení ceny. K dosažení větší komplexnosti výsledků v této oblasti byl pořízen experimentální elektrolyzér s přizpůsobeným napájením pro fotovoltaický panel.
