Meta-Learning in the Area of Data Mining
Kučera, Petr ; Hlosta, Martin (referee) ; Bartík, Vladimír (advisor)
This paper describes the use of meta-learning in the area of data mining. It describes the problems and tasks of data mining where meta-learning can be applied, with a focus on classification. It provides an overview of meta-learning techniques and their possible application in data mining, especially  model selection. It describes design and implementation of meta-learning system to support classification tasks in data mining. The system uses statistics and information theory to characterize data sets stored in the meta-knowledge base. The meta-classifier is created from the base and predicts the most suitable model for the new data set. The conclusion discusses results of the experiments with more than 20 data sets representing clasification tasks from different areas and suggests possible extensions of the project.

Development of materials used for downhill skis production
Václavík, Martin ; Jech, David (referee) ; Pavloušková, Zina (advisor)
The submitted thesis is a retrieval type and is concerned with the technologies and materials used in the manufacture of downhill skis with a deeper focus on the last ten years. Examined are materials for the manufacture of ski cores as well as other parts of the ski, and that in terms of comparison of the construction materials and technologies. Listed are basic elements and characteristics of skis, methods of manufacture, materials for the manufacture of individual parts of the skis and, last but not least, the types of skis. The work is eked out with the analysis of several samples of skis, on which were made cuts, they were observed and structures were compared. The aim of this observation was to determine whether the materials found in the practical section corresponds to the information contained in the theoretical part.
Certified methodology (II) for identification of textile and non-textile components and their conservation (e-learning)
KUŽELOVÁ, Zdenka ; ŠEVČÍK, Richard ; VYSKOČILOVÁ, Gabriela ; HANÁČKOVÁ, Pavla ; PŘÍHODA, Jiří ; NASADIL, Petr
The methodology deals with the conservation of textile, textile components and non-textile parts and components as well. A complete conservation process is described in details including some of the processes presented in "Certified methodology for conservators of textile focused on artefact survey and its documentation".

Extraction of bioavailable proportion of metals in diesel emissions and atmospheric aerosols using artificial lung fluids
Coufalík, Pavel ; Mikuška, Pavel ; Křůmal, Kamil ; Večeřa, Zbyněk ; Vojtíšek, M. ; Matoušek, Tomáš
The determination of bioavailable proportion of selected metals in biofuel exhaust and atmospheric aerosols, and a comparison of artificial lung fluids in relation to the yield of extraction were performed.
Long-term development of raw materials prices
Guchshina, Yekaterina ; Čabla, Adam (advisor) ; Vild, Jiří (referee)
This bachelor thesis focuses on long-term development of raw materials and connected with them Simon - Ehrlich bet. Basic data were obtained from accessible databases USGS. The aim of this thesis is by statistical methods to survey the development of prices five metals: copper, tungsten, tin, chromium and nickel, compare the data with an average income and money supply and try to extend famous Simon-Ehrlich wager to 2010 year. This thesis is divided into five parts. In the first two is described wager a background information of the development of metals and their prices. The statistical methods used in the work and their use to equalize basic data are described in the third and fourth chapters. The fifth chapter is an overview of prolongation bet in 1990-2010 period.
Metal archaeological finds from Slavonic castle hill in Bohemia - example from castle hill Sv. Ján in Netolice.
KUTÍLKOVÁ, Pavla
Thesis gives an overview about early middle age metal vestiges (with focus on castle hills) and about manufacturing processes associated with them. The main aim is description (including hooked illustration) and analysis of middle ages metal vestiges founded on castle hill Netolice. The results illustrates how the archaeological finds are reflected in day-to-day activities of medieval castle comunity.
Nd:YAG pulsed laser cutting of metals
Chmelíčková, Hana ; Polák, Marek
Pulsed Nd:YAG laser KLS 246-102 with average power 150W was developed for cutting, drilling and welding of metal and non-metal materials with thickness up to 2 mm. We chose an usually used kind of metal, steel (class 11) to test the optimal cutting conditions on various thickness from 0.1 to 1 mm.
The preventive protection of archaeological metal's objects
Šilhová, Alena ; Kreibichová, B.
The article informs about concrete specimens of archaeological objects for which preventive conservation represents the only method of protection. The second part of the article includes results of climatic evaluation of deposity rooms in the Departement of Prehistory and Protohistory of the National Museum Prague.
