Value Stream Mapping and Optimisation
Gašpierik, Andrej ; Špinka, Jiří (referee) ; Novotný, Radovan (advisor)
The aim of this semestral thesis is to use the Value Stream Mapping (VSM) as visual aids to describe streamlining the production process of vibration welding machines in Emerson Industrial Automation, in Nove Mesto nad Vahom. In this thesis is contained description and comparison of the software support for the VSM. Theoretical part describes the causes of lean production and discusses the purpose of mapping of the value stream and variables associated with it.
Value stream optimisation
Zátopek, Jakub ; Šandera, Josef (referee) ; Novotný, Radovan (advisor)
This master's thesis is dealing value stream optimisation of finished goods in company Continental Automotive Systems, s. r. o. between production lines and expedition in terms of lean production methods and industrial engineering. The first part deals with theoretical training methodologies and understanding of lean manufacturing and industrial engineering. The second part analyzes the value stream of finished goods between production lines and expeditinon, identifying bottlenecks and design improvements.
Lean production of electronics
Hála, Antonín ; Vyškov, Jiří Pospíšil, VELUX (referee) ; Špinka, Jiří (advisor)
Aim of diploma thesis “Lean production of electronics” is to apply lean production on workplaces in concrete company. Object of thesis is to orientate in lean production and apply its individual methods on workplace. First part of thesis is dealing with theoretical preparation, understanding lean production and methods of lean production. Second part is dealing with analyzing production processes, application of methods of lean production and designing workplaces.
Difficulties of applying lean administration to processes - subject to legislative regulation
Čebišová, Blanka ; Martínez, Felipe (advisor) ; Mejdrech, Vlastimil (referee)
The aim is to use Lean Administration metodology to improve custom clearance process steps that do not add value, but it is necessary to carry out them due to legislative reasons. The company has excellent results of applying the Lean principles in manufacturing and this thesis will bring to the company specific application of Lean Enterprise metodolgy outside manufacturing. The thesis is proof of the implementation of the company philosophy of continuous improvement, perfection does not exist, there is always the possibility of improvement.
Optimization of the material flow in the internal logistics at the selected company
Huryta, Michal ; Jirsák, Petr (advisor) ; Martínez, Felipe (referee)
This Master's thesis deals with the optimization of the material flow between two areas of the production plant of the selected company. At the beginning of the thesis there is shown theoretical framework which is needed for subsequent analysis and determination of the proposals to improvement. In this part there is pointed out to the understanding of the process and the various concepts related to the process management. Furthermore, for the purposes of the application part there are selected and analyzed specific tools of lean manufacturing. These include for example the spaghetti diagram, the product / process matrix and the value stream mapping as the essential tool of this thesis. All this is complemented by ABC analysis. After that these methods are also applied in the practical part for solving the current project in the selected company. At first in solving the project there is dealt with the determination of the most problematic material flow between two areas of production plant. Then there is suggested the optimization solutions and all of this is also complemented by the economic evaluation of the whole project.
Manufacturing process analysis of a specific product in the pharmaceutical industry
Pospíšilová, Lucie ; Martínez, Felipe (advisor) ; Hykš, Ondřej (referee)
Bachelor thesis utilizes lean tools to improve manufacturing process and suggest effective recommendations. The aim of this thesis is to use process mapping to identify possible wastes. The first part contains characterization of the pharmaceutical industry, market definition and classification of a company Zentiva Group a.s. The second part describes terms of lean manufacturing and analytic process tools used in the practical part. Process tools are applied to a manufacturing process of solid dosage forms mainly analgesic Ibalgin. Different kinds of process maps are used to show material and information flows and details of operations. In conclusion there are suggested improvements for some operations in the process, which were determined as weak spots according to the process maps.
Optimization of Packaging Technologies in a Certain Production Company
PROKOP, Zdeněk
An objective of this diploma thesis is to propose optimized system of packaging technologies in a certain foodstuff production enterprise considering logistical operations within distribution chain. Reverse flows, environmental impacts and final consumer needs are taken into an account. There are many degrees of freedom within packaging technologies. Every product could be packaged in several ways. However the final step for transportation is common for every piece of them, a trailer, a container or any other handling unit of higher grade. Czech beer market is highly saturated. Many domestic breweries concern to invest their forces to export markets. Application of current management and logistics tools and methods rescues capital sources for more effective usage.
Optimization of a cutting tool procurement process at a manufacturing company
Benedikt, Jiří ; Jirsák, Petr (advisor) ; Reinhardt, Jan (referee)
This thesis is focused on lean thinking and its application on a real case of a logistic process in a manufacturing company. Firstly, the concept of lean thinking is described together with its history and relation to other management concepts. Key terms for lean thinking are defined, such as value and waste. Value stream mapping method and basic inventory management models are also described. Secondly, the real case part is focused on process optimization of procurement of cutting tool in a company that manufactures aluminum pistons mainly for automotive industry. The value stream was mapped and lead time calculated. Several data analyses were performed, such as ABC analysis, analysis of inventory costs and description of consignment stock option. Finally, several measurements for optimization of the cutting tool procurement process were recommended based on theoretical and practical research. The goal was to increase the process stability, flexibility and to reduce cost. The measurements include formalization of the whole process and implementing supplier evaluation system. The part includes detailed proposal of such system. The goal of this thesis was to verify a hypothesis that application of lean thinking tools can help with optimizing the cutting tool procurement process. The hypothesis was verified on theoretical level. The actual implementation of the measures will show the real benefits for the company.
Lean company
Prášilík, Zdeněk ; Klečka, Jiří (advisor) ; Krejčí, Filip (referee)
Lean company could be characterized with high effectivity of internal proceses and sustain elimination of waste. Lean company uses several methods, which are aplicated on many proceses along whole value stream of the product. This essay includes most known and used methods such as: just in time method, kaizen improovement philosophy, based on systematic improovement activities iniciated by employees. Also systems of autonomation in production - jidoka, improoved logistic methods and pull-system using kanban, nivelization of the production flow by heijunka method, error proofing systems poka-yoke, systems of organizing office and workplace 5S. All of it summarized in economic results. In analytical part, trying to find out, whether lean systems take effect in services. Using comparison of two real estate agencies, I have find out that lean systems really exists even in services. Moreover there is a big difference between company that uses, and company which do not.
In-plant logistics optimalization
Maroušek, Jan ; Pernica, Petr (advisor) ; Jirsák, Petr (referee)
In a theoretical part of this work there is introduced a general view on logistics and its development, than a view on creating value for customer, basics of lean production, lean thinking and following methods as Six Sigma and Value Stream Mapping. At the end of the theoretical part there is mentioned outsourcing of logistics services and view on relationship between logistics provider and a client. In a practical part there is introduced a project of in-plant logistics optimalization in a factory producing steel pannels for MINI Cooper production. At the beginning there is introduced the factory itself, logistics services provider and a background of the project birth. Than there is a step by step description of a work on the project respecting a DMAIC methodology, it means that it's a classical example of a Six Sigma project using a Value stream mapping tool.
