Possibilities of using waste foundry sand
Kopecký, Filip ; Koplík, Jan (referee) ; Opravil, Tomáš (advisor)
Considering increasing manufacture of metallic materials made in foundries increases also production of waste foundry sands. Foundry sands that remain after moulding and can not be reused in the prouction process anymore are usually not recycled nowadays and in the better cases they are clasified as a fill materials. These secondary raw materials are produced in relatively big amounts. Thats why is apropriate to search for their effective reuse. One of the possibilities is using of this materials in buliding industry. Thanks to their constitution and properties we can consider the possibilties of an alkaline activation, additional source to alkalit activated systems or like part of refractories.
Chemical wall clamp based on fast-setting geopolymeric binders
Novotný, Radoslav ; Kalina, Lukáš (referee) ; Šoukal, František (advisor)
The aim of this work is to develope fast-setting geopolymeric binders applicable in the chemical wall clamp. This clamping systems are big trend because of easy application, ability to transfer big forces and short setting time. Binders of this systems are based on polymeric resin. Their raw materials are expensive, toxic and flammable substances. Based on this consideration an anorganic fast-setting geopolymeric binder was developed. This binders consist of mixture of metakaolin and precipitated silica activated by potassium hydroxide. Binder were characterized by suitable analytic methods (XRD, SEM, DTA). The results of this metods were used for optimalization of binder properties.
Preparation and properties of authentic geopolymers
Bartoňová, Pavla ; Koplík, Jan (referee) ; Havlica, Jaromír (advisor)
Evaluation of physical and chemical properties of geopolymer composites based on alkali aktivated metakaoline and silicate oxide.
Role of superplastisizers in alkali activated aluminate silicate mixtures
Habrdová, Eva ; Šoukal, František (referee) ; Havlica, Jaromír (advisor)
Preparation of geopolymers with main components of slug and metakaolin. After being alcali activated the raw materials are complemented by superplasticizers of different kind and concentracion.
The technology of aerated concrete
Koutný, Ondřej ; Repka, Martin (referee) ; Opravil, Tomáš (advisor)
Civil engineering is integral part of industry in each developed country. Naturally the construction point does not play the main role here, but also the material of building segments. In last fifty years the new possibility has been discovered against classic brick in form of autoclaved aerated concrete. This material gathers its customers not only due to low weight and easy application with sufficient strength, but particularly due to excellent heat-insulation properties. Contemporary trend in research of aerated concrete points to application of alternative raws, as for example metakaoline, to improve final properties of product by preserving of current technology and price.
Color possibilities of artificial sandstones based on geopolymers
Lattenberg, Pavel ; Kalina, Lukáš (referee) ; Opravil, Tomáš (advisor)
This thesis deals with the possibility of preparing artificial sandstone based on geopolymer matrix and ways to achieve a natural appearance and good mechanical properties. The theoretical part is devoted to the current state of knowledge in the field of geopolymers and their recovery potential, but also the natural sandstone and its geographic diversity. The practical part deals with the preparation of various types of binding systems based on metakaolin, ground blast furnace slag and water glass. Their comparison, and the possibility the appearance and characteristics change in the composition of the filler.
Utilization possibilitiesof foundry sands in geopolymers systems
Kopecký, Filip ; Másilko, Jiří (referee) ; Opravil, Tomáš (advisor)
Considering increasing manufacture of cast iron, steels and other metallic materials made in foundries increases also production of waste foundry sands. Foundry sands that remain after moulding and can not be reused in the prouction process are usually not recycled nowadays and in the better cases they are clasified as a fill materials. Becouse these secondary raw materials are produced in relatively big amounts it is apropriate to search for their effective reuse. One of the possibilities is using of this materials in buliding industry. Thanks to their constitution and properties we can consider the possibilties of an alkaline activation. Thats why this work discusses the possibilities of the alkaline activation of the waste foundry sands.
Study of synthetic sandstones preparation possibilities
Solik, Jaroslav ; Kalina, Lukáš (referee) ; Opravil, Tomáš (advisor)
This thesis explores the possibility of developing synthetic sandstones based on alkaline-activated (geopolymer) binders. The goal is to design an appropriate connective system of optimal concentration, so that the prepared material (artificial stone) showed similar characteristics as natural. The experimental section summarizes the experiments that explore several different alkali connective systems. The aim is to compare the properties of binders prepared from methakaolin (Mefisto K-05 and L-05) alkali-activated by sodium or potassium water glass. For comparison with these connective systems were also prepared samples of commercially supplied geopolymer binder called Baucis
Properties of alkai-activated aluminosilicates subjected to high temperatures
Halasová, Kristýna ; Bayer, Patrik (referee) ; Rovnaník, Pavel (advisor)
Currently the concept of geopolymer or alkali activated aluminosilicate is very mentioned topic. Many studies concerning utilization of these materials have already been made, but if we want to use these materials in building industry in the future, further research will be needed. This thesis deals with the influence of high temperatures on alkali-activated slag, fly ash and metakaolin-based composites. The work compares mechanical and technological properties, microstructural changes and effect off iller on the geopolymer composites heated at 200–1200 °C. In conclusion, the individual properties are compared and application possibilities of these materials are evaluated.
Study of the influence of additions on the durability of aerated concrete
Halešová, Adéla ; Voves, Jiří (referee) ; Hubáček, Adam (advisor)
The aim of this work is to summarise and consider the possibilities of using admixtures and their influence on the durability of aerated concrete. This bachelor's thesis is based on research findings concerning aerated concrete. Furthermore, it deals with the study of inert and active additions. The experimental part is focused on testing trial samples with the addition of admixtures. It examines what is the rate of the possible chosen physically-mechanical features such as the rate of air density, the durability of surface against the effect of water and chemical defrosting substances and achieving the required strength.
