Analýza finančních toků spojených se zdravotnictvím a spokojenost pacientů se zdravotní péčí poskytovanou v soukromě vlastněných nemocnicích v České republice
Supová, Aneta ; Štěrbová, Ludmila (advisor)
This Master Thesis focuses on the structure of health related financial flows and patient satisfaction with privately owned hospitals in the Czech Republic. The main aim was to provide a general overview of health care system in the Czech Republic, to describe how the health care system is financed, and to find out if patients hospitalized in privately owned hospitals are more satisfied with the care provided in this type of hospitals. Having analyzed the major statistical reports from the WHO, EU, and the Institution of Health Information and Statistics of the Czech Republic, the theoretical part provided a comprehensive summary of health care, health financial flows, and pricing of health treatments. The practical part, on the other hand, shows distribution of health costs among differently aged people in the form of contribution/expenditure ratio. Finally, the results of the questionnaires conducted among patients in privately owned hospitals enabled to conclude that patients in the Czech Republic are still not fully aware of the difference between privately and publically owned hospitals.

The International Symposium on Experimental Methods and Numerical Simulation in Engineering Sciences continues the tradition of the Czech-German bilateral symposium founded by prof. Karl-Hans Laermann and prof. Stanislav Holý in 1985. In the following years, the symposium was extensively developed by prof. Josef Jíra. The symposium shall bring together mainly young scientists who are actively involved in experimental solid mechanics, theoretically and practically, in order to exchange experience, to report on the present state-of-art as well as on running research projects, to discuss due questions and problems and to promote the co-operation between individuals as well as between institutions. Therefore in the symposium discussions will play a highly significant role.

Methodology for evaluation of the gear windage loss and thermal load of a tooth
Bauer, Petr ; Bartoš, Ondřej ; Hrubý, Jan ; Kordík, Jozef ; Krátký, Tomáš ; Sedlář, Milan
This report contains results of experiments identifying thermo-physical properties of a gearbox oil mist. The main part of the report studies a dependency of a gear wheel windage power loss on the radial and axial gap between the wheel and its enclosure. This parametric study relies primarily on the results coming from numerical simulations (CFD analysis). For the default enclosure configuration the evaluated power dissipation is compared with the values obtained using theoretical relationships. The theory is based on one-dimensional turbulent velocity profiles over smooth and rough surfaces. A summary of the theoretical analysis and the derivations are also included in the report.\nThe influence of a tooth shape on the windage power loss is also studied using the numerical simulations. A change of a tooth top surface angle is technologically easily realizable adjustment, and can have a positive effect on the power loss reduction. In the report there are performed simulations for varying angles of this surface and the expected improvements in aerodynamic properties are confirmed.\nThe last part of the report contains the formulation of boundary conditions for numerical evaluation of gear wheel heat balance. This information is documented more in detail in related research reports.\n

This final report summarizes the progress of work and results for the whole period of the project. The subject is modelling of tasks within the project Decovalex-2015, development of Flow123d software, and preparation of documents for its standardization using the comparison results with foreign teams. TUL team participated in Task C1 (THMC processes in a single fracture) using the software Geochemist’s Workbench and their own tool TrAper for connecting chemistry and deformation and Task C2 (flow and transport in the vicinity of the tunnel Bedřichov) using Flow123d software. Task C2 also includes the formulation of the assignment and coordination of the solution of other teams. The ÚGN team participated in Task A, focusing on saturation of bentonite seals in clay rock and closing the gap, with the help of the COMSOL Multiphysics software. The outputs are the joint report by international teams and papers in a special issue of a journal. The developed models and lessons learned contribute to the ability to predict phenomena in the deep geological repository. Another result is a set of documents for the Flow123d software. All of which are attached to the report as attachments.

The language of medical reports and its information-lexical analysis
Přečková, Petra ; Zvárová, Jana (advisor) ; Hanzlíček, Petr (referee) ; Skalská, Hana (referee)
The objective of the dissertation thesis has been the information-lexical analysis of Czech medical reports and the usability of international classification systems in the Czech healthcare environment. The analysis of medical reports has been based on the attributes of the Minimal Data Model for Cardiology (MDMC). Narrative medical reports and structured medical reports from the ADAMEK software application have been used. For the thesis SNOMED CT and ICD-10 classification systems have been used. There has been compared how well attributes of MDMC are recorded in narrative and structured medical reports. The language analysis of the Czech narrative medical reports has been made. A new application for measuring diversity in medical reports written in any language is proposed. The application is based on the general concepts of diversities derived from f-diversity, relative f- diversity, self f-diversity and marginal f-diversity. The thesis has come to the conclusion that using a free text in medical reports is not consistent and not standardized. The standardized terminology would bring benefits to physicians, patients, administrators, software developers and payers and it would help healthcare providers as it could provide complete and easily accessible information that belongs to the process of...

Regulation of Cathepsin D Activity and Activation
Máša, Martin ; Mareš, Michael (advisor) ; Jonáková, Věra (referee) ; Holada, Karel (referee)
PhD Thesis ABSTRACT REGULATION OF CATHEPSIN D ACTIVITY AND ACTIVATION Martin Máša supervisor: Michael Mareš Department of Biochemistry Faculty of Science Charles University Institute of Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic PRAGUE 2009 Introduction Cathepsin D (CD) is an aspartic peptidase located in the lysosomes of all mammalian cells, its main role is catabolic degradation of proteins. More over CD is known to participate in a range of physiological processes such as apoptosis and tissue homeostasis, as well as in the regulation of angiogenesis and the production of peptidic antigens. The role of CD in pathophysiology is associated with several diseases such as Alzheimer's disease and cancer. Alzheimer's disease is a neurodegenerative disorder, which is generally considered to be the most common form of dementia. Progression of this disease is accompanied with the deposition of amyloid plaques (AP) in the brain, which leads to neurodegeneration. The AP is a fragment released from amyloid precursor protein (APP) cleaved by secretases1 . High levels of CD were found in cerebrospinal fluid of the Alzheimer's patients2 . It was demonstrated that CD is able to cleave APP and produce the pathogenic AP. A genetic polymorphism in the CD gene was reported, which changes...

Fatigue crack growth in 316L under uniaxial and torsional loading
Karol, Michal ; Chlupová, Alice ; Mazánová, Veronika ; Kruml, Tomáš
A study of fatigue crack initiation and growth in 316L austenitic stainless steel is reported. Fatigue experiments were performed at room temperature on full cylindrical specimens cycled axially (tension-compression) and on hollow cylindrical specimens tested in reversed torsion. Microstructure and damage evolution (crack initiation and growth) on the surface of mechanically and electrolytically polished specimens were observed using light and electron microscopy. An analysis of the orientation of microcracks and macrocracks which led to failure was made. Axially loaded specimens exhibited presence of several microcracks which resulted in macrocrack propagating perpendicularly to specimen axis. In the case of torsional loading, orientation of macrocrack propagation was dependent on applied load and presence of notches. High amount of short cracks initiated parallel to specimen axis. Long cracks exhibited a tendency to bifurcate with crack branches oriented at approximately 45° to the specimen axis.

The use of taping and kinesiotaping in physiotherapy
Ševečková, Tereza ; Polavková, Radka (advisor) ; Brožová, Kamila (referee)
This thesis is focused on the possibilities of using taping and kinesiotaping at physiotherapy. Application of the methods was provided in three different diagnoses. These were instability of the knee joint after plastic operation LCA, hallux valgus and backpain in the third trimester of pregnancy. The thesis is divided into the theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part describes the methods taping and kinesiotaping and it refers to the problems of the individual diagnoses. The practical part uses the qualitative research where three case reports are processed. The case reports contain introductory kinesiological analysis, progress of the therapy, checking kinesiological analysis and the therapy's evaluation. In the thesis taping and kinesiotaping are used individually despite the fact that these methods are just supplementary to the therapy. It is done in this way so as to be possible to evaluate the efficiency of these methods in selected diagnoses. Key words: taping, kinesiotaping, plastic operation LCA, knee joint after plastic operation LCA, hallux valgus, backpain, pregnancy
