Educating and evaluation of knowledge pupils primary school in the area of fire protectin
LEVÁ, Michaela
According to statistics the number of fires is still very high and the main cause is the negligence of people and underestimating of its danger, so that is right to be concerned with this problems. The solution is to educate people since their early age, e.g. within their school attendance. I decided to choose the theme of my dissertation, which deals with education of students in the area of fire protection. Personally, I would like to find out how the students are trained and educated in this issue and how their knowledge is, that is the chosen aim of the thesis. The goal of this dissertation is to find out the methods of educating and the level of knowledge of the fire protection in elementary schools. To achieve the goal and to complete the research questions I conducted a survey and structured interviews (dialogue). The survey was orientated to students of ninth grade in randomly chosen schools and should check out their knowledge in the problems. The structured interviews were realized with school management and were meant to find out the way or methods of teaching in this issue. The results were put into graphs and charts. In the end the comparison of students´ knowledge was done on two randomly chosen schools, or between two regions of the South Bohemia. The comparison was done within statistical counting methods. After the final evaluation that is possible to say that the knowledge of students in the area of the fire protection is on relatively good level. On the other way around, the methods and extensiveness of education in this area, in view of the fact that importance of fire protection, is in my point of view not sufficient and should have given more attention. In the statistical research it was found out that there are not big differences between the knowledge of students in chosen schools, or regions.

Assessment of the level of equipment of selected historical buildings in the Czech republic and in Slovakia in terms of fire safety
SVOBODA, Petr
This thesis deals with the issue of fire protection of historical buildings in the Czech and Slovak Republics. Input information that was used in the thesis were obtained from the literature or other freely accessible sources, the Fire Brigade of the Czech Republic, the Fire and Rescue Service of the Slovak Republic and the owners or managers of buildings. The main objective is to evaluate the facilities of selected historical buildings in terms of fire protection. According the objective has been defined the research question "Are the monuments in the territory of the Czech and Slovak Republic secured in a comparable level against the risk of fire?". An integral part is also proposing possible technical and technological elements and organizational measures which may lead to increased fire safety of monuments on the territory of the two abovementioned republics. Fulfillment of goals was possible, based on our investigation, when the first identification of monuments in the Czech and Slovak Republics, whose owners, respectively. Administrators were asked to complete a questionnaire containing questions related to fourteen facilities surveyed the building fire safety equipment and material means of fire protection. The completion of that survey were also asked at the same time members of the Fire and Rescue Service geographically relevant regions of the Czech Republic and members of the Fire and Rescue Corps of the Slovak Republic. Specifically, there were members who are employed in divisions or departments of fire prevention of the competent authorities of the state fire supervision. After evaluating the data collected through questionnaires and in some cases based on electronic correspondence or telephone conversations has been possible to answer the research question. Based on available information it is apparently that the fire protection of historical buildings in the Czech and Slovak Republic are treated by the authorities, not only the state fire supervision, but also themselves owners or facility managers very seriously and the fire safety of these monuments can be described as comparable. Unfortunately, in the research failed to varify the availability of surveyed historical buildings for vehicles of emergency fire-fighting units, which was based on the results of the analysis identified as one of the most risky points of fire protection of monuments. It can therefore only consider whether the availability of objects of that type in terms driveways is satisfactory. Proposing of possible measures is done on the basis of not only the information collected from facility managers and bodies of the state fire supervision of both republics, but also on the basis of the KARS analysis, which aimed to identify the most threatening phenomena which could have a negative impact on the status quo of monuments, in terms of fire protection. Answering a defining research questions and performing the analysis using method KARS has been achieved the objective of this thesis. In addition to the methodology and outcomes of the research are in the thesis presented brief information concerning fire protection in the age of the buildings and structures construction, which are currently presents as heritage buildings, and basic information of the principles of fire protection of historical monuments under applicable laws of the Czech and Slovak Republic. Fire protection of historical buildings has been underestimated for years. Currently, in connection with the ensuing fires significant buildings of historical value, it is to safeguard of historical buildings against the emergence and spread of a fire and how to dispose of potential fire utmost importance. As in other areas or sectors, as well as in fire protection of historic buildings is particularly important in the prevention, thus adopting such a system of measures to prevent a fire, or if there is a fire that damages caused by extraordinary events are possible smallest.
Evaluation of the fire safety in the rack storage in Vysočina Region
SUK, Martin
The aim of this Bachelor's thesis titled Evaluation of Fire Safety of Rack Warehouses in Region Vysočina is to evaluate the protection of rack warehouses in region Vysočina, compare the existing situation with legislation and technical regulations, and draft measures for successful suppression of fire in a rack warehouse for a firefighting crew commander. The thesis is divided into two main parts, the theoretical part and the effective part. This thesis also contains another part, where there were outlined two research questions and introduced the research methodology, which describes the procedure of obtaining results. In the theoretical part, there is a brief outline of the history of storage and its development. There are also explained main terms related to warehouses and storage, and there is also mentioned the basic division of warehouses. Furthermore, there is also described the burning process, course of fire and its particular stages. Last chapters of the theoretical part are dedicated to fire safety and applicable regulations, description and function of fire safety equipment, that are installed in warehouses chosen for assessment. Warehouses assessed in this work were selected intentionally and according to predetermined criteria, like for example rack storage of material, area, height and installed fire safety protection equipment. In this thesis, there can be found elaboration of the assessment of five rack warehouses in region Vysočina, which meet the conditions mentioned above, and which also provided detailed information. Results of this research are divided into two parts, when each part brought an answer to one important question. In the first part, there are stated results of guided interviews with professionals in the field of warehouse design, which provided answers to one of the research questions, and that was whether rack warehouses in region Vysočina were protected against occurance of fire in accordance with valid legislation and technical regulations. This comparison simultaneously represented one of the aims of this thesis. After the evaluation of obtained information, we can say that the researched warehouses are protected against the occurance of fire with the sufficient and appropriate means, and we can even consider some fire safety elements to be oversized. While processing guided interviews with commanders and chiefs of the squads located at firefighting brigade stations in region Vysočina, it was possible to answer the second research question outlined in the resulting effective part of this Bachelor's thesis. According to the results of the research, the firefighting brigade chiefs do not have enough information from warehouse owners to fight the fire successfully. From 24 interviewed crew commanders and chiefs, 15 consider provided information insufficient. As a complication while fighting the fire, they mention confusing state of operational cards, and also the fact the the information stated in these cards are not adjusted regularly. In the case of fire emergency, in a very short time, the firefighting brigade has to orientate in a large amount of information that are not stated in the operational card. This card is very voluminous and becomes confusing. While firefighting, the presence of the contact person is always important. On the basis of all information obtained during guided interviews with crew commanders and chiefs, there was created a methodological tool, so one of the objectives of this thesis, to help the crew commanders to make firefighting easier, was fulfilled. This tool will be offered to complete the firefighting documentation for the fire brigade stations in the region that cooperated during the process of obtaining data for this Bachelor's thesis. In this methodological tool, there is implemented a brief and synoptical list of all information that are, on the basis of the research, crucial for crew commander's decision making while firefighting.
Evaluation of the building fire safety of the selected subjects in South Bohemia at the beginning and during their use
HAVLOVÁ TYMICHOVÁ, Tereza
The theme of the Bachelor thesis is to evaluate the fire safety of buildings of selected subjects in the South Bohemian region in the beginning and during its use. I have chosen this topic and this issue to rise awareness of its importance. The aim of the thesis to evaluate the current state of the fire safety of chosen subjects and if it is consistent with the requirements that were given in the beginning of its use. The statistics concludes that despite the best effort of the authorities of fire prevention, there are still cases of buildings' fires causing not only material damage. Those fires are caused mostly because of technical faults or negligence. It leads to the hypothesis, that given fire safety regulations are not met. There is rising number of negligence and reluctance to finance the prevention. This problems are in the area of interest of the offices of fire safety supervision. They are supposed to ensure that the building are in the same state of fire safety before they are put into use as well as during its use. In the first chapter is the summary of historical evolution of fire safety, following with current norms dealing with fire safety regulations as well as with construction norms. At the end is the explanation of state fire safety supervision. Third chapter deals with the research and with the conclusions. The research was conducted by observation of the state of fire safety in selected subjects of interest and interviews with their representatives. The result is the evaluation of strengths and weaknesses. There is also a consultation of the state with the expert in this area. The research has shown, that the state of fire safety is not in compliance with the state in the beginning of its use, taking in account that the buildings met the regulations valid in that time. Every subject has shown deficiency, and as the interviews had shown, the reasons are mostly lack of information, time and finances. Another result is, that state fire safety supervision conducts controls more likely in high risk building, such as big buildings and those who are in high risk for fire. The solution might be in larger involvement of volunteer fire brigades into the issues of fire safety prevention of buildings. It might promote this area to those of interest. The results will be offered as information for Fire rescue service of South Bohemia region or to the Ministry of Interior General directory of Fire rescue service of Czech Republic for the purposes of improving the quality of the controls conducted by state fire safety supervision.
