Applications of Dictionary Learning Methods for Audio Inpainting
Ozdobinski, Roman ; Rajmic, Pavel (referee) ; Mach, Václav (advisor)
This diploma thesis discusses methods of dictionary learning to inpaint missing sections in the audio signal. There was theoretically analyzed and practically used algorithms K-SVD and INK-SVD for dictionary learning. These dictionaries have been applied to the reconstruction of audio signals using OMP (Orthogonal Matching Pursuit). Furthermore, there was proposed an algorithm for selecting the stationary segments and their subsequent use as training data for K-SVD and INK-SVD. In the practical part of thesis have been observed efficiency with training set selection from whole signal compared with algorithm for stationary segmentation used. The influence of mutual coherence on the quality of reconstruction with incoherent dictionary was also studied. With created scripts for multiple testing in Matlab, there was performed comparison of these methods on genre distinct songs.
Comparison of Multimedia Signal Compression Possibilities
Špaček, Milan ; Mišurec, Jiří (referee) ; Škorpil, Vladislav (advisor)
Thesis deals with multimedia signal comparison of compression options focused on video and advanced codecs. Specifically it describes the encoding and decoding of video recordings according to the MPEG standard. The theoretical part of the thesis describes characteristic properties of the video signal and justification for the need to use recording and transmission compression. There are also described methods for elimination of encoded video signal redundancy and irrelevance. Further on are discussed ways of measuring the video signal quality. A separate chapter is focused on the characteristics of currently used and promising codecs. In the practical part of the thesis were created functions in Matlab environment. These functions were implemented into graphic user interface that simulates the activity of functional blocks of the encoder and decoder. Based on user-specified input parameters it performs encoding and decoding of any given picture, composed of images in RGB format, and displays the outputs of individual functional blocks. There are implemented algorithms for the initial processing of the input sequence including sub-sampling, as well as DCT, quantization, motion compensation and their inverse operations. Separate chapters are dedicated to the realisation of codec description in the Matlab environment and to the individual processing steps output. Further on are mentioned compress algorithm comparisons and the impact of parameter change onto the final signal. The findings are summarized in conclusion.
Educational video codec
Dvořák, Martin ; Hála, Ondřej (referee) ; Slanina, Martin (advisor)
The first goal of diploma thesis is to study the basic principles of video signal compression. Introduction to techniques used to reduce irrelevancy and redundancy in the video signal. The second goal is, on the basis of information about compression tools, implement the individual compression tools in the programming environment of Matlab and assemble simple model of the video codec. Diploma thesis contains a description of the three basic blocks, namely - interframe coding, intraframe coding and coding with variable length word - according the standard MPEG-2.
Neural networks in audio signal watermarking algorithms
Kaňa, Ondřej ; Smékal, Zdeněk (referee) ; Zezula, Radek (advisor)
Digital watermarking is a technique for digital multimedia copyright protection. The robustness and the imperceptibility are the main requirements of the watermark. This thesis deals with watermarking audio signals using artificial neural networks. There is described audio watermarking method in the DCT domain. Method is based on human psychoacoustic model and the techniques of neural networks.

Image watermarking
Štágl, Luboš ; Zezula, Radek (referee) ; Číka, Petr (advisor)
This diploma thesis is concerned in static pictures Security problems. That means, additional informations (watermark) are embedded to the original picture in a specific way. This complex picture structure (watermark) should be unremoval by different attacks runing processes. The main goal of this diploma thesis is realize two separated methods digital data watermarking in MATLAB program. For reason of a quite large scale of different watermarking methods are chosen at this time only two of take were choosen. First of the methods is Watermark injection in the spatial domain and the second in the freuquency domain. Both methods are set up in a special way and finish goals of the process. Expected result are, that digital picture user doesn't know about the watermarking technique was aplied on this picture and the watermarking data are the most resistant as possible as can be. These attacks were simulated in Checkmark program.
Picture Quality Analysis in Digital Television Systems
Bednarz, Robin ; Slanina, Martin (referee) ; Kratochvíl, Tomáš (advisor)
Diploma thesis deals with the analysis of quality in digital television systems and contains theoretical description of subjective and objective assessment of quality picture methods. The thesis contains short-term and long-term analysis of quality picture of terrestrial television DVB-T. Measurements and experimentations were carried out with the help of Rohde&Schwarz DVQ analyzer of picture quality and software MPEG-2 Quality Monitor and MPEG-2 Elementary stream analyzer.
Watermarking of digital data
Kupka, Jan ; Přinosil, Jiří (referee) ; Číka, Petr (advisor)
The main aim of this project is to implement two different types of the watermarking algorithm in frequency (transforamtion) domain. Because of the huge amount of the watermarking algorithms is this thesis dedicated to the watermarking methods in the frequency domain. These methods use kind of transformation implemented on the original data, the second step is modification of transformation coeficients. This project is dedicated to the methods which use discrete wavelet transformation. Nowdays the most popular transformation, which meets the best efforts. The aim of every method is to embeed the watermark into the original data so precisly, that none observer can recognize any change between the original and watermarked data. On the contrary, watermarked picture should be as resistant to the attacks as possible. By the term of attack, we understand all the ways, that disable watermark extraction. The watermark method robustness will be tested with the use of Checkmark program.
Watermarking of static images
Bambuch, Petr ; Burda, Karel (referee) ; Číka, Petr (advisor)
The thesis deals with the security of static images. The main aim is to embed the watermark into the original data so effectively, to avoid removal of the watermark with the use of simple and fast attacks methods. With developing of the watermarking techniques the technique of attacks are improved and developed also. The main aim of the attacks is to remove and devalue the hidden watermark in the image. The goal of the thesis is to check current techniques of static image watermarking and implement two methods of watermarking, which are to be tested for robustness against attacks.
