Design of Throttle body for SI engine
Jantač, František ; Bazala, Jiří (referee) ; Beran, Martin (advisor)
This master’s thesis deals with the design of the throttle body of the intake manifold of a spark-ignition engine with regards to minimizing throttle loses at full engine load. The first part of this thesis focuses on the elements of intake tract structure on contemporary combustion engine including their design solutions and the theory of flow. The thesis also describes the creation of the 3-D CAD model of intake manifold with a throttle body and the description of the CFD flow simulation with the evaluation of resul.
Systémy zapalování zážehových motorů
Sikora, Jakub
Ignition process of fuel-air mixture has a large degree of combustion process in the petrol engine. It is necessary to control it , change the moment of ignition due to the conditions in which the engine operates . The ignition have to take into account all aspects of operation of the combustion engine and have to evaluate the right time to perform ignition of the mixture . It has great effect on the performance of the internal combustion engine and its efficiency. The right moment of ignition affects the composition of the flue gas leaving the combustion process. This work summarizes the probability of ignition of the mixture and the possibility of controlling the proper moment of ignition. There are described basic parts of the current ignition, differences and improvements. Also there are described the gradual development of the mechanical operation of the ignition and ignition time change due to traffic conditions to modern methods of regulation by electronic control units collect informations by electronic sensors. The conclusion is devoted to the modern way of igniting the mixture without initiating an electric discharge. There ignited fuel-air mixture be caused an increase in temperature due to its compression in the combustion chamber, called the HCCI.
Analýza výstupních parametrů zážehového motoru provozovaného na etanol a benzín
Čech, Ondřej
Diploma thesis on "Analysis of output parameters spark ignition engine operated on ethanol and gasoline", focuses on the issue of the operate of motor vehicles on the fuel mix of ethanol and gasoline. The theoretical part describes the use of biofuels as a fuel for internal combustion engines in the automotive industry and simultaneously focuses on the use of bioethanol, applied as an alternative fuel for spark ignition engines. The practical part is focused on evaluating the resulting changes of output parameters of the spark ignition engine of a car operated on fuel specified by the manufacturer and fuel consisting of a mixture of ethanol and gasoline at a ratio of 1:1. Based on the results of practical measurement it has been found, that during combustion mixtures of ethanol and gasoline has decreased significantly the content of harmful emissions in the exhaust gases, but also to a decline in performance and torque of the engine in comparison with gasoline. Due to the different properties of ethanol and gasoline is required when combustion of ethanol resp. its mixture to secure greater quantity of fuel injected. The increase of injected fuel results in higher fuel consumption.
Optimalization of Intake Manifold for SI Engine
Vondráček, Václav ; Vančura, Jan (referee) ; Beran, Martin (advisor)
The main aim of this diploma thesis is to design two different types of air throttles in the intake manifold and compare their influence on a loss of dynamics of the flow of drawn air. The main purpose is to compare the mass flow for wholly opened air throttle. It deals with creating CDF model of intake manifold by using 3D scanner Atos and software Pro/Engineer WF5. During the work, the results of the CFD analysis were used for a real testing.
Combustion Engine Ignition and Fuel Injection Control (Engine Motormanagement)
Nejedlý, Vladislav ; Mikulčík, Aleš (referee) ; Hájek, Vítězslav (advisor)
In bachelor’s thesis on themed Combustion engine ignition and fuel injection control (engine motormanagement) i predominantly dealt with systems used in modern motor cars. This thesis enlarges on a monopoint and a multipoint system fuel injection, it mentions their components and describes functionality of the integrated system.
Petrol Direct Injection
Moravec, Tomáš ; Janoušek, Michal (referee) ; Dundálek, Radim (advisor)
This bachelor thesis is about the system of direct injection petrol engines within cars. The first chapter is designated to the history of the direct injection petrol system and the development of different concepts. The thesis then concentrates on the mixing of air with fuel and describes the injection system in detail. Within the content of my work is a list of specific engines, using the direct injection system. The last chapter is devoted to the future development of direct injection petrol system and those with the compression-ignition system.
