The difficulty of the work of nurses at standard level internal wards
KOLÁŘOVÁ, Markéta
This Bachelor's Thesis deals with the issue of the difficulty, or level of physical and psychological demand, of nurses at standard level internal hospital wards. The internal ward is one of the basic wards included in hospital care. It is here that patients with internal organ ailments are hospitalized, and treatment lies in a conservative approach. The work of nurses at a standard level internal ward consists in providing quality health and nursing care. The nurse knows all the illnesses that occur here as well as their treatment and complications. She is also expected to be empathic and patient. Because she is in daily communication with doctors, patients, and their families, she must know all the principles of assertive communication. The job description of the nurse includes satisfying the needs of patients, participating in diagnostic operations, fulfilling the orders of the doctor, and preparing nursing documentation. The sister does not always witness a happy ending to each treatment. All these factors place a burden on the entire organism from both a psychological and physical standpoint. The objective of this Bachelor's Thesis is to map out the difficulty of the work of nurses at a standard level internal ward. To achieve this objective, qualitative research investigation was carried out using a semi-structured interview. The research base was formed by nurses from the internal wards of the hospital in České Budějovice (Nemocnice České Budějovice a. s.) and the Jindřichův Hradec hospital (Nemocnice Jindřichův Hradec a. s.). The interviews with the respondents were transcribed into case reports and further processed into categorization tables. The results clearly show that the work of nurses at standard level internal wards is very difficult and demanding from both the physical and the psychological side. The case reports and tables also show another piece of important information ? signs of ?burn-out? syndrome and the influence of stress on the work of the nurses, relaxation techniques of the nurses, satisfaction with financial compensation, and much more. On the basis of the results, an informational brochure for nurses was drawn up that includes relaxation techniques such as autogenous training, meditation, and yoga.
Preventing burnout syndrome in officials dealing with social care agenda
RAUNEROVÁ, Dagmar
Since 1st January 2007 extensive changes in the system of social welfare benefits have happened. It was particularly the Act No. 111/2006 Coll., on aid in material distress and S. Law No. 108/2006 on social services. This thesis deals with the burnout syndrome prevention just focused on the period from when those laws became effective. Simultaneously with the laws effectiveness the duty was imposed on social care officers to process the applications for social welfare benefits by using a software program and the need to ``insert{\crq}q human fates into a computer program, which brought about a considerable psychological stress. It is necessary to keep duplicate documentation, both in paper and electronic form, which also puts increased work demands on officers. The research was conducted with social care officers at municipal offices in the Domažlice region who work in Departments of Social Affairs and deal with the application processing under the above Acts. The main stated hypothesis suggested that there are no burnout syndrome preventive measures for social care officers in the Domažlice region. Other working hypotheses were set up: social care officers are not interested in prevention programs and employers do not create conditions for the burnout syndrome prevention. The outcomes may serve to social care officers themselves for a better orientation in the burnout syndrome prevention issue and especially to managers and executive officers to improve the care of employees.

The effect of the type of profession on the perception of stress
NIEMCOVÁ, Markéta
The thesis reviews scientific findings relevant to the issues of stress and burn-out syndrome in its theoretical part. It focuses both on the general description of the two related phenomena and their detection and prevention options, as well as on the relationship between them and the individual{\crq}s specific professional specialization. The research part of the thesis concentrates on mapping out of severity and frequency of stress situations, on feelings associated with the burn-out syndrome, and on the possibilities of social support systems among the respondents working in different types of professions and represented by three samples: teachers {--}future educational counselors-, managers in supranational consulting companies, and therapists providing care for individuals with mental retardation and psychiatric disorders. The present work further looks at differential subjective perception of stress events among these professions. Questionnaires BMS (Ayala Malach-Pines, 2005, The Burn-out Measure Short Version) and JSS-CZ (Spielberger, Knotková, Man, 1999, Inventář pracovního stresu) were used for the data collection, as well as additional personal questions. In addition, the results{\crq} implications and their limitations for possible generalizations are discussed.

Mental hygiene is the discipline that deals with developing and maintaining mental healt and preventing mental disorders and illnesses. It is a system of scientifically elaborated measures and instructions that help maintain, improve and restore mental health. Assistant branches and sciences are generally and undoubtedlly regarded as very demanding. The staff must meet high demands and be ready at all times to help others sort out their problems and difficult life situation. To keep their mental balance, these staff members should follow the principles of mental hygiene. The target of the diploma thesis at hand is to find out how an assistant employee subjectively assesses his or her workload and if they know how to tackle it. The thesis also aims at exploring particular measures of mental hygiene through which the staff cope with the workload arising from thein work. Before the survey was carried out, three hypotheses were formulated: H1: The employees in assistant positions in facilities providing social services in Pelhřimov region are aware of the degree of their workload, H2: The employees in assistant positions are informed about how to deal with workload, H3: The employees in assistant positions eliminate the workload through active and passive elements of mental hygiene. To complete the research part of the thesis, the quantitative survey employed questioning as the method of data collection using questionnaires as the technique. The survey was carried out in all 16 facilities providing social services in Pehřimov region. The research sample consisted of 224 employees in assistant positions in the said facilities. The research confirmed all formulated hypotheses. The research result can be made available to managements of facilities providing social services in order to serve as a stimulus for finding a more active approach to solving the issue at hand. Furthermore, the thesis might serve as a source of important data related to mental hygiene that may be distributed to all staff in assistant positions as well as to those who are interested in this topic.
Evaluation of ditary habits of nurses of standard wards by NutriDan.
KADLECOVÁ, Lenka
Abstract The bachelor thesis Evaluation of dietary habits of nurses of standard wards by NutriDan program is dividend into theoretical and practical parts. The theoretical part focuses on personality of a nurse, her education and conditions for performance of her work. Eating habits are assessed among nurses at standard wards. Furthermore, it is focused on nutrition which is important not only for nurses but for all of us. There are all the meal components such as sugars, fats and proteins delat with. They are followed by vitamins, minerals and trace elements and of course drinking regime, which is also important. The first aim of this thesis was to investigace how nurses of standard wards eat. The socond objective was to determine whether there is any diference in the diet, hen nurses are at home or while at work. The following hypotheses were stated to meet these aims: H1 Nurses at standard wards eat irregulary at work. H2 More than a half of the nurses of standard wards adhere to heatlthy diet principles in their free time. H3 Nurses know how to eat properly. There was a method of quantitative research ? an anonymus questionnaire used in the research. The questionnaire contained 18 questions, 10 questions were closed, 4 were half-open and the remaining were supplementary. The questinnaire also included two record sheets, where nurses recorded thein 24-hour diet including the liquids they drank. One answer sheet was for the days hen the nurses were at work and the second one when they were off and were at home. It was possible to use 102 questionnaires and records for the research. The records were then evaluated in the NutriDan programe. The research results show that the energy supply of a nurse at work is lower than its expenditure. They also show that Nurses generally know how to eat properly and thein BMI values are mostly balanced. Most nurses know that their diets vary during their free time and hen they are at work but they try to eat regulary and according to the principles of good nutrition at home. Therefore, there are noticeable differences in their diet and results of NutriDan on the diet inegredients show the same except for proteins and fiber. These nutritional components are neglected at home and at work too. They regularly have breakfast and more than a half of them eat regulary. The regulary eat fruits and dairy products. The diet of nurses is less balanced and less nutritious when they are at work. Nurses are eating irregulary and inadequately at work. Meal at working time is mostly represented by dairy products, fruits, vegetables and food rich in cholesterol and lipids. In practice, the results of the research could be provided to nurses at wards, so as they learn about the mistakes they make in their diets, about their eating habits in general so as they could change or modify their diets. The results could also be publishied in professional journals or articles dealing with this problem.
Family care for seniors from the point of view of selected population groups
TOMKOVÁ, Hana
With growing number of old and sick people, the demands on the economically active part of population are increasing from moral, financial and social points of view. Family care for old and sick people is not so self-evident as in former times any more; professionals speak about diversion from family. Family plays unsubstitutable role in every human's life. Since time out of mind, institutional care has been existing in the society, but it turns out that it is not the best solution for one{\crq}s declining years. The goal of the work was to ascertain the attitude to family care in 4 population groups; students of the Faculty of Health and Social Studies as future professionals on social issue, students of the Faculty of Economics as their counterparts, employees of a seniors{\crq} home who are in daily contact with the infirm, and a group of lay public in the age in which they will have to deal with the relevant issue participated in the questionnaire investigation. The work used the method of analysis of documents using the technique of secondary data analysis and the quantitative method of questioning using the questionnaire technique. The results of the investigation showed that the study of different fields at different faculties leads to different students{\crq} attitude to family care. They showed further that the employees of the seniors{\crq} home are not unambiguously convinced that institutional care is the best solution of care for seniors. The hypothesis of the research was the statement that the public inclines to family care from the point of view of life reality. This statement was confirmed. The attitude to family care was ascertained in all the groups questioned, so the goals of the work were met. Although the present society progresses very quickly and lays higher and higher demands on individuals, there are still a lot of such persons among us who do not shrink away from the demandingness of care in family circle, because it is normal in life to give care twice and to accept it twice.
Teachers` and medics{\crq} burnout syndrome
VOPELKOVÁ, Kateřina
The bachelor thesis offers an overview of information related to problems of stress and burnout syndrome. I deal mainly with causes, symptoms, risk factors, prevention and getting stress and burnout syndrome under control. The aim of my bachelor thesis is to find out symptoms of burnout syndrome at teachers and health service employees. I supposed different manifestations of the burnout syndrome due to different demands put on these people in their professions. Another aim was to establish the level of informedness of teachers and health service employees about the burnout syndrome and possibilities how to face it. I supposed for only 60% of those inquired to know the burnout syndrome. So as to increase the level of burnout syndrome knowledge, I developed materials that should inform in a clear and brief way about the problems of burnout syndrome and its prevention. On the basis of my request, two teachers and health service employees assessed the materials. So as to obtain the data, I used an anonymous questionnaire, establish personal data, informedness and {--} using the Inventory of Manifestations of Burnout Syndrome of Tošner Spouse {--} the manifestations of burnout syndrome on cognitive, emotional, physical and social fileds. I made a percentual assessment of the data established. On the basis of obtained data assessment there was confirmed the pre-assumption that the manifestations of the burnout syndrome appear in different fields at teachers and health service employees. It was established that the level of informedness of teachers and health service employees about burnout syndrome is much lower than expected. So the hypothesis was not confirmed. The results show significant lack of informedness of respondents reffering the burnout syndrome and posibilities how to face it. All the respondents positively assessed the information material created and they consider it beneficial. Some of the respondents would appreciate further information about the burnout syndrome in the form of lecture.
The change in scope of burning-out syndrom prevention in the legislation chanages.
MEDLÍNOVÁ, Eva
Paper covers educational training of social services workers who are supposed to have achieved the prescribed qualifications in compliance with the above-mentioned act, or who are supposed to achieve the respective qualifications by means of the so-called qualifications course for workres engaged in social services. Assisting professions are characterized , in particular, by the fact that persons engaged in them are exposed to a more intense contact with people than other professions are. Performance of such professions is associated with great commitment and responsibility. Therefore, workers engaged in social services are exposed to risk of burnout syndrome development to a higher extent than people working in other professions. This syndrome is experienced most frequently as a feeling of mental, physical and emotional exhaustion and not only does it result in deterioration of the quality of services provided, it has very adverse consequences for a social services worker affected by burnout syndrome as well. The work resulted in finding that no improvement of the Burnout Syndrome Manifestation Inventory score was found and that no influence on attitudes to burnout syndrome on the part of most workers engaged in social services after completion of the qualification course was observable. The workers themselves feel that there is no link between the qualification course and the quality of services provided by them.
