Improving efficiency of HEP applications
Horký, Jiří ; Zavoral, Filip (advisor) ; Falt, Zbyněk (referee)
The Large Hadron Collider (LHC) located at CERN, Geneva has finally been put in production, generating unprecedented amount of data. These data are distributed across many computing centers all over the world that form the Worldwide LHC Computing Grid (WLCG). One of the main issues since the beginning of the WLCG project is an effective file access on the site level in order to fully exploit huge computing farms. The aim of this thesis is to explore existing data distribution work flows, standards, methods and protocols. An integral part of the work is the analysis of jobs of physicists to understand input/output workloads and to discover possible inefficiencies. Then, new upcoming solutions are evaluated in terms of performance, sustainability and integration into existing frameworks. It is expected that these solutions will be based on distributed file systems such as NFS 4.1, Lustre and HDFS.

I asked question, how foreigners are understanding our health servis and when they visited our doctors - in the second part. In the third part of questionnaire I focused on how foreigners are satisfied with specific group of medical auxiliaries. These answers are represented in tabular forms and graphs. I suggest possibilities...

Critical look on internets expectations
Pobežal, Michal ; Mrkvička, Tomaš (advisor) ; Prázová, Irena (referee)
The diploma work proceeded from a hypothesis, that Internet will gradually lead to a development, similar to the one of TV or radio - thus that it will become a medium, through which a narrow group of owners of particular titles of this media will share on the profit generation and that after a certain period the entry of new subjects into this market will be limited in a same way as it is today in the world of electronic media and print. And also that the big internet web sites will enter the print and electronic media market or will influence it significantly. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)

Semiotic construction of media image of the Czechoslovak Radio and its function as the part of broadcasting in the crisis moments of the history (May 1945, August 1968, November 1989)
Štípková, Miroslava ; Šoltys, Otakar (advisor) ; Jungová, Eliška (referee)
Semiotic construction of the media image of the Czechoslovak Radio and function as part of the show in exalted moments of history our republic (May 1945, August 1968, November 1989). The model of the show during periods exalted was created especially during the Prague Uprising in May 1945 and was repeated for the entry of troops "friends" in August 1968. One can still find older signs before the Second world war, and to a smaller extent even later, during the first days of the Velvet Revolution in November 1989. But then Czechoslovak Radio no longer preached freedom, on the contrary, she remained loyal to the totalitarian regime power and it has long concealed what was really happening. How Bank Competition Influences Financial Stability
Vildová, Romana ; Horváth, Roman (advisor) ; Teplý, Petr (referee)
How Bank Competition Influences Financial Stability Abstract This paper investigates the link between financial stability and bank competition by means of the Arellano & Bond (1991) GMM model using annual panel data over the period 2000 - 2014 for 205 countries. Our data source is a new, richer and updated dataset The Global Financial Development Database available at World Bank. Due to the specifics of this dataset we are able to use new combinations of measures of financial stability and of bank competition and to study their relationship in greater depth. We find a positive link between financial stability and bank competition. Furthermore, our results provide evidence that it matters what measures of financial stability and bank competition we apply. Lastly, we ascertain that the relationship between financial stability and bank competition does not change over time. Výsledky zpracovány v programech Microsoft World a Microsoft Excel. Pricing and modeling credit risk
Kolman, Marek ; Witzany, Jiří (advisor) ; Kodera, Jan (referee) ; Lukáš, Ladislav (referee)
The thesis covers a wide range of topics from the credit risk modeling with the emphasis put on pricing of the claims subject to the default risk. Starting with a separate general contingent claim pricing framework the key topics are classified into three fundamental parts: firm-value models, reduced-form models, portfolio problems, with a possible finer sub-classification. Every part provides a theoretical discussion, proposal of self-developed methodologies and related applications that are designed so as to be close to the real-world problems. The text also reveals several new findings from various fields of credit risk modeling. In particular, it is shown (i) that the stock option market is a good source of credit information, (ii) how the reduced-form modeling framework can be extended to capture more complicated problems, (iii) that the double t copula together with a self-developed portfolio modeling framework outperforms the classical Gaussian copula approaches. Many other, partial findings are presented in the relevant chapters and some other results are also discussed in the Appendix.

Ekonomické přínosy členství v EU: empirická analýza
Zhitina, Anna ; Klosová, Anna (advisor) ; Villaverde Castro, José (referee)
This master thesis is devoted to the empirical analysis of the economic benefits of EU membership. The analysis aims to investigate what is the impact of EU membership on growth of the real GDP (in constant prices), unemployment rate and inflation rate for 16 states entering EU after the year 1995 (analysed period of years is 1991-2014). The applied method for evaluation in the current work is econometric analysis of panel data. The first part of the thesis is devoted to the literature review. The second part is describing data and variables that will be used for analysis, development of these variables over the time and stationary testing. The third part is dedicated to the regression analysis and includes models for GDP growth, unemployment growth and inflation. The last part of this master thesis will sum up the results and findings of previous parts. The main source for the data used in this work is the statistical database of World Bank (2016).
